- 2020 - Die Menschheit würde ausgelöscht werden. Überall Leichen, Blut und schreiende Überlebende. Einstürzende Gebäude und Menschen, die unter den Trümmern begraben werden. Überall Rauch und lodernde Flammen, eine überforderte Feuerwehr und ständige Explosionen versetzen das Land in Angst und Panik. Apokalyptische Zustände und rollende Panzer der Regierung sind auf dem Vormarsch, beschießen die feindlichen Rekruten, aber sie können sie nicht alle zurückschlagen. Verängstigt rennt die 10-Jährige Avril Morrisey durch die zerstörten Straßen, versucht mit wackligen Schritten über Steine zu balancieren und über diese zu klettern. Sie schreit und weint sich die Seele aus dem Leib, sucht vergeblich nach ihrer Familie. Ihrer Schwester, ihren Eltern, ihrem Bruder. Schreiende Menschen rennen an ihr vorbei, ignorieren das hilflose Kind und kümmern sich nur um ihre eigene Sicherheit. Die Kleine Avril stolpert, prallt auf die aufgeplatzte Straße und bleibt weinend liegen. Sie schluchzt und kreischt, als sie die Explosionen um sich herum hört und die unaufhörlichen Schüsse aus den Waffen der Soldaten hört. Doch sie nimmt auch Schritte war, ganz leise, aber sie nähern sich ihr. Avril will sich umdrehen, wird im nächsten Moment angehoben und findet sich auf dem Arm einer unbekannten wieder, die anfängt zu rennen, als Avril sich an ihr festklammert. Es war nicht ihre Mutter, ihre Mutter konnte nicht mehr rennen, sagte sie zumindest immer. Es war eine andere, junge Frau die Avril da versucht zu retten. - 2040 - 20 Jahre sind seit dem apokalyptischen Krieg in Amerika, New York vergangen, hunderttausende ließen ihr Leben und wichtige Gebäude wurden in Schutt und Asche zurückgelassen. Nun, ist die Stadt im Aufbau, nur wenige Plätze und Gebäude wurden verschont und blieben erhalten. Viel war aufzubauen, aber mit Hilfe anderer Städte, die von dem Krieg verschont blieben, schaffte man es, die wichtigsten Gebäude wieder aufzubauen, eine gewohnte Atmosphäre zu schaffen für alle Einwohner. Es gibt wieder Wohngebiete und es liegen keine Trümmer mehr auf den Straßen, diese sind nun wieder befahrbar. Und was ist mit Avril? Mittlerweile ist sie 29, gründete ihre eigene Familie mit einem Ehemann und zwei Kindern. Alles erinnert sie an ihre eigene Familie, die sie damals nie wieder sah und auch die Frau, die sie rettete, sah sie nur einmal. Sie brachte Avril damals in ihrem Auto aus der Stadt raus, es war ein Wunder gewesen, dass sie überhaupt herauskamen, aber über Schleichwege und Umleitungen, hatten sie es geschafft. Doch Avril ahnt nicht, wie schnell sie diese Frau wieder sehen wird und wie nahe der nächste Krieg schon ist... [mehr]

Part B: Control of DC Motor Using Different Control Strategies in Matlab:A simple model of a DC motor driving an inertial load has the angular speed of the load, , as the output and applied voltage, , as the input. The system was used as an example in [1]. The ultimate goal of this paper is to control the angular rate by varying the applied voltage using different control strategies for comparison purpose. The comparision is made between the proptional controller, integral controller, propotional and integral controller, phase lag compensator, derivitive controller, lead integral compensator, lead lag compensator, PID controller and the the linear quadratic tracker design based on the optimal control theory.III. Part C: Investigation of the Usefulness of the PowerWorld Simulator Program Developed by “Glover, Overbye & Sarma” in the Solution of Power System Problems:The objective of this part is to investigate the usefulness of the power system simulator PowerWorld program developed by “Glover, Overbye &Sarma”. The results obtained from the power simulator program were presented for different case studies. The power system network used in this study consists from 6 buses. Area 1 includes bus 1-5 while Bus 6 will be part of Area 1 in some case studies, or will form separate area 2 in other case studies for comparison purpose. Note that the Available Transfer Capability (ATC) analysis add-on which determines the maximum MW transfer possible between two parts of a power system without violating any limits, and the voltage adequacy and stability tool (VAST) add-on that can solve multiple power flow solutions in order to generate a PV curve for a particular transfer or a QV curve at a given bus, was not studied here because we don’t have yet VAST add-on and the ATC add-on packages.
