1. The Lucky Guy

1. The Lucky Guy

A lucky guy received a scented email the other day, saying: Hi handsome, you’re so lucky I found you. Here is my link and number. Let’s hook up, so we can chat in my private chamber. And with moji kisses and smiley faces, she seduces him to gain his purse and power. Like moths to a flame, she captures men and places them under her spell. She is hot, I give you that, but boy, you are way too cool, not knowing she will play you like a fool. With flattering lips and flirting eyes, she disarms him with a whisper: I am sugar, and you are spice, let’s roll that lucky dice. But her sweet words will drip and stick to your soul like melted candy on a hot summer’s day. The fire alarms go off, but you keep snoozing the bell. Wake up man, it is you who will fry when her breast befalls your eyes. Run baby run, lest you burn with lust, trapped in her web of dreams. Play hide and seek, for when she comes knocking, her seductive charms will sweep you off your sturdy feet.

If you be so open-minded with no lock on your door, you’ll end up with no walls to protect you from her sinister invasion and mind control. Look a little longer, and sin’s pleasures become even stronger, for that second glance cannot be trusted. So don’t hang around, guard your loins and get out of there. Shut your eyes and play the blind man on the corner. For it is better for you to enter heaven’s gates a mole than to fall into hell’s fire with perfect vision. Hell is hot, but she is not, avoid her seduction and lose her number, that you may keep your precious soul in that tempting hour. Lest she eats you up and wipes her mouth, saying: I have done nothing wrong. That is the way of an adulterous witch. For a harlot is a bottomless pit, and a seductress a narrow well. She lies in wait for victims and to increase the unfaithfulness among men.

Listen to my wisdom and bow your ear to my understanding. For the lips of a strange woman drips honeycomb and her mouth is smoother than oil. Look how the mighty have fallen, slain by her high heels and strange perfume. Brothels have left many wounded. They will never see the light of day again. But you, whoever you are, flee God’s wrath to come, run for cover, and run for your life. For her perfume is the scent of death, and her easy love stings like scorpion’s poison. Her soft touch is like dragon claws that will abort your reputation and sell it off to the highest bidder. For her ankles are chained to Hades below, which welcomes every fool that lies with her. Save yourself, cancel her invitation and exit her playground. For the price you will pay ain’t dollars, pounds, or yen. Your soul is on the table, for a pennies loaf of bread.

2. Cheaters

Through the window of my apartment, I watched and discerned a simple young man void of understanding, standing on the cafe corner. Then arrive there a woman, cunning in heart, and dressed to kill who is loud and obnoxious, and whose feet refuse to stay in her home. She often strolls down that lane introducing herself to total strangers. And when she saw him, she did the same as she said to him: man, today is your lucky day, and tonight is going to be a good night. Let’s dance and have a party. And hooked by her charming persona, she hugs and kisses him.

Come with me and let us take our fill of love until the morning and let us cheer ourselves with passions. My bed is decorated with charms to spend the night in white satin and perfumed sheets. And my good man is not at home but has gone on a long journey. He has taken a bag of money with him and will come home on the day appointed. And so, with her much fair speech, she caused him to yield, and with the flattering of her lips, she forced him. And so, he follows after her, like an ox that goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the place of correction, till a dart strike through his liver, like a bird to a trap, yet he knows not that it is for his life. Listen to me now and attend to the words of my mouth. Let not your heart stray to her ways and go not astray in her path. For she has cast down many wounded. Yes, many strong men have been slain by her. Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death. For a foolish woman is clamorous, simple, and knows nothing. She hangs at the door of her house, at bars, and roams around markets and busy places. She is often found in red-light districts, calling by-passers to come her way. And when the simple ones who lack understanding turn to her, she chats them up saying, stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is a pleasant pie. But they are ignorant, not knowing that the dead are with her and that her guests are in the depths of hell. As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout so is a fair woman who is without discretion.

Keep yourself from the strange woman and her flattering words, whose end is as bitter as wormwood and sharp as an accidental cut to the finger. Her feet go down to death, and her steps take hold of hell. Her ways are movable you cannot know them. Listen up and depart not from the words of my mouth. They will deliver you from that strange woman and her flattering words. For she forsook the guide of her youth, and she forgot the covenant of her God. Her house is a porthole to the rooms of death where the dead awaits judgment day. No one that goes to her return to takes hold of the ways of life again. But you, turn and walk the other way, and stay on the paths of the righteous, for it will keep you from the evil woman who flatters with her tongue. Remove your way far from her, and come not near the door of her house, lest you give your honor to others and your years to the cruel. When strangers eat up your wealth, and your money ends up in their houses. And you complain at the end when your flesh is consumed, and say, how I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof, and have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to them that instructed me!

For the honor of men is reduced to a piece of bread by a prostitute. Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not catch fire? Can one walk upon hot coals and his feet not burn? So is he that goes into his neighbor’s wife. Lust not after her beauty in your heart, neither let her take you with her eyelids, for the adulteress will hunt for your precious life. Whoever teases her will not be innocent. And he who commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding and destroys his own soul. A wound and dishonor will he get, and his reproach will not be erased. For jealousy is the rage of a man, therefore will he not spare in the day of vengeance to regard ransom, and even if you give him many gifts will he not rest content.

