I never read Stephen King nor do I read other books of this genre. Although, the ending is somewhat suprising, It didn't overwhelm me with fear. It would have been more effective(to my mind) if the lights suddenly came on and she looks up at her mother and sees a demented look on her face as she reaches for her throat and says "no one will ever take you away from me"

But I still liked it! House of Leaves has a heart breaking scene of letters between a mother and son that this reminded me of.

You were telling the truth, that was disturbing! You are truely warped just like Stephen King! Great Story, I loved it!

Really like your flow and how you compacted a lot into a few lines. You write well. Kept my interest.
