this was a fun piece to read. you have treated this simple tale of infatuation and love with tenderness and humor. the language throughout is fine except at one or two places where i think the perfect tense would have been better (we came to see... we had come/gone to see?) anyway, as this is about puppy (lion?!) love it is important to get the tone and feeling right. and you that well.
