Chapter one- 15

 

Chapter one

“As you walk out in the world now as young women.” As my Principle went on and on about us leaving the school I was day dreaming about college at A.N.T and drumming with the line with my cousin the section leader. I got my diploma and sat back down. No one was there to cheer me on my mother was always against my leaving cause then she wouldn’t have her punching bag or drug buyer for her any more. My cousin texted me and told me to come to come to Lincoln Park. I was walking trying to find Tyree when hands came over my eyes. I turned around to find my cousin smiling down at me “Tyree quit playin” “Congrats baby cuz” He handed me a pair of new sticks and new Nikes because I also dance. I looked down and cried because he’s the one of the only people whose cared about me. “Aww cuz don’t cry. I don’t think that your daddy would like that” My mom told me that my dad doesn’t even know about me but he is one of the reasons I want to go to A.N.T he is the director for the line there but she doesn’t know that I know. This is him this is me my name is Danielle and this is my story.

Chapter Two

I got home to see my mom snorting coke like usual when she saw me she went off. “WHERE WAS YO DUMBASS THIS MORNIN?!” “I was at my graduation ceremony” She slapped me and yelled “Yo dumbass not goin to college bet you didn’t get accepted anywhere. Did ya?” “I got full scholarship to A.N.T so I don’t have to pay I’m leaving right now everything is already packed up and ready to go.” She almost shouted at me again when a man came in and sat down next to my momma. He looked at me and smirked and I looked down. He was a drug dealer known to this area. My mom ran her hand up and down his. “Meet yo new daddy he will be living here” My mom is completely insane. He stands up and nods at me “Hey joe” I said. He looks me up and down and licks his lips. He is really starting to creep me out. As if on que Tyree comes in and see’s Joe. He gets protective and tense when he sees the gun on Joe’s hip “Dani go get your things and cover up your eye.” I nodded and ran upstairs to get my bags. When all my bags where in the trunk I went back inside to get Ty and leave. When we got in the car he sped off to get away from Joe. To my future.

 

Chapter Three

“I can’t believe that I’m here.” He was about to respond back when two thots walked passed “Hey Ty come help us unpack” “I’ll be with yall in a minute just lemme get my cousin settled in first.” They said something else and he nodded. He turned to me and smirked. “I told you I get mad respect as section leader. So you know if you make the line you gon have to bow down to” “First off really that’s what you like ty” He looked back at them and shrugged as I raised my brow “What? What’s wrong with her” I just shook my head. “I know your section leader cuz I’ll listen don’t worry” He nodded while we were walking a girl stopped me and she looked like this “Dani spencer right” I nodded. “I looked you up on face book I’m your new roomie Tasha. “I know I tried to look you up to” “I deleted that account. College is all about reinvention, all you need to know is I’m country I’m clean and I don’t plan to kill you in your sleep” I laughed and she did to as she said “come on.” I was sitting in this room when my cousin came in with two more guys. He looked at me. I waved and he winked at me real quick then paid attention and I smirked and shook my head. “Listen up I’m boomdog drum major. For the next few weeks I’m yo momma and yo daddy. Now macinely hall is co Ed so that seem like you can go buck wild but I don’t play that. Ladies keep your music boxes closed” Ty looked at me real quick I did the what face as he did the I’m watching you gesture. “Fella’s keep your instruments in your cases cause I don’t play that.” I gave ty a smug look as he gave one back to me “Man he’s preachin like my pops on Sunday mornin” Tasha looked at him and introduced us. “Dani, Leon sixes. Leon, Dani my roomie. So did we miss anything?” “In bullet no hookin up” Tasha looked up and said “But that’s my major” Leon nodded “I know” she hit him and I silently laugh at them.

