It is a great break that she finds love, and a rotten break that the world has to end. How insane for a guy to just come up and stab her. One little thing, I am an astronomer, and noticed the asteroid half the size of Saturn. That is a no no in astronomy as objects get their name (planet, asteroid, comet, etc) in part by their size. An asteroid can be the size of Nebraska or Ireland or whatever, but has to be much smaller than a planet like Saturn or Earth. Even one the size of Chicago would really mess the life on this planet up, so a good valid story there.
