My favorite line:
"When I sit down to write,
tragedy spits in my eye."
Can I relate to that!
Carmen
Thanks for the pleasure of reading. I liked your poetry. You have good skills, and I definitely liked the way you organized the work so it ties together. BTW I lived in Arlington, Virginia in 1965.
One star and one vote for you!
Carmen
magnificent book, Dennis, and often heartwrenching, but the beauty always comes out. Bravo, bravissimo.
Albert,
Wow!! I am deeply moved by your thoughts. Many many thanks.
Peace,
Dennis
Hi Dennis,
Interesting to see the themes running through nearly forty years of writing - the transience of winter, the beauty of sunlight on a snow-covered scene etc. This book has everything from great sorrow to self-deprecating humour.
I liked your style in that your words evoked images of what you experienced in a very vivid way. It wasn't hard to imagine what you were describing. Nice work.
A Great Chunk of Personal Experiences.
It is indeed very true, and quite obvious that write-ups of such deep reflections draw heavily from personal experiences and sensibilities of the writers. Very reflective in retrospect and with a plaintive undertone.
I like your mixture of seriousness spiced with a very hilarious sense of humour. You made me laugh uncontrollably with the vivid picture you painted with your dramatic fall... mehr anzeigen
Hi Dela,
Thanks so much for your comments and your insight.
Peace,
Dennis
For me anyway! Dark December was very sad. I like I came upon a snow-filled field too.
Thanks for your comments.
Hi I have read your poems and I like the dying dear one-quite a visual read. In the first poem - should the line trees without a delicte leave... be actually leaf? The article 'a' dictates the singular. Or you could leave out the 'a' and make leaves plural and that would be correct.
Anyway, very nice. I have voted for you. I was going to enter myself but did not have enough to make the min pages.
Thank you for your vote and your thoughts. I re-edited the line to read, "Trees without leaves, taste white delicacies.."
Hi Dennis,
Your poetry is moving, thoughtful, and definitely soulful. My favorites were "Temple of Love" and "Clicking of Steel Boots", both of which had cautionary messages tucked within verses that reflect a true reverence for Nature. Thank you for sharing, and best of luck to you in this contest.

Hi Carmen,
Many thanks for your kind words, your star and vote. I lived in Arlington 1970-1973, while I was at Georgetown Dental School in DC.
Peace,
Dennis