3. Stone The Adulterous

3. Stone The Adulterous

Dead men walking, out for a thrill, trap set ready, they raided her home. Bedroom busted there she laid, in the arms of a lover, and her feet chained to Hades below. “Grab her” they shouted, with evil on their mind, to drag her sheet-wrapped body down Main boulevard, to be trialed.

Tears of terror stream down her painted face. Her anguished soul wishing, pleading, just once more, hugs and kisses, for her little ones, and a final farewell. Condemned to death without mercy that she knows, the stones of judgment will rain on her perfumed body. The Law of Moses pounding on her head, before departing her spirit and her last breath.

Now ready for the kill, they picked their stones. “Don’t be hasty boys, cool your anger. For today, they said: We need this adulterous witch to catch that holy man. Two birds of a feather, we will condemn them together. We have a much bigger fish to fry, and by nightfall to deliver both harlot and the son of man into the Reaper’s bloody hands.

This is not a Disney tale, blockbuster, or Parisian show, but a devious plot of religious clergy, conceived in the belly of hell, against the one called the king of the Jews, the long-awaited Messiah. To embarrass and to harm, to discredit and to shame, that Nazarene, what is his name? Their zeal for God, to please by sacrifice, even the spilling of innocent blood, a perfect substitute. With confidence in Moses and their evil schemes, they burst onto yet another scene. A packed audience listening to this prophet preaching of his Father’s kingdom and forgiveness, while doing good and healing the sick.

Master Teacher they shouted. Excuse our riotous intrusion, but our urgent matter demands your final approval. Here she is the adulterous kind, unfaithful to her promise and marriage vows, playing the harlot of our town. Lucky we were, just happen to be in her neighborhood. There she was, inviting to her wedding bed, a fornicator, and a fool, while her husband on business, is out of town.

Now Moses gave us Ten Commandments and the law (hypocrites by the letter knows them all, too well, their credentials, the splattered blood on their stonewashed walls). But you Jesus, friend of sinners, drunkards, tax collectors and of her kind, tell us, what do you say of our find? Drawing circles in the sand, he turned them a deaf ear, seeing into their evil hearts and wicked plan. But they persistent sought to record his every word.

Then Jesus, with fire in his eyes and the sword in his mouth, stunned even the cheering crowd, when he said, “Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone.” Silence fell, as the arms of her accusers, now lame with conscience guilt. Who could dare to condemn, but he alone who spoke those piercing words? Exposed and naked, they, one by one, slipped through the pressing crowd, convicted, and condemned, they became hypocrites on the run. If only they had turned at his reproof, he would have given them a second chance.

Then lingering, he gazed on the one lying prostrate by his side, shaken, and humiliated by the public outcry. Woman, he said, where are your accusers? Did no one cast his stone? With tears still streaming down her scarlet face, she lifted her head. And seeing none of them she replied, no my Lord, they all gone.

Then she gazed into his soul-searching eyes and perceived that he who stands before her, is far greater than Moses and the law, a fountain of life, and a rock of defense, to anyone who believes on his name. As he spoke to her heart yet again, his words like burning fire cleansing her sin-sick soul, “Neither do I condemn you, Go and sin no more.”

4. Porn-No-More

4. Porn-No-More

It was reported that there is sexual immorality among you, the kind that even pagans do not tolerate. You are proud of it, but should have gone into mourning, and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been doing this? As one who is present with you, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing this. So, when you are assembled, and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved, on the day of the Lord. Your boasting is not good. I write to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people, excluding the immoral, greedy, swindlers or idolaters of this world, otherwise, you have to leave this world. But do not even eat with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister who is sexually immoral, greedy, an idolater, slanderer, drunkard, or a swindler. Expel the wicked person from among you. What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those on the inside? God will judge those on the outside. But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. So, give diligence to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall. For so an entrance will be ministered to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I remind you to put on these things, though you know them, and be established in the present truth. For the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God. Be not deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But now you are washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of God. All things are lawful to you, but not all things are good. All things are legal for you but do not be brought under the power of any. Food is for your belly, and the stomach for food, but God will destroy both. Your body is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

Know you not that your body is a member of Christ? Will you then make it a member of a harlot? God forbids. Whoever is joined to a harlot is one body with her. For the two, says He, will be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is of one spirit. Flee fornication for every sin a man does is outside the body, but he that commits fornication sins against his own body. What, know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which you have of God, and that you are not your own? For you are bought with a price. Now glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which belongs to God. You are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you. Whoever defiles God’s temple, God will destroy. For the temple of God is holy, and you are his temple. Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. Follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no man will see the Lord. Looking diligently lest any man fails of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled. Lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For you know, how afterward when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected, but he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears. So then as Christ suffered for you in the flesh, arm yourself likewise with the same mind. For he that has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin. That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. For in times past you did the will of the Gentiles, when you walked in lustful desires, drunk, partying, banqueting, and abominable idol practices. But they now think that you are strange that you are no longer run with them to the same excess of riot, and so speaking evil of you. Live ready to give account to Him that will judge the quick and the dead. For this cause was the gospel also preached to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh but live according to God in the spirit. But the end of all things is at hand. So be sober and watch in prayer.

