I tend to do this in many of my stories, that is, allow the reader to figure some things out for him/herself without being too obvious. There are hints as to who said what and who came upstairs, and I think if you re-read the ending carefully you might get it. But I'm certainly glad you enjoyed it overall!

Well, this was a surprise. A very.. crazy story I must say. However, the ending was a tad hard to understand. Who said the last line? And did the parents come upstairs, or were those burglars? It was confusing at that point.

But the story overall was entertaining, with a surprising ending that I didn't expect.

about this story,is how the circumstances in which the family finds itself, is revealed along with the plot and it's ending. But then this is a story written by Preston, what did I expect? Enjoyable, and in my favourites.
