It is a frightening story, Elizabeth. And very soulful! I could feel her sitting in her car and picturing her puppy. She remembers her friend well. I could feel her pain. Yes, I too, hope she gets her ice cream cone. It is sometimes the simple pleasures we remember.

This was very good. Frightening, because it could happen to any of us. You held my undivided attention to the very last word. I assume the poor woman had Alzheimer’s. I think it is a terrible way to end your twilight years. We are supposed to get to relax, enjoy our family. Heartbreaking to watch when it happens to someone you love. I felt so sorry for her. Repression is one of the most haunting concepts in psychology. Something shocking happens, and the mind pushes it into some inaccessible corner of the unconscious. Later, the memory may emerge into consciousness.Excellent book.Voted.