Follow God, like dear children, and walk in love, as Christ also loved you, and has given himself for you as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance. But do not even mention fornication, uncleanness, and covetousness among yourselves as saints. Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient, but rather give thanks. For you know that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no man deceive you with vain words, because of these things will the wrath of God come upon the children of disobedience. So be not partakers with them. For you were once in darkness, but now are you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth. Proving what is acceptable to the Lord, having no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all the things that are reproved, are made manifest by the light, for whatsoever are made manifest, is light. Having their eyes full of adultery that cannot cease from sin, beguiling unstable souls. And with hearts exercised with covetous practices, cursed children, they have forsaken the right way and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam, son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness. But he was rebuked for his iniquity by a dumb donkey speaking with man’s voice stopping the madness of the prophet. These are wells without water, and clouds carried with the storm, to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh through much wantonness, those that were clean, escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they are the servants of corruption. For by what a man is overcome, of the same is he brought into bondage. For if after they have escaped the pollution of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the righteous way, than after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it happened to them according to the proverb: The dog turned back to his vomit and the washed pig to her wallowing in mud.

Awake you sleeper and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light. Walk circumspectly not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Now be you not unwise but understand what the will of the Lord is. If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on earthly things. You are dead, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life will appear, then will you also appear with him in glory. So, mortify your earthly body with its fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affections, evil desires, and covetousness which is idolatry. For this reason, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience. In which you also once walked when you lived in them. But now put off all this anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, and filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him. Turn now at my reproof and watch me pour out my Spirit on you, and make my words known to you.

Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him. Let him know, that he which converts the sinner from the error of his way, will save a soul from death, and will hide a multitude of sins. But he who covers his sins will not prosper. Confess and forsake them and you will find mercy. Reckon yourself to be dead to sin, but alive to God through Jesus Christ the Lord. Let not sin reign in your mortal body, to obey it in the lusts. And do not yield your member as an instrument of unrighteousness to sin, but rather yield yourselves to God, as one who is alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. Yes, sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under the law, but under grace. To whomever, you yield yourself and obey as a servant, his servants you are, whether to sin unto death or to obedience unto righteousness. Present your body to God as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God for you. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling as you pursue holiness that you may see God. But thanks be to God, you were once the servants of sin, but since you obeyed from the heart Christ doctrine it has delivered you, and. have made free from sin, that you can become a servant of righteousness. As you have yielded your members as servants to uncleanness and iniquity, even so now yield it now to righteousness unto holiness. For when you were the servants of sin, you were free from righteousness. What fruit had you then in those things whereof you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and a servant to God, you have your fruit unto holiness and its end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. So, put you on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. Be not overcome by evil but overcome evil with good. I know that in me that is, in my flesh, dwell no good thing. For too will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good, I find not. For the good that I want, I do not, but the evil which I do not want, that I do. Now if I do that which I want not, it is no longer I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. I delight in the law of God after the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from the body of this death? But I thank God through Jesus Christ my Lord that with the mind, I serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

5. Victory Rewards

5. Victory Rewards

For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he ponders all his doings. By his iniquities will the wicked himself be taken, and he will be held with the cords of his sins. He will die without instruction and in the greatness of his folly will he go astray. God is light, and in Him is no darkness. If you say that you have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, you lie and do not do the truth. But if you walk in the light, as He is in the light, you will have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses you from all sin. If you say that you have no sin, you deceive yourself, and the truth is not in you. But if you confess your sins, he is faithful and just, to forgive your sins, and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. If you say that you have not sinned, you make Him a liar, and His word is not in you.

Having precious promises, dearly beloved let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in fear of God. No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. But God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. You have heard that it was said, you shall not commit adultery, but Jesus said, that whoever looks at a woman and lust after her, has already committed adultery with her in his heart. So, if your right eye offends you, pluck it out and cast it from you. For it is better that one of your body parts perish and not your whole body be cast into hell. Job made a covenant with his eyes, as not to look on a girl in any way that would affect his heart. Jesus taught you to pray: Father lead us not into temptation but deliver us from all evil. David said I was almost in all evil in the midst of the assembly and congregation. But his divine power has given you all things that pertain to life and godliness, by the knowledge of Him who has called you to glory and virtue. To you is given exceedingly great and precious promises that by them you may be a partaker of his divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. So, give all diligence, add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge, and to knowledge temperance, and to temperance patience, and to patience godliness, and to godliness brotherly kindness, and to fraternal kindness charity. For if these things are in you and abound, you will neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation for the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Whom you resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren. What is my hope, joy, and crown of rejoicing? Is it not you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? In the hope of eternal life, which God who cannot lie, promised before the world began. For every man that strives for mastery is restrained in all things. They do it to obtain a corruptible crown but we for an incorruptible. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of glory that does not fade away. Christ did not come in the form and nature of an angel, but the seed of Abraham. For in all things, it was necessary for him to be made the same as his brothers, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in matters pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he has suffered being tempted, he can help them that are tempted. Blessed is the man that endures temptation. For when he is tried, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him. I am crucified with Christ, yet I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me, and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Now is laid up for you a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to you in that day and not only to you but also to all of them that loves his appearing. These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed, we are perplexed, but not in despair. Persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed. Always bearing about in the body the dying of our Lord Jesus. For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus might be made manifest in your mortal flesh. You are of God, little children, and have overcome because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God? Fight the good fight, and finished your course, keep the faith. In the world you will have tribulation but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war with the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. And to cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and to bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ, in readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Jesus said: To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and on the stone, a new name is written, which no man knows except him that receives it. He that overcomes and keep my works to the end, to him will I give power over the nations. To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. The second death will not hurt him that overcomes. He that overcomes will be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will go out no more. And I will write on him my new name, the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God which is the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God.

