In a few very short chapters, you managed to give your characters a background, personality, emotions built from a lifetime of varying experiences - wow! Keep writing, writing, writing: I have a feeling you don't realize just how good a writer you are! :D

oh yeah I'd be willing to change it. It would have been longer but this was my entry for the 'Young Writer of the Year' contest and the word limit was 3k. Once the contest is over I might go back and expand it.
You have a talent for writing and this is a great story. You should add more to it and create a full fledged novel! I would absolutely buy an entire book that was written in this style and about these characters.
Maybe this could be the start to the book, then you could show these two characters over the next few years and in the end have them end up meeting again?

Ok, this story is so awesome! However, I did notice that your sentences do get kind of long. And they seem to never end! Unfortunately, this makes me want to skip over the sentence and keep going. So watch out that you shorten some of the sentences, or put commas in where they're needed.
Otherwise, this story is amazing. Absolutely amazing! Ah, I want to cry.
