CHAPTER 1

Amblen Falls sure was pretty this time of year, when summer was over and fall was just beginning. This was the month of Voct here on Arca, a planet in a system very far from Earth.

Arca was a lot like Earth in fact. It has its seasons just as Earth did. Winter, spring, summer, and fall. The days however were 30 hours long not 24.

That meant 17 hours of daylight and 13 hours of darkness for at night. The months were shorter than Earth's. They were 28 not 31. Some went only to 24.

All in all Arca was a very nice planet. Not as big as the earth. Gravity was about the same, but a little less so people didn't get as tired. Good thing with the days being 30 hours long instead of 24.

Amblen Fall's orphanage's school just let out its occupants for the day. Children ran and played.

One such child whose imagination was strong, make believed she was a princess stolen away from her father who had lived in a far away land.

Angeleeka had imagined many a day, her king of a father come to rescue her from this prison she was being held in. The orphanage was in no way a prison and was very good to their children but you know had children can be. Especially ones like Angeleeka Jensen.

Her real father had worked on the wrong side of some empire. An empire that a tyrant by the name of Zartharyos reigned. Arca was safely tucked away within the Alliance Of Planets which went against everything this dark empire stood for and its evil Ruler.

It was said that the ruler had to live inside some kind of a cyborg type suit to keep him alive. He had been hurt very badly in some explosion many years ago. Angeleeka's father had worked for this man. He had been killed and deemed a traitor to the empire.

Angeleeka was picked on a lot by the other kids at the orphanage on the account that her father was deemed a yellow belly coward that tried to skip out.

Some of these orphaned kids' parents had worked for the empire in fact and had been killed in the line of duty. The Alliance Of Planets was at war with this empire and the orphaned children were taken and placed here hoping they'd get a good education and memories of what their parents had once been and the idea of them someday working also for this cruel empire, abandoned.

All they could do was hope that these children would chose a better life after being old enough to be on their own.

At least Academy Orphanage gave them that chance. They felt it their duty to re-educate these poor unfortunate children.

They had made Angeleeka cry again. Talking badly about her father. One such boy just would not let up, so she crying, ran away, far into the woods. She tripped over a rock and fell into some ditch. A cobra stood up hissing its warning at her. Angeleeka knew she was a dead duck!

The Arch Angel Raphael, guardian to many children, then smacked the snake across the head with an unseen hand. "You stop that!" he retorted and opened up the way of communication now between the child and the snake. Also opening up Angeleeka's eyes to see the beautiful creature that this female cobra actually was.

"What do you want! Why are you here? Who are you - who are you?" the snake bombarded Angeleek with many questions. She just looked at it. "I' - I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I tripped and fell in here," Angeleeka now told it and the snake understood.

"How is this possible, human, that I can understand you?" she asked.

"I don't know???" Angeleeka replied, just as odd feeling. Raphael was smiling ear to ear.

"You showing off again?" he was then startled by the booming voice of his superior, Gabriel, who had now appeared.

"No! The snake would of bit her," Raphael said coming to the defense of the child. Gabriel looked at the child now. He looked at the snake too. "What have you done?" he now barked suspiciously. Gabriel knew what Raphael had done could not be undone. It was permanent.

"I wanted these two to be friends," he said.

"Human, can you help me? My sister is caught in a thicket of thorns and is in great pain," the cobra now asked the child. Gabriel and Raphael both watched to see what would happen next.

So Angeleeka went to where the cobra's sister was.

"Stay away! I will bite you and fill your veins up with poison!" Suzy, the other female cobra just hissed and hissed.

"No! She is a friend. She is willing to help you," Cory now spoke to her sister.

"Have you gone mad Cory? Humans are not friends!" Suzy spat.

"She is no ordinary human, Suzy," Cory tried to reason. All the while Angeleeka could understand every word the two snakes were saying to each other.

"Please, I mean you no harm. Let me help," Angeleeka now spoke. Suzy just looked at her. "How can this be? No human has ever been able to speak to us!" Suzy now said.

"I do not understand it myself, but she can," said Cory.

Cory was a dark blue colored Cobra and Suzy was a dark purple.

"You are so beautiful," Angeleeka told Suzy as she began to undo thorns that encamped the snake.

"Stay away!" Suzy hissed and struck out at the human. Angeleeka pulled her hand away just in time or she would of been bit.

Gabriel now interceded and kicked dirt at the snake, and his invisible hand to the child, pulled her away from the snake. It was as if to Angeleeka, that she had lost her balance and fell backward but Angeleeka did feel someone grab hold of her, she could swear by it even but no one was there!

"Suzy!" scolded Cory now, ashamed that her sister would try to harm the girl.

"Did she strike you?" Cory asked the human.

Suzy's fang did indeed puncture slightly the skin of the young girl's back side of her hand. She began to feel nauseated.

"The snake has struck the girl and drawn blood!" Gabriel barked at Raphael then. Raphael knew that in their present state they could not help the child, only escort her if she actually died.

But then came the voice of the Arch Angel Michael whom the Father had just prepared for service to the humans, told the two other Angels not to fear, he was sent to help.

Michael was in a human type form now. Raphael recognized him, for Raph too was in a sort of human state. He still had Angelic powers but not as much as Gabriel had. But Gabriel did not recognize Michael in this state.