6. The Good Wife

6. The Good Wife

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts in her, so that he will have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax and works willingly with her hands. She is like a cargo ship, bringing her food from afar. Early she rises and gives food to her household, and a portion to her servants. She considers a field and buys it, and with the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard. She girds her loins with strength and strengthened her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good, and her candle does not go out by night. She lays her hands on the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretches out her hand to the poor; yes, she reaches forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household for all her household is clothed with scarlet. She makes herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land. She makes fine linen and sells it and deliverers girdles to the merchant. Strength and honor are her clothing, and she will rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looked well to the ways of her household and eat not the bread of idleness. Her children wake up and call her blessed even her husband also praises her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but you excel them all. Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain but a woman that fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands and let her own works praise her in the gates. In like manner women adorn yourselves in modest apparel, restrained by shame and sobriety, and not with braided hair, gold, pearls, or costly outfits. But with which become women professing godliness with good works. Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed then Eve. For Adam was not deceived but the woman being deceived was in the sin. But she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor of the Lord. Wives be in subjection to your own husbands, that if any obey not the word, they without the word be won as he watches your chaste conversation combined with fear. Let your adorning not be the outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel, but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband, but she that makes shame is as rottenness in his bones. Gracious women retain honor and strong men retain riches. Do men compete with women? Of course not. It’s not in their make-up to do so. Men compete with men, and men compete with the curse of their environment to subdue it. For after this manner holy women of old also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. Likewise, you husband dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life that your prayers be not hindered. House and riches are the inheritance of fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord. Let your women keep silence in the churches for it is not permitted unto them to speak, but they are commanded to be under obedience as also the law says. And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home, for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

What? Did the word of God come out from you, or to you only? If any man thinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write to you are the commandments of the Lord. But if any man knows it not, let him be ignorant. Gracious women retain honor and strong men riches. Speak the things which become sound doctrine. That aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, and in patience. And the older women in their behavior reflect holiness, not false accusers, not given too much wine, teachers of good things. That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, and to love their children. To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God is not blasphemed. Likewise, young men should be sober-minded and, in all things, showing yourself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity with sound speech that cannot be condemned and that is otherwise may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

7. Single, Married Or Divorced

7. Single, Married Or Divorced

Being single is both a blessing and a challenge. God saw that it was not good that the man should be alone. So, he made Eve to be a helpmate to Adam. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on him, and while he was sleeping, took one of his ribs, and covered up his flesh like a surgeon. And when Adam saw her, he said, this is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh, she will be called a woman. Therefore, will a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife and they will be one flesh. And both were naked, the man and his wife, and they were not ashamed.

It is good for a man not to touch a woman. So, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render to the wife due benevolence, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife has not power of her own body, but the husband, and likewise the husband has not power of his own body, but his wife. Defraud not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, lest Satan tempts you for your inconsistency. I speak by permission, and not by command. I wish that all men were like I am, but every man has his own gift of God. To the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they remain like me. But if they cannot contain, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn.

And to the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, let not the wife depart from her husband. But and if she leaves, she must remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband and let not the husband put away his wife. And this I say, not the Lord if any brother has a wife that believes not, and she is pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. And the woman who has a husband that believes not, and if he is happy to stay with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband. Otherwise, your children would be unclean, but now are they are holy. But if the unbelieving departs, let him depart, a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases, but God has called us to peace. For how do you know if you will save your wife or husband? But as God has distributed to every man, as he has called everyone, so let him walk.

The head of every man is Christ, and the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. A man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, and every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head as if her head were shaven. For if a wife does not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head. For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but the woman is the glory of man. For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. That is why a wife ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels. In the Lord, a woman is not independent of man, nor the man of a woman, for as the woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God. Judge for yourselves. Is it proper for a wife to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not nature itself teaches that if a man wears long hair, it is a disgrace to him? But a woman’s long hair is her glory because her hair is given to her as a covering. If anyone is inclined to be contentious, we have no such practice, nor do the churches of God.

Husbands love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it, that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having a spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish. So, ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself. No man hates his own flesh but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord the church. We are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this reason, will a man leave his parents, and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. So, love your wife as yourself, and the wife sees that she reverences her husband.