Chapter four

Tasha, Leon and I walked in this party and I could already tell this isn’t my type of thing I looked at Tasha when she started speaking “First rule of the south: shake yo ass like you got a rent to pay” “And from what I see it’s a beautiful thing” We looked behind us and saw a white boy lookin down at me and tasha’s ass’s “Oh yeah I like a little junk in the trunk” I looked at him wide eyed while he winked and walked away Tasha looked back us and said “Oh no J.F.K didn’t” “Aye yall we got a celebrity A.N.T this year give it up my man jay” I looked up and saw him. Tasha looked at him “Damn dude is fine” I nodded Leon looked at him and spoke “my roommate Jayvon Laperrie his daddy is-““Jimmy Laperrie the singer” I asked shocked. Leon nodded and smiled “Music is in his blood so you know they’re going to put him on the line” Leon looked and him again and said “Do not pass go with his fine ass” Me and tasha looked at him shocked when he saw he said “Yeah we all don’t snap our fingers” “That’s what’s up” tasha smiled and I nodded. When I was getting a drink I bumped in to someone I looked and saw Jayvon. “So I’m so supposed to be taking roll of all the finest hunnies in here so you know I gotta check off your name” He said to me. I giggled and whispered my name “Dani” He bent down so he could hear me I bent up and said my name in his ear “My name is Dani” “What’s your section not that’s its not obvious” I looked at him “Is it?” “Oh yeah A.N.T always has the badest dancers of any bin” When he said that he looked me up and down. I blushed and looked down. All of a sudden the lights went off. Boomdog came and said “Ho. Welcome to hell week crabs” They put bags over our heads, gave us our instruments and brought us to the field. “Bags off crabs” I heard my cousin’s voice boom and I flinched. I had never heard him yell before. I took off my bag and saw Jayvon looking shocked at me. I smiled at him and waved then looked back at the line. They introduced themselves and had me and Jayvon go against each other when we finished my cousin said “Not bad for crabs” Jay looked at me and lean over “So what’s up Dani the drummer” I blushed really hard and looked down while he smirked.

Chapter five

While was getting my drum I was also listening to my music. I danced around the room while rolling my hips until someone pinched me in my back. “Oww” I turned around to find ty smirking at me. “Why ty why” “Cause you need to get on the field” I nodded got my stuff and ran to the field. I saw everyone there in white like me. I got in line before boomdog started to speak. “Now the reason you’re wearing white is because you have no identity. You have earn your blue and you do that with blood, sweat and hard work. Now whose band is this?” “Your band!” “Whose band?” “Your band big brother boomdog sir” “Alrigh” “Oh I beg to differ” We all looked up and the voice and I saw him… my dad. “This band belongs to no one yet it can never belong to anyone you have to belong to it.” Band music started to play. “You hear that. That is A.N.T 2002 back when being in the band meant something” After he delivered his speech we all got in lines and started the work out. When we went up and down the benches my cousin’s partner was all on me. “Come on Dani. You got this.” Jayvon spoke next to me trying inspire me. How sweet is that? It was late at night and we were all tired so by that logic we are playing terribly. My cousin made us stop. “Man yall are sleeping out here” My cousin’s partner stepped up. “Man jay wake yo crab brothers up.” Jayvon stepped and started playin the others started to march. My cousin’s partner looked at me. “Stop!” We all stopped. “Dani you’re off with your marching.” I looked at my cousin for conformation “Don’t look at him. You think just because he’s yo cousin you gon make the line.” I shook my head real fast and tried to say no but he cut me off. “Did I ask you to speak? No. You speak when I tell you to speak and play when I tell you play got that crab” He was about to go on but cousin came up and stopped him while lookin pissed at him. “Man step off. Now” He back up off me and my cousin dismissed us. Me, Tasha and Leon came in me and tasha’s room and crashed somewhere. Leon looked up and spoke. “Okay someone needs to remind assmondi that hazing is illegal” Tasha nodded “For real Dani he was on yo ass” I nodded. I picked up a thick envelope. “Damn girl that envelope is hella thick” I looked at it and smiled. “It’s a letter from my abuela. She wants me to get a cell phone” She looked at me “You need a plan” “No I need a job to be able to buy the phone” Leon spoke up with a phone in his hand. “Just do what I do. Run up other people phone bills” Tasha looked at him and did a double take. “Boy gimme my phone” “I’m takin a selfie” “Fore you lose a finga” I smiled at my goofy friends.”

