We are told never to use a pronoun to open a paragraph.

I didn't click that the female was a woman til' later.

Suspense is what you were after, but it confused me. I was asking myself, is this the cougar or a woman?

This is my own fault as I am highly analytical when it comes to descritions.

You have a couple tense slips, but otherwise it was dialogue-wise well written.
