Growing up, the plastic cups were always stained kaleidoscopic, but no one ever seemed to notice. It was just one of the side effects of having Jules as a younger brother.

This is good - I can safely say you're one of the better writers here, at least insofar as the care you take with alliteration and some very abstract (but effective) turns of phrase. It gives a good snapshot of an autistic kid (who is oblivious) and the family that has to deal with the fact that the he operates on a separate plane of reality, basically.

I agree with you, flash fiction is not a very good place for multiple characters or complex characters, even though that was what I threw into mine. I really did try for the "forward motion" or the "point" of the story. The mother's section, where theres watching her children... mehr anzeigen

It's amazing how two siblings can be so far apart emotionally yet come together and learn from each other in so many ways. This was beautifully written and illustrated through words. I could see everything that was happening. I really enjoyed it. ;-)