Chapter six

I walking to the dean’s office when I bumped in to her. “Dean I heard you were lookin for a new office assistant” “Sorry these jobs go fast. How’s the band going” “Great easier than finding a job” “Maybe I can put in a word to my boss that is if you’re willing to work hard.” “I am” “Okay”

I walked in the coffee bar and found Tasha and Leon “Guys the dean is the best she put me on a trial run” Leon looked at me and said “Trail run means I better not see you sneaking free food to your friends.” “I got the table you guys get the check” They nodded and I walked to the table. I looked out the window and saw Jayvon with a dude sealing him weed. He looked at me and I smiled and waved. I was about to walk to my table when he stopped me. “So you’re the real deal out on the field. That’s what I’m lookin for. Maybe you should put in your application” I blushed and looked down. “Must be killin you that one girl isn’t fallin for your Jayvon Laperrie spell.” He smirked “Oh really I wonder what she tryin to prove” I smiled “Nothing but what about you” “You saw me play I don’t gotta prove nothing” “Really cause if you spit lines at me and probably every other girl in here I bet you can’t say one real thing… Just one” “Oh so what you think you know me?” “Boy I know about 20 you’s.” I walked away and I heard him say “Well okay then Miss Spencer”. The next day my dad was saying that tomorrow was the shake down to determine whether you play or not. P1 and P2’s are granted to march. I just hope I’m able to get P2 and I’ll be happy. After practice I walked in to the back practice room and practice my drumming then I kinda got distracted and started to do the dance that the dancing panthers do. I was so caught up in the music I didn’t notice anyone there until I turned and saw Jayvon there smirking and I scream. “So I was right you are a dancer huh?” I nodded “But you drum to?” I nodded again. He walked over to my drum and stared doing the beat for the dancers. I started to dance and followed the beat until he was done. He looked at me “Damn girl” I laughed at him. “What are you doing in here so late anyway?” He asked me with a raised brow. “I was practicing for tomorrow.” “Guilty that’s why I been in here every night” I looked shocked. “Why you looked so shocked. “Well for one I’m always here and I’ve never seen you” He laughed “And two you really good you should be nervous” “I’m not are you?” I nodded real fast and he laughed. “Why” “Cause I don’t know if they will let me on the line with my cousin as the section leader.” “Look you got here cause of your skill’s righ” I nodded. “So don’t worry you got this.” I nodded. I wanted to ask him this but I didn’t want to insult him. “Um Jayvon” He raised both of his brows as if the ask what “Your dad what songs does he sing because I really don’t know much or any of his music.” He looked shocked then laughed at what I said. “Don’t worry about it Dani he isn’t all that anyway.”

Chapter seven

We were out here out here in our white waiting to see what line we get put in. I saw Jayvon I leaned in and he leaned over “Good luck jay” he nodded “You to” I smiled at him. When it was finally his turn I clapped silently like I did with Tasha, Josh and Leon. He started drumming and he was really good. “P1 Congratulations Mr. Laperrie” He smiled and walked off the field. It was my turn and I did okay I think the man banged on his drum… once. My eyes widen as my cousin smirked at my face. “P1 Ms. Spencer” I smiled real big and nodded. I walked off to my room and I saw Leon, Jayvon and Tasha waiting for me. They all stood up when they saw me and spoke “WELL!” “I MADE P1!” I screamed. They ran up to hug me “I say we celebrate pizza on me” We all nodded at Leon. I was about to walk out the door when Jayvon pulled me back. “Aye yall go head we’ll catch up” They all nodded and walked out. I turned and gave him a huge hug before he could say anything. “Thank you so much jay your pep talk really worked” “You’re welcome” I let go of him and he put his arm around my neck while I held on to his waist. We walked in to the pizza place and found them ordering. Tasha and Leon raised their eye brows at us and I did the what gesture then they shook their heads. For the past few weeks me and Jay been practicing together. While I was waiting for him to get there I was dancing to I’m in to you by j-lo. I rolled my hips then suddenly hands were around my waist. I looked up and found Jayvon smirking at me. “Your hands are in the wrong place they go here” I placed his in the right place on my hips and I danced again. “Girl where are you from” “My mother and abuela are Cuban and Puerto Rican and my abuelo is Dominican” “No wonder you dance like that.” I laughed at him. We practiced and danced some more. The next day came “We have a match coming up so we need to work our hardest” My dad spoke. My cousin looked at me and my dad and smirked while I rolled my eyes. “Dani stay back a minute” I looked at my dad and nodded. Jay came up leaned down and whispered. “You want me to wait for you?” I nodded at him “Yes sir” “I know your Ty’s cousin but who are your parents it only lists your mother. “My dad doesn’t know anything about me he doesn’t even know I exsist” He nods and dismisses me. I see Jayvon texting someone with angry face. “What’s wrong Jay?” “My momma not responding to my texts.” “Maybe she’s busy or at work” I laugh “Man whatever what did he want?” “He wanted to about my dad.” He nodded at me. I walked back to my dorm with jay. I gave him a hug bye and went to bed. I woke up the next mornin and skipped home room to practice for tomorrow. Later on it was night time and I come out of the showers and ran into Jayvon. “Huh so you didn’t go to home room with everyone.” “I wanted to be ready for tomorrow” he nodded and said okay. I looked down and I noticed he wasn’t wearing a shirt I stared down at his abbs I quickly looked back up before he spoke. “Aye you alright I mean I know I’m sexy and all” “Boy please” “Please what” I looked and the bastard was smirking at me. “What you think I’m like what.” I step closer. “Scared, nervous in awe maybe.” “I’m scared of anything” “Prove it” so I did the only thing I could have thought of in that moment… I kissed him. I gave him my first kiss and it was amazing. “Good night Jayvon” I walked away happy as could be.

