Beautiful poem about conflicting feelings of joy and sadness brought about by our yearly ritual of cutting down an evergreen tree and displaying it as a Christmas tree. You made a good decision at the end.

I now use two metal-skeletor cyborg-treelings, but this year may have to fore-go any added traditional frills. I have three 'foundling' kittens in my space-capsule, and they have much curiosity. beep.

That's why I buy an artificial tree - it's visual "tofu" for tree-lovers!! I enjoyed your poetry and the flow of each verse...you made your point clear and it was entertaining all the way through!

I'm not sure that this would be a great children's book as I'm sure the poor children would all be in floods of tears at the end of it...I felt pretty sad, and I'm 58!
I like the idea very much and the imagery is good. I could see you both taking your Chrismas drinks and you dressing the dear tree up to make him look good. My only reservation is that sometimes it doesn't scan quite right - the rhythm isn't quite right because... mehr anzeigen