Then came to him men who say that there is no resurrection, and asked, master, Moses said, If a man dies having no children, his brother must marry his wife and raise up seed for his brother. Now there were with us seven brothers and the first when he had married a wife, deceased, and having no issue left his wife unto his brother. Likewise, the 2nd also, and the 3rd, unto the 7th, and at the end, the woman passed away. Now in the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the 7 for they all had her. So, Jesus answered them, you do err because you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Jacob. God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

Drink water out of your own reservoir and running water out of your own well. Lest your fountains are dispersed abroad, and your waters run in the streets. Let it be yours alone, and not for strangers. Let your fountain be blessed and rejoice with the wife of your youth and let her be as the love of your life, and let her breasts always satisfy you and always be delighted with her love. For why will you be enchanted with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?

8. Songs Of Solomon

8. Songs Of Solomon

Set me as a seal upon your heart, like the tattoo on your arm. For love is as strong as death, jealousy is as cruel as the grave, like the flame of coals of fire. Many waters cannot quench this love, neither can the floods drown it. Stir not up nor awake my love until he pleases. Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth, for his love is better than wine. Like the smell of your perfume, so is your name poured forth as an ointment, and do the virgins love you. A bundle of myrrh is my well-beloved unto me. He will lie all night against my breasts. Tell me, you whom my soul loves, where do you feed, where do you make your flock to rest at night? He is the rose of Sharon and the lily of the valley. He brought me to his banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters. As the apple tree among the trees of the wood so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

My sweetheart whispers: Rise, my love, my fair one, and come away. I look at you, my love, and you are so beautiful. You are the fairest among women. O my dove let me see your face, let me hear your voice. Your sweet voice I know and the sight of you so beautiful. At night on my bed, I longed for him whom my soul loves. I will arise and search for him whom my soul love. You are so beautiful my lovely princess, you have dove’s eyes, and your hair is like a flock of goats. Your teeth are like a flock of sheered sheep, which came up from the washing, of whom everyone bears twins, and none is barren among them. Your lips are like a thread of scarlet, and your speech is comely, thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks. My darling your two breasts are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies. Until the day breaks and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense. You are perfect my love. There is no spot in you. You have ravished my heart, my love, you have ravished my heart with your eyes. How beautiful is your love, my sweetheart! Your love is better than wine! And the smell of your perfume than all the spices! Your lips my spouse drops as the honeycomb. Sweetness is under your tongue, and the scent of your garments is like the smell of beauty. A garden enclosed is my sister. My spouse is a shut spring and a sealed fountain. Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits, and trees of frankincense, myrrh, and aloes with all the best spices. A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon. O awake north wind, and come to the south, and blow upon my garden that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden and eat his pleasant fruits.

I have come into my garden, my sister, my spouse. I have gathered my myrrh with my spice, and I have eaten my honeycomb, and I have drunk my wine and milk. Eat my friends and drink up, yes, drink abundantly, my beloved. I sleep, but my heart is awake. It is the voice of my beloved who knock at my door, whispering, open for me my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled. His head is filled with dew, and his hair with the drops of the night. But I have already put off my coat. Should I put it on again for him? My feet are washed, will I dirty them again? My beloved puts his hand by the hole in the door, and my stomach is filled with butterflies. Finally, I get up to open the door for my lover as my hands drip with myrrh. My fingers of sweet myrrh lean upon the lock of my door. I opened for him, but my prince has withdrawn himself and was gone. My soul failed when he spoke. I sought him, but I could not find him. I called him, but he gave me no answer. The watchmen on patrol who found me struck and wounded me, and the keepers of the walls took my veil away from me. I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem if you find my beloved that you tell him, that I am love-sick.

My beloved is a handsome prince, the greatest among ten thousand. His looks are outrageously gorgeous. His eyes are like dove’s eyes. His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers, and his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh. His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl. His belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires. His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold. His countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars. His mouth is so sweet, yes, he is handsome. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem. I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine. He feeds among the lilies.

My dove, my undefiled is the one. She is her mother’s favorite. The daughters saw and blessed her. Even the queens and the concubines all praised her. Who is she whose looks goes forth as the morning, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners? How beautiful are your feet with shoes, my princess! The joints of your thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman. Your navel is like a round glass lacking liquor, and your belly like a heap of wheat decor with lilies. Your two breasts are like two young roes that are twins. Your neck is like a tower of ivory and your eyes like the sparkling stars brightening the skies of heaven. Your nose is like the tower of Lebanon. Your head is like Carmel and the hair of your head like the purple that hangs in the king’s galleries. How fair and how pleasant you are for delights, my love! Your stature is like a palm tree and your breasts like clusters of grapes. I said I would go up to the palm tree, and I will take hold of the boughs thereof. Now, will your breasts also be to me as the clusters of the vine and the smell of your nose like sweet apples? And the roof of your mouth like the best wine, for my beloved, goes down sweetly, causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak. I am my beloved’s, and his desire is for me. Come, my darling, let us go forth into the field and picnic and let us lodge in the village. Let us go early to the vineyards and see the vine flourishes, and the tender grapes, and the pomegranates, for there will I give you, my loves. The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for you, o my beloved. You are sugar, and I am spice.

