Many people don't think that far into the future unfortunately (for the animals). I pray for the day when every animal born to the world is properly cared for (domestic or otherwise), and animal shelters are no longer a necessary part of our throw-away society.

When I read something like this I agonize over what I'm reading. Why don't people take the time to look at what their future is going to look like. We should not ever need shelters for animals. If you can't or won't give this animal a decent home, don't purchase it. You should never trry to use an animal as a status symbol.
