It was a great read...and the ending was something I wouldn't of expected, but you ended the story really well. Over all I loved the book. You have my vote. :)
This is well written and draws you in with the first sentence. Very well done.
I came over to give you my vote, you already know how much I love this book.
That's an entirely possible sequence of events for some of the patrons. I'm a former New Yorker, and while this fact (and the clues about the date and time) gave away the probable ending, I still found it so compellingly written that I read through to the end. That's something I rarely do on this topic because it's still very painful, and speaks volumes for your writing skill. Here's my vote.
I've found another amazing story from a young writer. What is the deal here, are all the young writers this good? Wow. I was wondering the whole time how you would end this story and what a way you did it. Nicely done. Yes, young lady, you got my vote. I feel sorry for the judges
The ending is what made this story, honestly i found myself having a bit of a hard time getting into it at first but the ending pulled it together and made it much less...fluffy I suppose. I'm sure you'll at least get third place in the contest if not second or first.
What did I expect other than a very Literary piece of work from you, Beth?
I wondered as I read the short details of the various characters, exactly how they'd meet and what would be the result. I sensed on the next to the last page what might be coming. Moving.
You write with beautiful clarity and depth. Excellent, excellent piece...again.
beth.. this is amazing. i absolutely LOVED it.
