Yesterday, the U.K. Prime Minister, Theresa May announced in a speech before
the British Parliament that it was ""highly likely"" that the Russians were
behind the poisonings in Wiltshire, England. Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson
had the temerity to concur publicly with the assessment of our greatest ally.
Today, he has been dismissed without notification. If there is one line that
cannot be crossed in this administration, it is that of saying anything--
anything--that implicates Putin in unlawful activity. To me, Tillerson's
firing elevates the Russia investigation to a matter of grave concern for the
security of our nation.
Where are the adults? Who will defend our nation against these attacks? Could
it be that the Russians are holding information gleaned from the heretofore
unreleased hack of the RNC over other key Republicans besides Trump?
Mitt Romney was passed over for the Secretary of State position when he didn't
meet with Putin's approval. Now, Tillerson. We know, given the comments he
made in Germany about Russian interference, that McMaster isn't long for Trump
world. Also, given his friendship with Tillerson, the odds have gone up
considerably that Mattis will soon resign or be forced out. And Kelly? Having
already shown himself to be a liar and a bigot, he may yet survive. But the
thing he has going against him--and it's a doozy--is his unwillingness to
facilitate Kushner's self-serving machinations.
So much for ""stabilizing influences.""
