Another fallacy that drives me crazy is that teachers get ""all those paid
vacations"". My contract is for 190 days per year. My salary is based on my
hourly rate for eight hours per day times 190 days. The district takes my
annual salary (for ten months of work) and prorates it over twelve months so
that I don't have to budget for a paycheck-less summer. I do not get paid for
spring break or summer vacation.
