A delightful tale of a memory past that still lives in the present.
Hi Miranda, I just wanted to say that I really loved this short piece. You do such an amazing job of filling your reader with such emotion, the images were beautifully written. I was touched by your words, and the moment the baby opens her eyes and sneezes, I thought it was absolutely adorable. I felt like I was there, witnessing this tiny miracle.
Good luck and I can't wait to see what you have in store for your next book. :)
Thanks so much for your lovely comments. You too write beautifully and I hope to read more of your work.
What a beautiful story!
Thank you Patricia! I enjoyed your poems too, especially the one about the spider..
Dear Miranda, your pen has sketched a beautiful sneeze of a tiny baby born prematurely.your description of the sneeze as faint whisper is very nice.To quote you,"the very first and the joy of that moment still pierces my heart like an arrow accross the gentle arc of the years"....this line is very grand and beautiful. Thank you my dear for sharing the beautiful small piece with us. Thank you for your immediate response on... mehr anzeigen

Thanks for the comments Petra. Good of you to vote
grabbed me by the heart, Miranda! So poignant and the emotions expressed were so vivid! I felt the anxiety and the joy of relief. Such a wonderful ending, thankfully, for you!
Good luck, Miranda! Petra :))
Your story captures the most wonderful gift of GOD, that of giving birth to a tiny human being from nothingness...His first cry, his first touch, his first sneeze will certainly linger on in your memory forever...Thnx for shering your experience with us. Voted.
Thanks so much for the nice comments, and for the vote!
Much too soon...I was caught in the moment, a by-stander, stilled in one of life's most mysterious gifts...the birth of a child. I was pulled into your awe, joy, fear, and wonderment. But...much too soon did you let me go; I was poised to hear more, to share in the touch-and-go struggle, to cry tears of relief, to feel your heart swell in victory. True, the last sentence was telling, but the onset was so powerful a scene that... mehr anzeigen
Thank you for the nice comments Elizabeth. I know, it is very short. It was actually the first piece of non-academic writing I did, four years ago when I attended a one-off writing day. We were asked to write a description of a person in ten minutes. It wasn't quite what they... mehr anzeigen
Hi Miranda - lovely name - lovely story. Personally I feel the brevity complements the title and the content - it says it all. Prems are always traumatic - but they bring an extra special blessing as they develop. You have captured the moment which is what a short story is all about - perfect. JOHN
Thank you John, it was actually the first non-academic piece I wrote, four years ago. We held a one-off writing day here in Cranbrook and were given ten minutes to write a description of someone. It wasn't really a description, but my goodness it all poured out unexpectedly!... mehr anzeigen
I liked your story, your sharing of your experience. I personally believe that the story is a tad too short. Perhaps a longer story would hook the readers' attention more. Just a suggestion. Keep writing. Voted!
Thanks Tim, kind words, though The Road to Jerusalem might be more up your street..
