It is a frightening story, Elizabeth. And very soulful! I could feel her sitting in her car and picturing her puppy. She remembers her friend well. I could feel her pain. Yes, I too, hope she gets her ice cream cone. It is sometimes the simple pleasures we remember.

This was very good. Frightening, because it could happen to any of us. You held my undivided attention to the very last word. I assume the poor woman had Alzheimer’s. I think it is a terrible way to end your twilight years. We are supposed to get to relax, enjoy our family. Heartbreaking to watch when it happens to someone you love. I felt so sorry for her. As always, your writing is excellent. It is so nice to read someone’s work and not have to feel like I need my red pen in hand. The only detail I might change is the tendency to use a semicolon when making a new, full sentence would possibly read better. I say possibly, because this is a personal preference thing. Keep up the good work and I wish you all the best in this contest. I think this is the best story I’ve read so far. Most assuredly, the one with the fewest editing issues needing attention.
