I started to read this and thought that this was more of a "guys read" but the details kept me drawn to the story.
Nice work.

Valerie, you're right about the research, and also, you're the first to notice it... which was the idea. It is based on real historical events with some obvious artistic liscence. I edited out a fair amount of stuff so as not to bore people with historical names and details, but the feel is still there.
I'm glad you picked it up because it is hard to not give the game away with this story AND make it appeal straight away to everyone.

I am so glad I decided to read this. At first I was put off since it is not a genre I usually like. But I persevered and am so thrilled I did. You have obviously done some intensive research for this story, and it shows. I loved the whole concept, especially the time-travel aspect, and am happy to give you my vote.

My only critique might be to shorten rambling sentences that become a little convoluted and the word "cute" might not be appropriate for this style of writing.

Otherwise -- great job. I look forward to reading the rest of this.
