It should of course read 'Duel by magic' and not Dual by magic.

Certainly fine native English, something I read to young children as a teacher. You must have expanded considerable on the spoken Berber tale. Did you have half of it in writing before you expanded?
Dear Stanis,
Thanks for reading my story and casting your vote. I enjoyed your's too, although it is very, very sad.

Dear Bek,
Thanks for the kind comment. I repeated the phrase by the grace of God, because it seemed appropriate for a legend. However, I'll go back and read it and perhaps follow your advice.
All the best

Hi Betty,
You have a fantastic plot, a real gem of a story. I enjoyed the reading. You have a nice light tone, which suited your story.
I like some of you clever lines like slipping in Y's remarks on Tamment's best tea, when really it has the draught.
Your choice of foods for breakfast seemed to fit the time perfectly.
Only thing I could suggest was on your opening page, you've used ...by the grace of god... twice within several... mehr anzeigen
Thank you for taking the time to read this story. I was just the narrator of this Berber legend. What is so delightful about legends and fairy tales from different countries is that they all seem to be about the same kind of human dramas.
I hope your children enjoy it Calvaster.
All the best

I enjoyed your story. It was a well put together piece. Thanks for sharing this with us. Keep up the great work, Betty! It's a story worth reading to my little darlings. Keep that muse on fire. =-)
Dear Elinjo
My favorite kind of bedtime story! The hero was a bit of a rogue, but I like them that way, so enjoyed the character you gave him. I also love happy endings, and feel the same way about fairy tales as when I was a little girl reading them out loud to my brother.
A fun read! Thanks (and keep writing!)

Dear Stanis,
Thanks for reading my book and enjoying its escapism.
I think our real world is magical too thanks to the wonders of the internet.
Look after yourself!

Dear Neil,
My friend gave me just a skeleton. He told me that his mother used to tell him the story when he was a child. Originally I was merely going to translate the tale from Esperanto into English. However as I wrote in the preface my imagination got the better of me; so in the end the story was ten times longer than the original.
Thank you for your kind comments.
Best wishes
