And yet, Congressional Republicans seem OK going along with the president's
shoot from the hip policy making. Let's assume for a moment that Mr. Blow is
correct and that Trump's tweet was an ill formed idea that he likes, Fox and
Friends supports and sponsors of that program endorse but his own
administration, cabinet and Congress in their heart actually oppose. That
means some back tracking will follow soon, right? No, I don't think so. I note
that Paul Ryan just announced that he opposes the new tariffs, which is step 1
in his typical legislative/policy process. Step 2 is when he capitulates
completely to the president and agrees that the tariffs are wonderful.

Thank you for your letter and your offer to have a discussion. As someone who
has an interest in
becoming a firefighter and therefore by definition
these days a health care provider you will learn
first hand what some of these weapons do to the
human body. The type of weapon does matter.
The number of rounds does matter. Whether it
is semi automatic or fully automatic does matter.
The fact that the weapon is a frontline weapon of
war whose only purpose is to kill someone with
one shot at 200 yards does matter. That a high
velocity round even of relatively low mass completely destroys an organ like
the liver for example does matter.

There are a lot of things to
consider about this issue. We live in a densely populated world, even in New
England. People
make mistakes. People have mental illness. Assault rifles just do what they
were designed to do. They kill people very
effectively. While the slogan about who does the killing the person or the gun
was written to
end the discussion it does no such thing.

Caring for someone’s child who has been
shot like that sears the images and crushing futility into your memory. I just
retired after a
long career in a big city very busy acute care
pediatric anesthesia practice. I have seen a lot
and some of what I’ve seen does matter.

So let’s have the discussion and see where we
get.

Makes sense--for about second. The weight of blanket tariffs falls firstly on
a country that also suffers from worldwide steel producing overcapacity:
Canada. Yet its steel and aluminum are produced under working conditions and a
governmental environment much like the US.

China is the only country worth talking about regarding overcapacity, and it
exports a trivial proportion of its steel production to the US. So these
tariffs will be little more than a nuisance to China. In Canada they are
already polarizing a wide swath of the population in support of a strong
governmental response against nakedly unfair treatment by the US.

Moreover, US steel producers of late have been doing very well.

they are come to the adoption, the women help six babies. I think they are

I hope they can save us baby boomers from ourselves and save their future from
our very imperfect efforts - I'm feeling much more inspired by them than
anyone in my age group at the moment.

The 11 year old Naiomi, with her wild hair and cool delivery slayed me like I
haven't been since Obama's first campaign- if she wrote the text she's a truly
exceptional prodigy but even if she got a lot of help it was a spellbinding
performance. Others were great too.

Whatever they accomplish in the next few year they certainly make me hopeful
that they will tailor a much better future for themselves than what we've
created for them.

Just think it's so counterproductive and even ill that our compulsive
President can't stay off Twitter and just handle this professionally and even
