This is a really good book. Take it from a 15 year old that actually knows about stuff like this. I love your storyline and how you describe Shasta's feelings. You definitly have our language correct.

But the thing is your too formal. Your description is precise but you need to get people to really feel like they are there you know?

Other than that it's a really good book and will be in my favorites

I can see, after having read 2, that upon the completion of this book, I'm going to HAVE to add it to my library. If for no other reason than it's a reference for "How To Write". You've latched onto first pov as though you'd been born to it. That's the first thing. Shasta is everyone's idea of Hero. You've nailed her. Some of the extremely clever sentence descriptions made me laugh and say (to myself:), "Now why can't you describe that way?" Ie., "On the dark side, that slim thing includes a noticeable..." Just excellent. And that's only one instance of your ability to describe (hilariously) without actually describing. The image is perfect.

You move us through Shasta's day so smoothly. That's not an easy thing for a writer to do. As I read, I'm standing "up here" fully immersed, seeing everything; seeing into her head. What an interesting place!

I'm quite certain that you ARE Shasta as you write. Slightly off-center, smart as hell, vocal in a pithy way that grabs hold and won't let go of me. Can't wait for Chapter 3. And then 4. And then...

Wow, I love this book!! I wish you continue it!! It's great, I want to know what happens to Shasta!! **Weird name, reminds me of pasta, but it's cool**

Scenario: I don't have any idea who you are--just some teen writer (assumption). I happen upon your story, and although the cover doesn't knock me out (I'm a guy, and images of bunnies eating cookies doesn't make me sigh or get all fuzzy), I like the little blurb, though. Like the title, too. Has an open-ended feel to it. Promise, I guess you might say.

I click "Read Book".

Oh man, she writes in long paragraphs! This might take me 15 minutes to read! Should I click out? Nah, I'll wade through this first...huh? Wait a sec. It's good. No, really grabs me! I like this Shasta right off the bat. The wallflower, just let me get through this last year unnoticed kind of character. So far she's been lucky, it seems, but today she's going to have to give a speech she isn't prepared for...trouble, I'm guessing.

I don't want to give anything else away, so I'll stop talking. Gotta' say this, though. Whoever this Colella gal is (is she a high school senior? Betting she is because Shasta sounds so real), she can write. And there are no spelling or grammar errors that I pick up on.

Well, anyway, I'm totally into the story by page 2. Zip right through to the...why did it end so quickly? I want to read more!

A really fun read.
Now, since you haven't gone into any great detail as to what Sashta looks like, I cannot help conjuring up the image of Mary...from the film 'Mary and Max'.
