You told a very nice story. You managed to capture the mini-universe that is the subway with its myriad types of people.
Thanks for taking me on your ride. People watching is better than going to the zoo! How fun!
Nice job.
I could smell the subway while reading your story. Adn I haven/t been in a tunnel in 50+ years. Well done!
Adn no spelling or grammatical crap to bother me - Unless I was so wrapped up in it that I failed to notice them....
Your words painted the picture for me since I have never been to New york, and you held my interest. I have seen some of the very same people on the boardwalk in Venice.Good job I'm glad I read it.
Thank you very much :) I hope to post more of these poems up soon, I might start a train series or a NYC series...
I'm from Manhattan and had an intimate knowledge of the subway system, mostly the Lexington line. Anyway, your descriptions brought back a lot of memories - extremely well-told, and good sense of humor (sprawlers who take up two seats are the worst, but especially if they're guys in shorts, lol)!
There's an immediacy about the composition that really made this poem shine. I felt the swaying, saw the characters in all their New York oddness and glory. Excellent, Angely :)
:) I love subways, they're a breeding ground for oddities
Reminds me of the strange encounters I had on the trains in Germany.