Chapter eight

Me and Tasha were in the practice room. “Dang I forgot my hat hold on” I went and got my hat and headed out to the bus with tasha. While I was getting ready my bra wouldn’t hook right. Jayvon walked in and went bug eyed. “Oh shit my bad dani” “It’s okay. Actually can you help me hook my bra please” I turned so he can hook it. He came and hooked it and moved my hair. “There ya go” “Thank you” “Your welcome” I about to take off my pants when I remembered my bruises that my mom gave me. “Um Jayvon can you turn around please” he nodded and turned around.

Jayvon’s P.O.V

I turned around so she can take off her pants. I turned around to see if she was done but she was goin slowly. Why? Because she has all these damn bruises on her. Who in the hell hit her like that? “Oww” “Aye you okay?” I ask and she turned and saw me looking at her. She look at me and said “You peaked” “Well yeah you was goin so slow but now I know why” she looked down. “Don’t tell anyone please Jayvon” “I won’t” “Really thank you jay” She left after she got dressed in front of me may I add and I got ready and went to line up.

Normal P.O.V

I was next to Leon and he spoke to me smiling “Here comes that football player that was checking me out” The football player comes and speaks “Yall tear it up out there I’ll be watchin” He walks away and Leon smiles as I bump my shoulder with his. I look up to see Jayvon smiling at me and smile back and mouth good luck and he mouths you to. Here we go. We were playing and doing well until the end because that’s when my cousin’s partner forgot his part. So I did his part for him and he look P.o

 

Chapter Nine

While I was walking to the bus Armondi came and yanked my arm really “Oww. What the hell man” “Yo are you on yo period or something” “You should be lucky I saved your ass from lookin stupid for forgetting your part.” My cousin came up and spoke “Armondi man she saved the whole band why you coming at her like that.” Armondi walked away and my cousin spoke “I saw him pull your arm you okay” I nodded. “Okay then good job cuz” While we getting of the bus Jayvon came up to me. “Hey so what was that out on that field?” “I was just trying to cover up his mistake.” “Setting it off on the field” “You really think I set it off” “Oh no doubt. On the field and in the hallway.” Yea

I was wiping down the counters when I heard “I heard you’re doing well good thing since I put my dishwashing rep on the line” I smiled at the dean. “How you doing” “Great I love being here and in the band. This is a dream come true” She smiled and said good. I was about to say something else when I saw Jayvon walk in and I got distracted. I guess she noticed because she laughed. “Aww young love” She walked away laughing. I blushed and looked down while clean off the counters. I looked up to see him talking on his phone. He left after he ate and paid. He said bye to me and winked at me. Later on after work I was ready for bed and talking to Tasha when Leon came in. “Aye I can use yall iron?” Me and Tasha went wide eyed. Being Tasha she said “Yeah but I’ma need you to put all that chocolate away if I can’t have any” Leon laughed “You know better” Tasha waved her hand at him. “Girl don’t worry about Armondi I heard he barely made the line himself. He’s insecure so he lashes out” “And that’s only because he thinks he can get to you. People used to do me like that. Skinny, black, gay preacher son with a big curly ass afro” Tasha looked up “Damn how many crosses did you have to bear” “Enough to put them down when I stepped on this line. So you just let him keep being stupid you just keep doing you” “Hey”

