Our writing styles are so different, I don’t think it would be possible for me to write anything for you that wouldn’t stick out like a comedian at a mime convention. Besides, it’s whole scenes you need. Luckily, though, there are plenty of places for you to put them, and I’m sure you’ll do just fine once you sit down to write them. In the beginning when Ebony flips Deon’s plate, you can have him remember the pleasant breakfasts they used to have together, flashing back to a specific instance and bringing it to life with description and dialogue. Then you could end it off with something like, “Remembering didn’t make tolerating this new Ebony easier, though. If anything, it made the transformation just that much more unattractive.”

Another place you can add a revelatory scene is when he’s thinking about their first meeting. Give me details that show the person Ebony was: what did she say to him, what did they talk to him about, what were her aspirations before him? And then, when he’s handcuffed to the bed and she’s gone, he can briefly compare that encounter to how sex used to be with her (I imagine it wasn’t so weird :D).

You don’t have to use all of these or any of them really, it would just be good glimpse actual proof (in the form of images and not words) that she was once a reasonable human being. I’m afraid that’s the most I can give, though. I think you'll be fine, though.

Great! I was thinking more along those lines so let me get to work on it. It doesn't hurt to ask for the opinion of others, that's if fellow writers/authors aren't too high on a cloud they can't be receptive in lending a helping hand.
