Great column, thank you.
I call it the short-term long-term problem dilemma.
Do I A) cut the trees down to make charcoal to sell for food to by my children
who are hungry right now or do I B) leave the trees so they can feed us in the
long term?
It is so easy to pick B) from the comfort of my warm, first-world kitchen. But
if I had to face that situation on the ground, obviously I would pick A).
