After reluctantly deciding to go home for the summer when her grandmother practically begs her, Charolette starts what seems to be a very promising summer. Just when things are getting good, and maybe a bit too good, the worst possible thing that could happen occurs and piece by piece Charolette's world starts to fall apart.