I looked up and saw Jayvon standing there. “A couple of us were going out and we well I was wondering if you wanted to come hang.” Tasha and Leon look at me waiting for my answer and Jayvon raised his eyebrows. “Well I don’t have to work to night” Just then josh comes in and say “Yo we partying or what” I got dressed in this and we left. I was dancing with Tasha until she left because josh was trying to get with her again. Jayvon came up and started to dance with me. I grabbed his hands and put the where they belong and danced with him again. “You know they’re lookin at us right?” he said in my ear and I nodded and soon we left to go home.

Chapter ten

“Hey don’t worry I’m pretty sure Armondi will get over it” Jay told me after I told him what happened “I’m not worried I’ll make him see” He smiled “So is this the new dani?” “I like that” He stopped and said “So lemme ask. Does this new dani have room for a guy whose kinda sexy” I blushed and looked at him and said “And real cocky” he winked “Maybe” I said he nodded and smirked “Come on” We all started to walk when I man came up to him. “Yo what’s up jay” “Hey izzy” “I didn’t know you were coming” “Yeah I just out with some friends from school” “Oh right you Mr. joe college now. Wait hold up this your girl” The man looked me and how I was hugged up with Jayvon. Jay looked at me, smirked and said “Yeah this me” I rolled my eyes at him and said hello to the man. “Hey I’m dani nice to meet you” “You too sweet heart. Jay you dad’s about to do a set” Jay looked nervous “Oh yeah” “Yeah you coming in” “Naw I’m pretty sure he has enough fans.” Tasha spoke this time “Come on jay don’t you think that your girlfriend should hear at least one of your dad’s songs?” Jay looked at me and shook his head no at tasha. I laughed while she pulled him along with us. Izzy went up on stage and introduced Jayvon’s dad. He came out drinking and stumbling. So I knew what was wrong he’s either drunk or high. Tasha however didn’t so she asked “Um is your dad okay” Jay answered “He’s good nothing new” He was about to step to the mic when all of he fell over yep he’s drunk off his ass. I leaned over and whispered “You know we can leave if you want right now before he say’s something else to show up in the papers” He looked at me and nodded. We were about to get up when we heard this. “Heard my son and his girl where here tonight” “Uh oh” I said as I held Jayvon’s hand. “Put the light up I, I wanna see em.” I held his hand tighter and rubbed his hand for comfort. “Jayvon baby clam down you don’t wanna do anything worth putting the papers okay?” He nodded and held me closer as the light hit us. “Yeah that’s my seed right there” I wrapped my arms around his waist, kissed his cheek and whispered “Clam down baby” He nodded and held me. All through the set his dad was stumbling and slurring his words. Jay grabbed my waist in a bruised place. Luckily I know how to keep a straight face. Jayvon must have known he hit a sore spot cause he lifted up my shirt and felt for the bruise. When he found it he gently rubbed my waist and leaned and kissed my head. His dad took a brake probably to go throw up. Jay went to go see izzy to cuss him out about the light. I went to go find his dad. I knock on his dressing room and open the door only to find him snorting coke to sober himself up. W.T.F.

