Wow! I am so very grateful. Having read the other entries in the *Battle of Words IX “Superheroes” contest, I am truly honored to have won. I appreciate every person that took the time to view the story, regardless if you voted for it or not. My hope with the story was to focus attention on the children that have no choice but be heroes when placed in these types of situations. Regardless if you believe the story should have won or not, please say a prayer for these little ones. We can be their hero by showing them the love and kindness that they may not get from any other person around them. Thank you.

WHO SEES HIS MOTHER CRUMLED IN A CORNER OF THE LIVING ROOM, hE TELLS HER HE CAN'T STOP THE BADMAN, AND HE FALLS ASLEEP IN HER ARMS. o WONDERFUL STORY WITH THREE CHARACTERS, ONE THE BAD MAN, THE OHERS VICTIMS. THE PLOT IS GOOD, THE CHARACTERS SEEM REAL,THE STORY APPEARTS AS TRUE AND THE DICTION IS FABULOUS. THANK YOU MATHEW FOR A REWARDING READ.

Just read your story. I think you've done a good job with this. Plot is good and it is a touching story. I had a problem with her pain 'beginning to come back'. There was some minor repitition.
