You are a wonderful writer and your book was the first one that I saved to my favorites. You have a terrific career ahead and you have youth on your side, so you will do great things. Let me just say, that although Learntoloveme raised a good point, i disagree with him entirely. I think your story was fantastic and even though i've been stressing these past few days because of how close you and I have become in this race for the thousand, I still agree with what i said before. Your story deserves the votes. Your story is fantastic and although i hope i win, i will bear no hard feelings towards you or anyone else who wins this contest. I too have asked many friends and family members to come and read my book. And i always encourage them to join the site because it is a great site to join if you are an aspiring writer or even an avid reader. Whether they vote for my story or not, that is up to them. But, i agree, the makers of the site probably do want us to encourage others to join. If not, they would not have made this contest the way they did. I wish you all the best in this contest. You might be right. I might have some family and friends who are voting for me who have not even read the book. That would be very doscouraging to me to think they are only voting for me out of familial obligation. Going forward, I hope that anyone who logs on and joins the site to vote will read the book, which is what it was intended for, before they vote for me or anyone else. FAMILY & FRIENDS please read my book before you vote. I do not want to do this in anything but a fair and equitable way. Thank you 'learntoloveme' for pointing out the obviously glaring disparity that I did not notice. I think that I was so busy getting a big head, thinking that my story was THAT GOOD, that I didn't notice. God Bless

Again, I hope this doesn't become something that causes bad feelings for anyone. I only entered my story because friends told me it was very good, and I wanted to 'cleanse my soul' as it were. Perhaps I don't deserve the votes. I certainly never meant to cause problems for anyone. I don't know what to do about it now. God Bless.

Yes. You are absolutely right, this is not a popularity contest. It's not supposed to be about knowing the most people willing to vote for you. it's suppose to be about having more people read your story, and enjoy it enough to vote for it. I actually read this story, and I did enjoy it very much. I planned to vote for it, until I saw that there were somehow, only 40 clicks, and more than 60 votes. so that means, atleast 20 of the "members" who voted for this story never even read the story in the first place. It is highly possible that this is infact the best story on this list, but we will never know, because friends and family members are the ones voting. I see only 5 people who have left a comment on this book that have been a member longer than five days. Stick to your words madness... allow this to be a literary contest, and NOT a popularity contest. I apologize for the offense Donna. I really do, I just find it suspicious is all. You really are a wonderful writer. And i am sorry that all of this happened to you. My regards.

I am very sad to see you write something like that 'learntoloveme'. Actually, my kids and grandkids have been letting all of their friends know that my story is on the site and I hope that they are tuning in to read and vote. This is the first time I have ever really written anything to be read by lots of folks. I am flattered that you said my story is very good and well written. Perhaps that has something to do with the number of votes that I have acquired. I'm sure we have all asked our friends and loved ones to read our works and vote for us if they choose to do so. I don't believe that getting the word out past our own little literary circle is cheating. I do hope that many people will log in and vote. Just so that you know, I am an old grandma lady who can barely figure out how to check my own email and my husband had to help me figure out how to download my story onto the site, so I wouldn't know how to cheat even if I wanted to. My mind doesn't even work in that kind of sinister manner anyway. Maybe if there are new folks who are signing up to read my story and vote, they will decide that they like the site and stay on to write and read more books. I wish you luck in all you do. it seems pretty evident to a lot of people, that although your story is good, and very well written, you are most definitely cheating in some way. Especially since most of the people who have voted for you and left comments like, 'i hope you have more stories for "US"' are only members long enough to vote for you, and pretend to actually be a member of this site... therefore, i refuse to vote for you... sorry. I just hope that the people running this contest will figure it out before a person that is cheating wins when people who are not cheating deserve it more.
