Oh, yeah, we watched, or at least what parts I could stand. Will the Ducks never learn to pass that ball. It kills me. Well, at least they made it to the Rose Bowl. That's something.

Very touching. After I finished I tried to find somewhere to tell me if it was a true story. I hope not, but if so I hope she found a better life after this one. The last sentence was very thought provoking.
A couple minor little nits for you:
When you use the semicolon you don't cap the first word after.
. . . I was only knocking on womanhood's door; Nobody was answering. (nobody is not capped, it's basically all one sentence.)

I had to go back in and try to decipher what my own message was. I think it's a little clearer in my own head now, and I've made a few alterations to the story (and blurb). Thank you for your mind and memory jogging comment. And yes...this is a true story, with 25 years worth of soul-searching after-the-fact..

Touching! After reading this story, I wondered what it meant to you as the writer. It left me wondering did you relate this because its true. I understand at the end you give the lesson.. never give up on someone you love.. but you told it and took it deep enough that the point was like, uh huh.. is that really what you want us to know.. Do you know what I mean? Great story and way deep!