13. Love Wins

13. Love Wins

Many songs have been written about love. The whole world turns around on love. Te Amo, Je t’aime, I love you. Powerful words. There are so many ways to say it and countless ways to express it. Love is fuzzy red, true, but love can also turn cold blue. Love is sweet never bitter. Love is holy never perverted. Love is deep, but love can be shallow too. Love is kind and sometimes blind to everyone’s wrongs. Love is more than just a feeling and often sacrificial. Love is seen and felt the strongest on the cross. When you bless those whom you want to curse. When you show kindness to your haters. Love does not throw tantrums when you do not get what you want. Nor does it play the blame game when feelings are hurt. Love lets go to prevent a war of words that will destroy the fragile soul. Love is resilient and will not let go. Love seeks and finds problem-solving opportunities. Love is not arrogant, or full of pride, rather meek and gentle. Love is never forceful, slow to anger, and rich in mercy. Love can show up at anytime, anywhere, anyhow. Love can be you if you are willing to go the extra mile. Love is perfect, that’s why love wins all the time. Love is true and faithful and a shield as well as a sword. Love comes from the heart and is the loving nature of God in humankind.

But how will you know true love? Some say, love is nothing but a secondhand feeling. That is a lie. Love is more than romantic feelings, breaking up and empty promises. When the world falls into dark matters of depressions, wars, and lawlessness, it is love that will show you the light and way. When relationships end and marriages tear to pieces, it is love that heals. When families fall apart and friendship’s part, it is love that leaves room for a reunion. How do you show love to your loved ones?

But what is love? Jesus said, no greater love has a man than to lay down his life for another. This love he demonstrated to the whole world when he died on that cross for you. That is how much God loved the world. This is the love of God, how he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him will never perish? The Love of God our Father and the love of our Lord Jesus Christ is so amazingly beautiful and sweet. Jesus said to abide in his love. When you walk in love, you abide in his love. For it never fails to influence the loveless, the rude, the arrogant, the selfishness in others, without also perfecting your own weaknesses and failures, at the same time. Truth without love is surgery without an anesthetic. No matter how brilliant the doctor is, his reputation as a professional surgeon is questionable which also has a ripple effect on the medical profession. Truth is like a sharp knife. It is handy when you need to cut cheese or sliced bread, but if you are careless in pride the risk of injuring yourself or others is imminent. Telling the truth also in a malicious manner is a sure sign that you no longer value truth to heal, but rather to assassinate the other person. Truth without mercy can cause more hurt than good and being kind in truth is more important than being right out without mercy. Why be rude with the truth when you could be kind in love? Love and truth have a special bond that brings blessing to those who practice it and those who open their ears for instruction and reproof. Truth exposes lies and love covers the multitude of transgressions.

Take parents for example. A parent who leaves their children without correction does not love that child. Love will discipline a child to make him wise to life and the rod will not kill him, but much rather drive the evil and foolishness from his heart. The workplace has the same kind of law. The rod of correction often has a more severe outcome if one does not abide by the discipline of the workplace. You could get fired, dismissed, demoted, or despised, etc. But it is designed in such a way to reform or transform an individual for that specific environment. Often people complain and murmur against the government and law enforcers as if they are public enemies. It is a shame, though. But they are God’s servants for the good of the people. But if the people make the king angry or transgress the law, should they not fear the wrath of the king or state? These are a terror to the lawbreakers and not the obedient. My guess and instruction thus would be, think twice before you rumble with those in authority. They have the power to crush the oppressors and to establish peace and order for the good of all people. Even so, if the counselors of the king are wicked so will be the king’s actions and that of his servants towards the poor and needy.

Pray for your leaders for wisdom, kindness, and success that you may live a peaceable life under their reign. The hardest though is to keep walking in love. God also warns that in the end times the love of many will turn cold, for lawlessness will abide. You may have failed miserably, but by his Word, his love is restored and perfected in you like fresh bread. You may speak in the tongues of men, and angels, but if you lack love, you have become like instruments out of tune. You may have the gift of prophecy, you may fathom all mysteries, know all things, have faith to move mountains, but if you lack love, you are nothing. You may even give away everything that you own, and hand over your body to be burned, but if you lack love, you gained nothing. A new commandment I give you, that you love each other as I have loved you, so love one another. By this will men know that you are my disciples if you have love one for another. Jesus

LOVE is patient and kind, not jealous, not boastful, not proud, rude, or selfish, not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not gloat over the sins of others but takes its delight in the truth. Love bears up, trusts, hopes, and always endures never to fail.

LOVE is a beautiful Garment and fashionable in all seasons. Clothe yourself with love that they may know you are a disciple of Christ when you love the brethren.

LOVE is a strong shield that protects your heart from those who are unkind, jealous, hateful even from lusts, that you may walk in peace and holiness.

LOVE is a weapon of offense and defense, for your fight is a spiritual one, and you are more than a conquerer.

