VAMPIRE AND THE WEREWOLF
It was a clear summer night in early January down the long and sometimes very lonely Eyre highway which takes you from Western Australia to South Australia. There was a slight cooling breeze flowing through the air, it had been a hot and energy sapping thirty nine degree day but now it was only around nineteen degrees and very pleasant. An English backpacking couple named Jason and Jessica Ward Jason was a large man and a few years ago had play rugby at its highest level but due to knee injuries he had to retire. Jessica was a former runway model and she still had the body to prove it. They were hitchhiking their way to Adelaide with their fifteen year old son Rodger. Rodger was taller then his dad and had his build but he had his mothers blue eyes. They had been travelling through the state of Western Australia working on farms and seeing the beautiful sites of the state. As they continued on their way around Australia, after staying in Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie for a few weeks, they had decided to start heading towards Adelaide. There they planned on staying for a few weeks before moving onto Victoria. Then on up to Alice Springs to see Ayers rock then on to the capital Darwin in the Northern Territory then over to Queensland to stay in Brisbane before finally reaching New South Wales and Sydney, then they planned to head back home to England.
They had not seen a vehicle for a good couple of hours since a kind truck driver had given them a lift from the truck stop in Coolgardie to around a hundred and fifty kilometres down the Eyre highway where he was turning off to deliver sheep to a station. They had been told by the truck driver there had been backpackers going missing recently, and he said to try not to walk at night as there was a lot of open space, and not a lot off traffic. They stood there looking down the long straight road and Jason turned to Jessica and said.
‘Honey I reckon we should continue walking at least until the next parking bay' Jessica replied.
‘But that truck driver said we shouldn't travel at night as its dangerous, also Rodger is probably getting tired are you going to carry him?’ Jason rolled his eyes and thought why can she so argumentative all the time, then he smiled and thought well she used to be a model in London so was used to getting her own way.He turned to Rodger and said.
1What do you think son? Rodger said in return.
‘Look there is a sign up there that says parking bay two kilometres away lets walk there at least we will be off the road’ Both his parents nodded and they started walking the Eyre highway to Adelaide and in the morning they maybe able to get a lift from trucks doing the Perth to Adelaide run. Half an hour later they had got to the truck bay just as the sun was starting to set, they hugged each other close for warmth as even in summer it gets cold in the outback with Rodger between them. As they sat there watching the sun finish setting there was a big red glow which meant it would be a fine day tomorrow Jessica and Rodger fell asleep however as Jason was just about to fall asleep he heard a rustling behind him, he thought to himself it was a rabbit and ignored it. Next thing he knew he felt teeth sink into his neck then he was slung 10 metres away from his sleeping family. He laid there on the ground as he saw what looked like a half dingo half human six feet high standing over his wife and child, saliva dripping from his mouth the thing was salivating over the prospect of what he was about to do. It did not look like a dingo as he had seen in books and on tv, this one was deformed and look more half vampire half dingo. It had hair all over its body, but his head was shaped like a dingo’s head but with a vampire face. As the being was about to devour his family, from nowhere a man appeared he launched himself from around ten metres behind his wife and child, there was a clap of noise similar to a crash of lightning as the man shoulder charged the thing sending it 20 metres away. The thing jumped to its feet and said in a growl.
‘You’ the man replied in a sarcastic tone.
‘Me, I have been tracking you for days I must admit you monsters are usually stupid but you actually have some brains, just a shame you feel you have to kill people this is my world my state and you must die so lets dance' The being launched himself towards the man who grabbed him by the head and swiftly snapped his neck. As the lifeless body of the thing flopped to the ground he then drifted into unconsciousness.
Mostly I just need to know if the concept is likely to be received well by people
Ok but I gotta go.
But ill read it while I'm gone.
