Most of the time she was dressed in black, with a low cut silk blouse and a short skirt - so short that I could see her panties - and wearing high hills shoes that made her look like she was stepping on hot coals. The warm breeze in the evening made me feel better than the midday hot wind. Then the warm breeze faded away to get replaced by a sandy wind. Within minutes the town got deserted. It was like the whole thing that used to move around would retire to rest. No more voices or laughs or curses: lights of the pub and houses around would gently go to sleep under blinds and rags. Kathleen Norris (born in Washington, D.C. on July 27, 1947) is a best-selling poet and essayist.[1][2] Her parents, John Norris and Lois Totten, took her as a child to Hawaii, where she graduated from Punahou Preparatory School in 1965. After graduating from Bennington College in Vermont in 1969, Norris became arts administrator of the Academy of American Poets, and published her first book of poetry two years later.[3] In 1974 she inherited her grandparents' farm in Lemmon, South Dakota, moved there with her husband, David Dwyer, joined Spencer Memorial Presbyterian church, and discovered the spirituality of the Great Plains.[4] She entered a new, non-fictional phase in her literary career after becoming a Benedictine oblate at Assumption Abbey Richardton ND in 1986, and spending extended periods at Saint John's Abbey in Collegeville, Minnesota.[5] Since the death of her husband in 2003, Norris has transferred her place of residence to Hawaii, though continuing to do lecture tours on the mainland. Thomas Sterling North (November 4, 1906 – December 21, 1974), who used Sterling North professionally, was an American writer, probably best known for the children's novel Rascal, a bestseller in 1963.Sterling North's maternal grandparents, James Hervey Nelson and Sarah Orelup Nelson, were Wisconsin pioneers. Born in Putnam County, New York, James moved first to near Rochester, New York, then to Menomonee, in Waukesha County, Wisconsin (near Milwaukee), then pioneered a farm near present day South Wayne, in southwestern Wisconsin. His daughter, Sarah Elizabeth "Elizabeth" Nelson, was Sterling North's mother; she died when Sterling was eight years old. She married David Willard North, also the product of a pioneering local family, whose brother ran the family farm. Thomas Sterling North was born on the second floor of a farmhouse on the shores of Lake Koshkonong, a few miles from Edgerton, Wisconsin, in 1906. Surviving a near-paralyzing struggle with polio in his teens, he grew to young adulthood in the quiet southern Wisconsin village of Edgerton, which North transformed into the "Brailsford Junction" setting of several of his books. In Huxley's boyhood at least a comfortable income was necessary for this: in every civilised country nowadays, state endowments, or private endowments, are ready to help every capable boy, as far as Huxley was helped, and in his progress from boyhood to supreme distinction, there is nothing that cannot be emulated by every boy at school to-day. The minds of human beings when they are born into the world are as naked as their bodies; it matters not if parents, grandparents, and remoter ancestors were unlettered or had the wisdom of all the ages, the new mind has to build up its own wisdom from the beginning. This is my story. I put it as a fiction work, but it's actually based on real events. I hope that when people read this story they can experience the same emotions like I did living through this love story. I cried, laughed, was surpriced, shocked, loved, and lived. Alesya was born in Ukraine. She was born to a family of 5 brothers and one sister, she was very gifted since she was born. She never knew love can come and go so fast. Why is her love so strong while others's love can't even measure up to hers? Should she give up and end her life, or should she keep on living? Why did her first love have to end so fast? Was all this time a dream that turned from "too good to be true" to a "just a nightmare" in less then she could blink? Roman Gregorovitch was the only child born to a mom and dad who loved him and spoiled him rotten! But it did not go to his head, he was brought upp well, and while he was growing up he had a best friend, her name was Alesya, she was the blonde, blue eyed, beauty. He never knew love till he fell hard for his best friend! Then something tragic happened to his whole family as they were driving bsck from spring break in Southern Ukraine, visiting grandparents. One regret is not telling each other I love you, goodbye..... I have been blessed with an amazing heritage. Pentecost came to my family in 1904, when my grandfather’s grandfather received the Holy Ghost on the back side of his farm one Sunday afternoon. The Baptist church he was a member of was in the middle of revival and asked all present that morning to pray one hour before the evening service. Before that time the Pentecostal experience of Acts Chapter Two had not been experienced in southern Missouri. I was blessed by being raised by my grandparents for a time, and growing up hearing those stories of America’s discovery of the modern Pentecostal experience. That was their legacy which they passionately handed down to me. Now, years later, my daughter is grown and moved on with her life. As I looked around me at all the things I have experienced over the years, I began to ponder the question of what would be my Legacy. What will I pass on to others, what do I have to share? Will anything that I have experienced be worth remembering in the ages to come? That is the motivation for the pages that follow. I want to share what is most important to me while I still have the time and ability to do so. So that one day when I am gone, future generations will have a voice to guide them and help them overcome the storms of life that I have already passed through. Within these pages you will find a collection of essays and short stories that I wrote to share some of my deepest held beliefs and most private life lessons. Some of my words may not meet the needs or approval of everyone who reads these pages. I just pray that you will continue until the conclusion of this journey with me.