LOVE is a delicious fruit and a costly gift not to be despised when you lay down your life for another.

The first commandments is this: Hear, o Israel, the Lord your God is One Lord. LOVE the Lord your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first command. And to love your neighbor as yourself is second to it. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Though you speak with tongues of men and angels but have not charity, you have become as sounding brass and dripping tap. And though I have the gift of prophecy, understand all mysteries and knowledge, and have mountain-moving faith, but have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profits me nothing. But prophecies will end, tongues will cease, knowledge will pass. Now your knowledge is partial, and prophecy partial; but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass. And the greatest of faith, hope, and love is love itself. We are of God. He that knows God hears us, but he who is not of God hears us not. By this, we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone that loves is born of God and knows God. He that loves not knows not God, for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, that God sent his only begotten son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also must love one another. No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and his love is perfected in us. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has torment, so he that fear are not made perfect in love. You love him because he first loved you. If anyone says that he loves God, but hates his brother is a liar. For he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God, whom he has not seen?

And this commandment you have from him, that he who loves God must also love his brother. But whoever hates his brother is a murderer and knows that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. So, you can perceive the love of God because he laid down his life for you. And so also lay down your life for the brethren. And whoever has these worlds’ goods, and sees his brother has a need, yet shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how does the love of God dwell in him? My little children let not your love be in word and tongue but in deed and in truth. So, you know that you are of the truth, and will assure your heart before him. Above all things have fervent charity among each other, for charity will cover a multitude of sins. Owe no man anything, but to love each other. For he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments says: you shall not commit adultery, you shall not kill, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall not covet, and if there be any other things, is briefly wrapped up in this saying, namely, love your neighbor as yourself. For love works no ill to his neighbor. Therefore, is love the fulfilling of the law. Love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return, and your reward will be great, that you may be the children of the Highest, for he is kind to those who are evil, and the ungrateful. As the father loved me, so I love you. Continue in my love. When you keep my commandments, then do you abide in my love, even as I have kept my father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things have I spoken to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is my commandment that you love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this that he lay down his life for his friends.

14. Love Letters

Do you still remember your first love letter? How happy, nervous, and excited it made you felt? Butterflies in the stomach and a clouded mind fluttered with love birds whispering. With courage, the author wrote that perfumed letter. Not knowing if that small step of boldness would someday become a never-ending love story. But oh, the crush, when that letter is despised, rejected, and cast aside by a joker. This is a mystery unfold. A love letter from God to the world send in the flesh and lifted up in plain sight on a cross for all to see, hear, and to believe. Dearly beloved you are his perfumed letter read by all men. These love letters are not inked on paper but fingerprinted by his blood and Spirit into the hearts of Jesus people, walking as children of the light. You are his, and he is your first love.

Arise sleeping head, from your cozy bed. It is time to go to work. Have a coffee on the way, and do not forget to pray. Don’t you know, your father who loves you, is already at work? So am I, working to complete the good work I began in you, for which you are set apart in this world. But I see that you are almost convinced, that the ways of the world are better than mine. Why else would you be watching to see if anything good will happen, before you believe? Have I not told Mary, after her brother was dead and buried four days, ‘only believe, and you will see the glory of God? I am the Resurrection and the life. I was dead, but now I am alive forevermore. The table has been set, and the invitation is for anyone who hungers and thirsts after righteousness. Come, and take your seat, without a price and free. Did I not say: Fear not and do not let your heart be troubled? It was for a good reason that I have gone away, to prepare a place for you. If it were not so, I would have told you. But now I am seated with the father, and I will return. I am proof that God loved the world, and I have shown it to you, not by empty words or passing joys. No, look it is paid for, in my blood, and sealed by my Spirit. By the cursed cross, I was stripped naked and ashamed, but I saw something that was not visible to the naked eye, yet it was written. That the blessing of Abraham would come on you and the wrath of God would pass your house. I knew you would believe me, that is why you are chosen and called. Rest in my love for you, child. But wait, there is more. I want you to exercise as well. Yes, shape your body and sharpen your mind, but more importantly, exercise yourself towards godliness. Less you look handsome and gorgeous but all in vain. Start exercising your faith. Hope again. And do not stop. You need patience and persistence, that you may enjoy the fruit of your labor, in me. There is a reward. I have many crowns to give away. And yes, I am your exceedingly great reward. Don’t you know that faith without works is dead? You are dead too. Dead to this world, and dead to sin. No need to dress up for worldly performances when you are born again. You have been baptized in my death and raised with me into this new life. It all has begun. I in you and you in me, and my Spirit in you. And when I was on earth I walked in your shoes from town to town and unfamiliar places, doing good and healing the sick. Come alive child, you are not dead. I want you to be my hands and feet. For the kingdom of God is at hand. And you know that I am coming soon.

