In your brief story I felt the heart of Naomi and in a simple gesture of giving the young girl the rose, she showed her compassion. Good job my friend.

Thanks Sereni.
Many times it's those who have the least who are the most generous.

It is on the same lines as that woman with only one pancake to feed her son and she gives it away to Ellijah. We are the only species that hoards. I will read it sooner than later.

Bobby

I read it. Truer work of art. It is like that little poem I read in school, LUCY Gray by William Wordsworth. He says as she gathers flowers from the garden, she looks sad as she hums some meloncholy song or s'thing on those lines.

I am impressed. Sometimes Gold liers in OLD.

Bobby

Spelling mistakes. True and not truer. Gold lies in the OLD.

Thanks all. I've seen many 'invisible' when I worked in Montreal...young and old.

Circumstances of life narrated so well, and with your usual flair for painting a character. Thanks for creating, Laz. BTW, the cover is excellent:)

Such a beautifully written story - it has hints of The Little Match Girl but unlike it - almost like an extension of that tragic tale. After all--what if TLMG, who died so sadly came back and made a spot for herself at the corner of Hope and Inspiration? Like you point out she's not really seen by people too busy to notice her. In our hectic world we pass 100s of people and yet we never 'see' them -- until we go looking for... mehr anzeigen

On the corner of Hope and Inspiration, where such wonderful stories spring? Simple, but extremely poignant, Laz. I'm sure this is more common than we realize, if we opened our eyes...

I like it, it's pure life, thoughts and story’s behind the faces you see in the streets day by day. When I’m walking around in the streets of big cities like Chennai, Cairo, Beijing, Amsterdam, Cologne, Victoria or Hamburg and look at people, I often ask myself what they might thing, how/what their life looks like …

Sometimes I can get in touch and manage to get a little climbs.

What a well-expressed observation and insight into those we so readily ignore! You point out - without carrying on for pages about it - how those whose pain is deepest are drawn to each other more readily than those whose lives are easy. That momentary acknowledgment between the girl and the flower lady was more personal and had more depth than any careless greeting a more "fortunate" pair of individuals might toss at one... mehr anzeigen

This was beautifully sad Laz! Makes me wonder about her past and hope for her future.
