I like it, but only because I'm a girl. I think that most girls who read it will like it, but it is very unrealistic, not that writing has to be realistic. I recently read a book called "The Woman in the Wall" that is similar to yours in the idea of a family forgetting one of its members. But girls in general write about boys in a way that they wish could be true. However, you have a good balance between fantasy boys and real boys. You need to keep writing... It is kinda too short as it is. But good.

Also, I have liked a boy named Jacob for a while so that makes me like it more I guess... :)
