Other than spelling scarlet with two "t"s, this is PERFECT! I think it's among the best of your best, and when the voting starts, I'll be there casting mine. Pat, this is a gorgeous piece of dark fiction, an entire story suggested by a mere 100 words for each character's POV, and it has that lingering quality achieved by only the very best writers.