Chapter Eleven

“You do know your son and his friends are here right sir” I asked him. I was honestly pissed off with him for embarrassing Jayvon like that. “Yes and you are?” He asked me “I’m his girlfriend” “Oh so what you hear to tell me that my son shouldn’t see his daddy like this. Please he should be used to this.” “So your son should just be fine with his alcoholic father being drunk off his ass, getting so high to where you can’t remember your own damn name. I knew there was a reason why he didn’t wanna come in but this is just sad.” “Look he will get over it. He always does.” He said. “Look just because he never talks about it or maybe he has and you were just to lit or buzzed to remember doesn’t mean he’s over it. I know he’s not and you do to. You should be ashamed of yourself for this I mean you have gotten so drunk you snort coke to get sober. Your own son didn’t even wanna come in to see you because he knew you were gonna do something stupid like this.” “Look I’m a grown man I do what I want when I want alright” “You right you are a grown man… that acts like he is a child. Your son is so ashamed of himself because thinks that your faults are his. He hides behind this mask of cockiness so people don’t know the real him. You forced your only child to grow up and take care himself at a young age so you didn’t have to. He was so embarrassed by you that I had to sit on his lap so he wouldn’t leave while yo drunk ass was up on the stage. He is your son your only child and at only 18 he had to see lose yourself like this. What did the lime light get to you is that it?” “Jayvon is 18 now he can worry about himself so I don’t have to” “You know what you dumbass I hope you get put in the papers doing this shit because he doesn’t deserve to have a druggie, alcoholic father who could care less about him.” I saw a glass of water and said “You what sobers you up faster than coke” He looked up “What” “Water” I threw the water in his face walked and said “Jackass” I went back to my seat and waited for Jayvon.

Jayvon’s P.O.V.

I can’t believe she stuck up for me to him. No one has ever done that for me. I went back to the seats and saw her and she pissed off. I smirked at the fact that she care’s so much about me. I walked up to them and said let’s go. I held on to dani. When we got back to school I pulled her aside. “So you know no one has ever thrown a drink a Jimmy Laperrie before” I told her and she said “He deserved it did he not?” I nodded and took her to my room to talk.

“Why don’t you tell me how you got those bruises?” I couldn’t help it I had to ask. “My mom used to hit me a lot and she always wasn’t sober when she hit me that’s how I knew your dad was buzzed off his ass.” I nodded as she stood up and looked around my room. She went over to my desk and opened the drawer. “You really need to stop selling this stuff.” I looked and saw her holding a bag of weed. I rolled my eyes at her. “Why you being nosy.” “I’m not just curious that’s all.” She put it back and walked over to my radio and turned on a slow song. As she was nodding her along to the music I went over and wrapped my arms around her and whispered “Dance with me.” She nodded turned around and wrapped her arms around my neck with my hands on her waist. “Jayvon” “Yes” “There is room for you my life” I smiled down at her and lean down and kissed her which lead to me and her on my bed and well…

