About the sofa, I meant for it to be old. In my mind, it was slowly falling apart. Threadbare, the springs poking through, but still comfy in the way old couches can be. I don't know if I'm making sense, but it's in my mind.

I /know/ some parts were cheesy, haha. I wrote this for a Creative Writing course, and my teacher edited some parts and wouldn't grade it unless I changed it. T-T In my opinion, it was much better before she got her grubby hands on it, but what's done is done.

I really liked your story. You kept me interested with your vivid descriptions and dialogue. There were definite themes within your writing of grief and acceptance.

Your description of her sofa was squashy sofa and then another was threadbare. I wondered about the consistency with that, not sure it rang true but probably just me.

With your descriptive exposition I thought your relied on both sight and touch of her surroundings. This was good but I wondered whether using some other senses like sound and taste to mix it up a little more.

Also, though for the most part your work was inventive and innovative, there was one or two area's I thought were a little cheesy. Only advice really is that we should always avoid cleche's and I think most writers struggle with this so more for you to just be aware of than anything.

Over all, I think you have great potential and really just need a further practice, like all of us.

I will vote for you and select you as a favourite.
