I think this is one of my FAVE favorites of yours, PatCat! I agree with Glynis - this is a book that deserves to be put on a self in a big name bookstore!
Well, well, well, you've done it again. I was surprised at how real Amelia's voice was; who knew you could capture an 8-year-old so perfectly? I'm not all the way finished yet, but no doubt I will be soon. Another awesome piece of work from one of my favourite BookRix authors :)
Patrick! OMG! I love this story, love your protagonist's voice and her strength. You should send this off to the publishers, it is that good! I'm a slow reader, but I put my WIP down and a few editing jobs, to finish this story. I think you should promote this book, if not here, then to the Big Publishing Houses. I'm still reading the others in the contest, but your story has blown me away!

I'm about half-way through, but had to add this to my favourites and comment. The dialogue completely worked for me and added a dimension to the story that gave authenticity and humour. I felt completely drawn in and it really brought the characters to life. I think this story is a real winner and hope everyone gives it the attention it deserves.
Instead of editing book info at the create page, I would like to simply add one or two things to the description.
Closer To Heaven is narrated first pov by Amelia, an 8 year-old girl. I endeavored to remain authentic from that perspective, misspelling a few words here and there, and repeating certain sentences and phrases, which I hear children do as they talk. It was risky. I hope I did it right.