Chapter Twelve

Normal P.O.V

I woke in his room after what happened last night. I shifted around a little then heard. “Hey” I looked up to see a smiling Jay. “Hey” I smiled back at him. Then said this “You’re not gonna get all clingy on me now are you” He smirks and says “Oh I plan to get real clingy. I’ve told you too much.” I giggled at him and my phone rang it was my grandma I so happy she called. “Abuela te extraño tanto (Grandma I miss you so much)” “Te echo de menos a mi pequeña flor (I miss you to my little flower)” I smiled and looked at Jayvon looking me I smiled and stuck my tongue out at him. He smirked and mouthed I’ll bite it off. I made a face at him and he made the same one back. “Entonces, ¿cómo está haciendo mi pequeña flor en la escuela ningún chicos lindos cogieron su ojo (So how is my little doing in school any cute boys caught your eye)” “tal vez (maybe)” “¿cómo se llama (What’s his name)” I look up to see him smirking at me from his desk “Jayvon” Jay looks up and says “Did you just say my name is Spanish?” I took the phone from my ear “Jay shut up she might hear you” He chuckled and went back to reading his tablet and said “Usted el que dijo mi nombre (You the one who said my name)” “Is he there right now?” My grandma asks. “No” He looks and say “YES!” My mouth drops open. I can’t he did that. I threw a pillow at him but it missed because he ducked. “Oh sweet heart you’re not my little innocent flower anymore” Jay laughs and falls out of his chair “Oh My God Grandma. Shut up Jayvon.” “Oh I remember when you to come in my room at night sucking your thumb because you were scared of the boogey man” Jayvon laughed harder. “GRANDMA!” “Oh shit man I can’t breathe” he said laughing his ass off. I threw the other pillow at his face and he chuckled. “So gran you’re still coming to the classic right?” “Oh yes I can’t wait to see you and meet all you friends and your boyfriend” I blushed and looked at jay only to see him like this. “Gran I gotta go I love you” “Love you to Miha” I looked at Jay after I hung up. “Jay baby what’s wrong” He looked at his tablet so I took it and looked at it and saw a picture of his dad buying drugs I was so pissed off that asshole “Ese imbécil estúpido qué diablos está mal con él. We were lined up when my dad was mentioning the classic again then he mentioned a change in positions. “Jayvon you have been upgraded to next in line for section leader” I looked jay and smiled while he was wide eyed. Armondi was not happy about this. “What about me.” “You Mr. Armondi have been downgraded to a P4 because of your hazing actions towards someone on the line. I was informed by someone last night” Everyone looked at me and Armondi looked pissed. I put my hands up and shook my head. “Why yall lookin at her I was talking about boomdog” We all turned to boomdog who was smirking at Armondi “You was messing with our chances of winning the classic and I don’t play that” He said while all of us was laughing. “Alright everyone dismissed.” I was looking for Jayvon I felt hands go around my waist I looked up and found him smirking at me. “Congratulations Papi I’m proud of you” I said wrapping my arms around his neck. He smirked and said “Thank you mami” He said and kissed me. Later on I was walking with leon around the activity fair when I saw Jayvon talking to some of his friends he winked at me and I blushed and looked down. “Okay what is up with you two you over here blushing and crap what did he do” leon asked. I whispered we had sex in his ear. He went wide eyed and shouted “YOU AND JAYVON”- I covered his mouth before the whole campus heard “Shut up” I let him go and he said “I’m telling yo cousin” “No” I shouted running after him. He found ty and said “Ty Dani and Jayvon”- I jumped on his back then cover his mouth. He bit me and dropped me on the ground “Dani and Jayvon”- “Leon shut up” Jay yelled at leon. Ty looked at us three and said “What did yall do? Somebody tell me.” Me and Jayvon looked down. Leon quickly said “They had sex last night” Me and jay hit him and said “Shut up” Ty looked at Jay and said “I’ma kill you” Jay ran and ty ran after him. My mouth dropped open while Leon was just laughing away. I looked at him and said “Your dead” he ran and I ran after him he ran all the way back to my room where tasha was watching TV. “What the hell is going on leon why you hiding behind me” “I told her cousin something now she trying to kill me.” “Well what did you say?” “I told him that she and Jayvon had sex.” Tasha looked at me wide eyed and “What when?” “Last night” I said she was about to say something else when Jayvon ran inside closed the door and locked it. “Jayvon baby you okay?” He looked up and shook his head breathing hard. Chapter fourteen

I woke with Jayvon’s arms around my waist when I hear a knock at the door. I open it and was my cousin ty’s sister. She smiled when saw me and I screamed because along with she brought grandma. When I screamed Jayvon jumped up. “What? What happened” My cousin Mia looked at him and raised a brow at me. “How has Ty not killed him yet?” She asked me. I responded “He tried to.” I hugged her and my grandma while Jayvon was smiling at me. “Jay this is my cousin Mia and my grandma Sofia” I introduced him to my family. He shook Mia’s hand and tried to do the same with my gran but she hugged him super tight instead. “Grandma you’re killing him. Let the boy breathe” my cousin stated. When my grandma let go Jayvon sucked in a huge breath. “You’re a strong little lady” he stated. He looked at me and said “Babe I’m gonna go get ready okay I’ll see you there and say hey to your dad okay” I nodded. Over the past few weeks since my cousin learned about us I told my dad about me and he couldn’t be happier. I was walking on cloud nine and nothing could bring me down. When I said mom Jay was beside me in a second. He looked at Joe with a glare because of the way he looking at me. Joe noticed Jay’s arm around my waist and his glare on him so he back up a little. “So you came to college got on the line even got a little boyfriend and everything. That’s so cute how you tried but know it’s time come home with me where you belong.” To say jay was pissed was an understatement he was fuming. “Man I’ll be damned if I let her walk out the door with yo abusive crazy ass.” He shouted at her. Tasha, Josh and Leon walked in and saw everyone standing there. Tasha took look at my mom and went off. “You got some damn nerve coming in here after all the shit you did to her” “Now you got this dope dealing ass hole in here man what the hell” Leon was just as pissed with them as Tasha and Jay were. “Look she’s my daughter and she is coming home with me.” “Unless I have a say.” We turned and saw my dad. “Monti what are you doing here?” my mom asked. “She is my daughter I have a right to be here unlike you. Now I gonna ask you nicely to leave the campus in peace or I’m gonna have security escort you out.” My mom looked at me “So you found your daddy and made some new friends as well how nice but it don’t mean a damn thing you’re coming home right now Danielle” I was so pissed at her how dare she come here and tell me to go with her. “You know what no I’m not leaving with you ever. I was just fine here without you but you just had to come and ruin it just you ruined everything else in my life. So no more I’m done with you Tisha. I have no mother.” Then she did something that I thought I had gotten away from… she slapped me. Jay caught me in his arm but before he could say anything I was on my so called mother beating the shit outta her with Tasha’s help. Josh and Jay pulled us off her and held us back from attacking her stupid ass once again.

