How does a brilliant book like "Orange Messiahs" only have 4-stars (they told me I already voted but I had not!), while others on this site have 495 stars?!?!
This is one of the best novels I've ever read. It's compelling and edgy with remarkable language that stays with you long after you close the cover.
I'd rank Scott Sonders with Tom Robbins, Somerset Maugham and Garcia Lorca.
Scott, it was obvious to me from the first few pages of your book that you are a professional...and of course I did some research on you, which proved me right. Books like yours are jewels shining brightly among the dull stones and although I am totally hooked on your work, I think it is rather like a brain surgeon competing against first year med students...we have no chance at all!! A detractor thought she and others shouldn't vote for this book because "it was too professional." She feels that the "beginners and less talented should have a chance to be published." That's like saying we should put bad players in pro sports. What then? No one will watch the game. And in this instance, no one will read a less than top quality publication.
VOTE FOR THIS BOOK!! VOTE FOR "ORANGE MESSIAHS" BY SCOTT SONDERS. LET'S HAVE MORE QUALITY NOVELS TO READ.
