This was such a great story. I loved it from beginning to end. It's one of those stories I wish I could have written.

I am speechless with this story. Every paragraph was filled with so much emotion. The last paragraph however made my heart skip, it is absolutely a great story. I would definitely buy it if I ever saw it in stores just for the joy of collecting such a wonderful story. As I read the story, you had the capability of making me forget that I was reading and actually made me believe I was living and experiencing what he was experiencing. You are an amazing writer. Awesome as ever. A poignant story, driven and desperate, hope against hope in a barren waste of hopelessness.

I'm not sure I want to say I like because it certainly leaves no opening for a happy ending but then watching us kill, maim, and rape including our land, it is hard to see a happy ending in the natural.

The last book I read of Stephen King's was the Stand and I could see the parallel with the aids epidemic and the overwhelming despair that encompasses.

When I saw the theme announced I thought, "End of the World...hmmm. A very much explored theme in literature and movies...what can I do?"

In the back of my mind, subconsciously, I know I was thinking of McCarthy's masterpiece, "The Road." I only knew that a man must devote the end days to an innocent, and that he MUST...I won't give away the ending two or three sentences for those who haven't yet read it...but, I tried my VERY best to create a moving story.
It moves me greatly to read the comments, and I humbly thank all of you for taking the time to read Maggie.
