I applaud you as well. This is a great story, written very well. It is horrible to forget one's existence like that. I liked the ending.

Bravo, Barry! The almost-fractured images of the old man in the hospital, the woman, the feelings of warmth and sorrow for having "missed" in life. Great opening and middle...and then the warm resolution. A-1 writing, my friend.
