Hopelessness, despair and an interesting concept of what would happen if the world lost it's rotation. Very imaginative, and descriptive. What I like most about the story is that it makes you think, long after you have read it. To me that is good literature, not soon to be forgotten. Awesome job, got my vote! Robynn

The description in your story had me seeing everything as if I was right there. I have read some really good work before but this is more...much more than good. I would also like to be able to read more of this story. It is something that might be going on to our world right now. I was listening to the news and also reading about all of the natural disasters happening to our world today and with what has just happened in Japan they have said that it has changed the earth's rotation along it's axis. These are things that are written in the bible that we need to really think about and take into consideration. We never know if our time is at hand.

Those are the two words that spring to mind after finishing your book. This book is beautifully written, of course would there be anything less from Patrick. The desperation of this schoolteacher is overwhelming as he watches the world crumble around him, as all hope is lost. This was phenomenal… I bow my hat to you. Voted.

You are a magician with words, Patrick, and I bow to your writing skills. For those who fear to enter contests -- well, they must not have your gift. Having lots of friends has nothing to do with being a successful writer. If you had just arrived here, with NO friends, everyone would see that you write with compassion, beauty and stark reality and they would vote for you. If you were unwilling to market yourself, someone else would take on the task (me). "Talent will out" as they say in England.