Joe was about to step to us when josh put me and Tasha behind his back and Jayvon and Leon stood in front us with their arms crossed glaring at him. He backed up help me momma stand up. She stood in front of Jay with a glare so I got in front of him and glared at her and said “Backup” Jay was holding on to my hips in case I jumped on her again. “You think just because you got this little group behind you, you something special well you’re not. You’re still the same silly stupid girl you were 7 months ago.” She told me. “And what are you supposed to be doing holding her like that little boy?” Jay looked up and said “I swore to my momma I wouldn’t ever hit no woman but lady you pushin it” “Tisha you the one that’s stupid. I have more than you will ever have. I have friends that I consider family and great boyfriend and they care about me to. You are nothing but an abusive druggie and alcoholic so no I’m staying”

She nodded and looked at all of us in the room and nodded at Joe. He came up on me and tried to grab me but jay grabbed me pulled back and him, josh, leon, and my dad beat the crap outta him. “Man get the fuck outta here with her to” Jay yelled at him. “She nothing but a little bitch anyway.” Joe said. I guess Joe wanted to get his ass beat because the moment he said that Ty came in turned him around and jacked him up. He threatened him by telling him to leave and never come back. Joe ran out and my momma stood there while my grandma came forward and slapped her. “Have you lost your mind Tisha putting your hands on this child and bringing that dope dealer here huh?” My momma left with Joe and didn’t come back after grandma slapped some sense into her. Jay turned to me and kissed my head. He left with leon, josh and ty so me and tasha could get ready. In two hours we going to face southern state in the classic wish us luck.

Chapter Fifteen

While I was waiting for Jayvon I was standing next to Armondi who had moved his way up to P2. We were practicing when ty told him he was playing wrong again. Ty was showing him how to do it or at least trying to but Armondi took my cousin hand and said he had it. “It doesn’t seem like it” I mumbled under my breath. He turned to me and said “What i’m sorry I didn’t hear that. Man you don’t deserve P1 you ass should behind me where it belongs.” “Aye yo man ease up” I looked up and saw jay standing there glaring at Armondi. I ran up to and kissed him. “Man you still hittin that? You must be smoking like yo pops.” Jay was about to go up and hit him but I turned around and slapped the shit outta Armondi. He was about to come at me when jay pushed me behind him. “Hit her. I dare you to do some stupid shit like that.” He glaring at him but I pulled him back. “Don’t do it Papi he isn’t worth it” I whispered in jay’s ear. He nodded. We lined up Jay was next to my cousin and I was next to him holding his hand. Armondi was behind me with an angry face. When it was our turn we tore it up. We were waiting for the results. I was holding Jays hand while he was rubbing his thumb over mine. “For the first time in six years give it up for Atlanta A.N.T” We were cheering until one of the dancers called me out. I looked up confused and shook my head no. “Dani, Dani, Dani!” They were chanting my name so I said fine. I took of my over clothes and was wearing this. She was good but I was better. When I won my group came over and nearly knock me down. “Congratulations Ms. Future Laperrie” Jay whispered in my ear. I turned and kissed him. Everybody crowed around us chanting A.N.T over and over again. To say it was the happiest to of my life would be an understatement. I got my friends, Boyfriend, my dad and my position on the line. I got my happy ending.
