Hi Dennis. Yours was actually the first book I read here on bookrix when I joined, probably because of your networking skills! I didn't comment on it before, but am more in the habit of doing that now.
I like what you have to say, and was interested by the different feel of 'Temple of Love' and 'November..' in particular.
Dennis,
Your images of the ski resort made me feel as though I was in the lodge watching the lift ascend to the top of the mountain. I felt many emotions in your poetry. Well done ... a vote for your book!
Linda
Nice personifications
''Rainbows connect sky to earth
and
''The moon's eye follows my every movement''
Nice story poems
I enjoy your style of writing and I have never read a book
so impressive as this one.
I am at a ski resort in Austria where my wife and friends are skiing. But after 2 new metal knees and 10 operations 'Winter is not for skiing for me'! Nice poems. Suggest "And Gulliver Returns" at http://andgulliverreturns.info for your environmental interests.
I must strive to learn how to lay things out like in this book.
The poems themselves are great and a pleasure to read
Your poetry is powerful and filled with strong imagery, and I found some of the poems very moving. "God has Forgotten" is my favorite. People seem to have missed the point I feel: You're just saying that in the dead of Winter it seems as though God has forgotten, that is until all the shoots spring up again and the buds open. Anyway I loved it.
I am new on here and hope we can all enjoy each others works .I just ebtered a selection of mine in the winters contest as well but still needs some editing Im newat this computor stuff so please be patient with me .Its late but tomorrow I will get back and syuure read this book
I found your poems very inspiring and appreciated the chronological ordering. Even though I was only going to read a couple, I found myself turning the page over and over.
Beautiful pictures at the beginning. There were several poems I could connect with in this. Brings back memories of when I was a kid sledding down the hills. Great fun. My favorite was "God has Forgotten." It is easy to think in this day and age that he has, but like the poem says, all we have to do is open our eyes and see. Touching, thank you. I gave you a vote.
