“I want you to stop telling me you love me when your words are smothered with gin and juice,” she watched as he took another sip of his drink.
“When I’m sober I don’t love anything,” he looked at her with winter in his eyes, and she just wanted to defrost him, but she couldn’t figure out how."

"I love you,” he said as his eyes melted into hers.

“You don’t actually mean it, please don’t say that,” she said.

“Why?” his face was puzzled and he tried to hold her hand, but she moved away.

“In a matter of days, you’re going to leave me like everyone does. Eventually, you’re going to realize that my heart is too heavy to carry around. I hate when people tell me they love me because those words have smothered my heart blue too many times,” tears rolled down her cheeks and she tried to contain herself.

“I’m not like those other guys,” he said.

“You know what? I’m not going to fall for that again,” she walked away knowing she was going to go home and text him and say sorry."