Everything I do and allow on earth as it is in heaven is by faith only: The just shall live by faith. My resurrection faith. Many are wishing and waiting in vain for me to do for them, what they can do for themselves if only they would believe and call those things that be not as though it is a reality. This can only be if you fill your heart with faith. The faith that comes by hearing and hearing my word. Without faith, it is impossible to please the father. If you have faith you can speak to that mountain that stands in your way and tells it to go away. It is for you my child, to occupy till I come. Occupy the earth as a king and a priest unto God your heavenly Father. You are my anointed, and you have been positioned to stand firm in the faith without wavering. Do not look at what is visible but see the invisible I promised you in my word. Release whatever you will in the earth as it is in heaven by the powers of the cross and empty tomb invested in you. I have given you my name and my word. That is the way to go. You are the light that shines in this world, and you are the salt of the earth. Do not hide but be bold. Remember I have overcome this world. You too can do all things by my Spirit who enables you. All of creation is groaning, and waiting, for the revelation of me in the sons of God. Walk in the light of day. Stand up and let us go to work. Fill your lamp with oil lest you have no light when I return at midnight. Not everyone will go. You know that work is involved. I have called you unto good works. Let it be gold, silver, and precious stones. If you use wood and paper, it all be burned away. By your deeds will men praise me, let your kindness be known to all men. Every step of your faith is essential in building my kingdom. Ask me my son and daughter, and I will give it to you, whatever you demand of me.

Be of good courage, fear not, and only be strong. I am with you to the end. The waters will not drown you when you step out of the boat, nor will the flames of the fire harm you, when I am with you as the fourth man. The righteous know that my name is a strong tower and a refuge. Call me, and I will answer. Pray and ask in faith. Doubt not. Then will you have whatever you ask me according to my father’s will? Do not be deceived by fake news and false reporters. My truth will set you free. Pursue the true riches I have for you, my child. Learn from me, for I am meek and gentle. Accept that you are rich and discover your inheritance. I already made the deposit into your heavenly account. Though I was rich, did I made myself poor and of no reputation, for you, so you can change your status and be rich in me. How big is your love, how wide, how deep? How much mercy and compassion do you have available for the poor and needy? How many times can you bear up with your brother in patience, kindness without getting rude, selfish, or boastful in your pride? Are you rich? Then let it be towards God. Lay up for yourself treasures in heaven where mother nature cannot destroy, nor thieves break in to steal. Lift up your eye’s child, look to me, for I am the author and finisher of your faith. Believe me, and you will see my glory on the earth. For nothing will be impossible to God or to you who believes and calls upon my name. Love Jesus

15. Flowers

Flowers are given for many reasons,

Flowers that grow in different seasons.

Flowers are perfumed letters in color,

Flowers are silent words with goodly deeds.

Flowers scents with heaven’s commission,

Flowers release nature’s joyful emotions.

Flowers flatters and spark the eyes,

Flowers for aroma and flowers for beauty,

Flowers from the heart that keeps beating.

Flowers for weddings, and funeral flowers,

Sadly, not seen again by those dead and gone.

Flowers for a friend sprouts appreciation,

Flowers for a partner spices romance,

Flowers for any occasion and reason,

And finding an opportunity is not hard to do.

Flowers for love, and flowers for peace,

May these flowers I pray, never cease.

16. The Scent Of A Prostitute

16. The Scent Of A Prostitute

What does a prostitute have to do with God or money? She will take your money and drag your soul to hell all the while you think you are having the time of your life. Her reputation as a social butterfly was well known by many and her clientele were mostly sought after prominent figures. She is the woman you would watch on Cheaters for having Sex in the City. But when she heard Jesus was in her town, she took her most precious perfume and went to meet him. But he had a reputation as a man of God and her reputation as the harlot of that town would definately make headlines. Three times Jesus interacted with this kind of woman most men need to avoid, but so often falls for. He was tempted like every man, yet he kept his integrity and remained blameless. That he may be a merciful high priest, familiar with human emotions and weaknesses. People all over the world face situations like these, but because of this story, men can take courage to walk away from sins temptations and overcome.

This is not about who touched who first but whose touch impacted the other’s reputation. Because everytime Jesus touched someone or was touched by someone something divine happened. This woman was financially successful for the perfume she poured out on Jesus was very expensive. She came to Jesus not to seduce him, but because she desired something from him no other man could give her. She was a woman in need of love and forgiveness. She was determined to use every drop of her costly perfume on this holy man of God. She caused quite a stir when she took that vase, full of expensive perfume, and poured it on the head and feet of Jesus while he was dining with a prominent religious figure of the community. And the whole room lit up with the sweet aroma of her perfume as she broke the alabaster jar and made her intentions clear. How she got inside and passed security no one knows. It was not a public restaurant where business deals were set and sealed. This was a private residence. If Jesus were anything like some stars today, his bodyguards would have stopped and prevented her from getting any signature or a selfie. But she came for something else. She brought him a gift in a time when he needed a special ritual in preparation for the most significant act of love the world would ever witness. But one greedy man remarked: What a waste, exposing his empty heart, we could have taken the perfume and sold it to feed the poor? But Jesus, holy as he was, never shunted any sinner out the door. Leave her alone he said, she has anointed me for my burial. And I tell you this day, what she did for me, will be shared around the world in memory of her. Jesus not only defended this woman of disgrace, but he also promised her a prominent place with him in the gospel story as recorded in all four gospels.
