This story is like a joke. Jokes are short and end with a punchline. Most of my stories are like that....it's the reason I enjoyed this one.

Finally got over here and read your work. To say I loved it would to say I laughed through this wonderful story. And yes Jack was a fool. Great write.
The dialog is confusing. I read it twice just to be sure I had the right idea and then read through some of the other comments. It’s just as I thought, but it still seems it could be a little clearer as to whether and when the man is rambling and when he’s answering a question from the other person who is not important to the internal dilemma this man seems to be unaware of. it's not a settled question whether my protagonist is truly aware of his earlier self or just intentionally living a convenient amnesia. i chose to live with the mystery.

Really nice story. I wasn't expecting the ending but that is what kept me reading till the end.
To me it seamed like a House episode where the patience lost his memory because of the stroke and the family didn't tell him anything because they liked the new guy better. Maybe a bit silly but that is just my honest opinion. I get the whole "starting over" idea but I don't understand if the accident made him alter his personality... mehr anzeigen
