I like the concept of your little stories of circumstance and character flows and how they can influence the direction a life can take. Although I haven't finished reading the whole book, I can suggest a few corrections.

Sixth line from the bottom on page 6
Consider:
No one ever denied he was a hard worker.

Page 9, middle of page
Consider:
“Her position afforded her a high standard of living”

Page 10

If they drooled on her., why the next line?
“Failing in the way she turned them off made her change jobs.”
