Some people say that you can speak things into existence, maybe make an impossibility possible simply by concentrating on it enough. This story, to me, is both scary and sad. I fell like Cori could have turned things around if she had just not worried so much about it, but I guess that's the whole point.

Either you can't stop worrying about an unknown future or you worry enough to make it happen. Who really knows?
