Wie oft schon war er in die Schlacht geritten, Doch nie hatte ich beim Abschied solchen Schmerz erlitten. Ich wusste stets, er kam wieder zurück, würd sich vom Schlachtfeld erheben mit Kriegers Glück. Ich ahnte, die Erde würd ihn mir diesmal entziehen, im Traum hatte ich mich bitterlich weinen gesehen, als sein Blut sich mit dem Rot des Waffenrocks vermischte, und ich ihm sanft ueber die weltfernen Augen wischte. Als ich 75 jahre alt war, erfasste mich der Reim - ganz unerwartet. Ein neues Erlebnis - es machte mir Spaß, und versüßte mir das Alter. ich hielt u.a. den 2.
