I don't know, Reggie Ridgway, I have some problems accepting how much of a pussy Dr. Anderson sounds like. A doc who's Chief of Surgery is prestigious in his community already, and even a forced resignation would accompany a six figure severance pay for the next TWO years. Hell, I live in Cali, and the Junior college I go too pays it's old chief of police 150,000+ a year, and that asshole got fired two years ago. So tell me, how's a fucking head of surgery, making on average 415,000 thousand a year going to find his wife in bed with another man and attempt to commit suicide. That fucker could murder his wife, and the scumbag she's with, hire OJ Simpson's dream team and live the rest of his fucking life in Costa Rica smokin' joints. Seriously, hate to burst that bubble but his suicide attempt doesn't seem justified. The slut he was with wasn't worth being his wife in the first place(dirty gold-digging tramp), and the reality is the doc would be getting paid over a million in severance, and any string of mysterious murders would be put down by an extremely talented team of highly paid lawyers. Nuf' said.

In The Midnight Hour is a fast-paced, riveting story that throws the reader into action on Page 1 and rarely slows down. The story begins with an escape from an institution that goes wrong, leaving the escapee in the ICU of Harbourside Memorial, an upscale California hospital known for its affluent clientele. As the reader moves forward in the story, he or she will learn of the long and complicated relationship that this particular patient has with this hospital and why, upon awakening, strange and terrifying things begin happening all throughout the place. The plot follows the effect that this patient’s vendetta has upon multiple characters- the hospital chairman, a detective, a few seemingly innocuous hospital workers, and a young intern doctor and the nurse whom he loves.

In The Midnight Hour is a thrilling story that contains multiple plot lines and keeps the reader wondering how they all fit together. It’s packed with detailed medical terminology and hospital procedures; clearly the author knows his stuff in this regard. And the ending is action packed and surprising, but also satisfying.

My only complaint about this story is that I find that there is sometimes TOO much detail. Many of the characters are fleshed out by giving backstory, and while this is certainly a good thing, I find some of this backstory to be unnecessary. Also, while the detailed medical descriptions would likely be fascinating to some, I found them a bit hard to follow. These things, however, may simply be my own opinion, and despite them I found the story to be incredibly well-crafted and hard to put down. I would recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a good thriller.

First, the blurb is excillent and the story moves like a heavy fog dissolving in the air.....it was a great work Mr. Ridgway!

Another action packed story, Reggie with great characters to care about.
