It was near midnight as I read this poem. It brought on such emotions that I needed to write something down quickly.
I did...now I only require a suitable cover.
This poem of yours is truly inspirational. I'll dedicate mine to you.

Very touching. My mother had alzheimer's and she knew her life as she knew it was slipping away. You captured what she must have felt.

The words for this poem were hard for me . I have such strong feelings about seeing someone disappearing before your eyes.I have worked with the elderly and this is so difficult for everyone in their lives.I thank you commenting and reading. Serena

For those of us who have elderly parents or friends, Evaporating touches deeply and sadly. "I watch like a child," says volumes, although it is not as a child sees; joyful and with wonderment. The character in this excellent poem watches with confusion.

"Who am I?"

Why is his or her world evaporating before the eye?
If the ending weren't so sad, it would be almost wonderful, but we know the peace cannot last.

Beautifully rendered, Serena.