"Child, are you alright? Did the snakes strike you?" Michael asked her. Angeleeka noticed a man dressed in a yellow jacket. He had white jeans on and a white cowboy type hat.

"She got scared as I was trying to help her," Angeleeka told the man. "I don't feel so good," she said.

"You struck her!" Cory hissed at her sister. "She was only trying to help you!" Cory scolded more.

"I - I am sorry," Suzy now confessed.

Michael went and picked up the child. The snakes were not afraid of him, Angeleeka noticed. The snakes knew who he was. That he was a winged being that was not a human and meant them no harm. He was one of the caretakers of the Universe. That's what they called him anyway.

Michael picked up the child. He telepathically told the other two Angels near by, that if he got her to the hospital in time, she would make it. But he had to hurry.

"Hold on child, my truck is near by," Michael told her.

"What is your name?" he asked trying to keep her talking. He feared she was starting to go into shock.

"I, I'm Angeleeka, but you can call me Angel," she spoke. She felt so funny now. Michael feared she would soon be unconscious.

"Well, Angel, I am Barry Michaels, but you can just call me Michael," he told her. He wrapped her in a blanket he had in the back of his truck and he laid her onto the blue colored seat in back of the two front seats. "I'll have you at Academy Hospital in no time sweetheart," he said. He then pulled out from the side of the road and headed for the hospital.

CHAPTER 2

"I need help here!" Michael barked after rushing into the emergency part of Academy Hospital carrying the now unconscious girl. A doctor, Duncan Fraser, met up with him and rushed over a stretcher.

"I need an intubation tray!" Michael ordered. The other doctor rushed it over soon. Michael had begun giving Angeleeka mouth to mouth resuscitation.

"Are you a licensed Doctor?" the other doctor asked. Michael didn't answer but instead took the instrument and with precision got the airway tube soon down the teen's throat. The doctor knew he was now because no one who wasn't would not be skilled to do so.

"What has happened?" Fraser asked.

"She was bit by a cobra," Michael told him.

"Bit by a cobra!" he honked as Michael now brought over a ventilator machine. "I need anti- cobra venom now!" he ordered.

Fraser was already on it. A nurse was barked to get the syringe filled. Moiya Moegly was her name. She couldn't help but stare at Michael. He had such striking features. She bumped into another nurse, Amistis Star and the syringe went crashing to the hard floor shattering.

"You didn't use the plastic syringes!" roared Fraser at her. He went barking orders and the other nurse, Amistis, got a new syringe filled from his booming orders. She handed it to Michael now.

Moiya was about to tears but Amistis couldn't help that now. Right now they were trying to save this teen girl's life. Amistis had seen her around. She was a new candy stripper for about a week.

Soon with the anti-venom, the girl began to improve. Michael let out a breath of relief. "That was too close," he said.

Now that the girl was stabilizing he could properly introduce himself. "I'm the new doctor who is to start work here. I'm Barry Michaels," he introduced finally to the other doctor extending out his hand. Fraser smiled. "Well, I'm happy to meet you Doctor Michaels. I am Doctor Duncan Fraser. This is one of my best nurses, AAyaelees Amistis Star," the other doctor introduced.

"Wow! That's some name you got there," Michael said. Moiya noticed Fraser sure hadn't introduced her. The other nurse shook Michael's hand.

"Hi, I'm Moiya Moegly," Moiya now spoke extending out her own hand too. She was bound and determined not to get left out. Stupid Fraser! It was obvious they did not get along. But that was rude even for him to not introduce her as well. She had been standing right there!

"Well, I'm glad to meet you," Michael said.

'You are loved, and accepted,' Moiya thought she heard real soft, like a voice in her head. Michael made her feel very welcomed.

Raphael felt just awful. He stood by the bed of the very sick young girl that almost died because he was showing off.

He now felt a firm hand upon his shoulder. "She is stabilized," Michael told him.

"Yeah, well, no thanks to me!" he retorted. Raphael was sure happy to see him again but wished it was under better circumstances.

Raphael went before the Father. "Isn't there something I can do?" he asked.

"The gift you gave her was genuine. And it will pay off in the end, but yes, I could assign you to her like Michael. Even Gabriel, if he is needed," the Father replied.

"Oh yes! I would love to. So I can help further," Raphael said.

"But just as I told Gabriel and Michael, if in a temporary form, it can fall asleep. If this happens you will have to come home and the humans will no longer be able to interact with you," the Father explained.

"I understand. Sign me up!"

CHAPTER 3

Cory and Suzy now too wondered what had happened to that child. "I am sorry I bit her. I got scared is all," Suzy said.

"You are free from those poking bushes. She was only trying to help," Cory explained.

"Maybe we ought to go find to see if she is alright," Suzy suggested. Cory agreed. It was a good idea.

The snakes were able to pick up the girl's scent and found her to be inside a big building. "This is where humans go to be fixed," said Cory.

"Hummm," spoke Suzy looking up at the high skyscraper of a building. "Too many people. I could get scared and strike again," she said.

"You are such a sissy Suzy!" Cory told her flat out. "Okay, fine. I'll go inside. Humans don't scare me," Cory said. So she went a slithering in through the doors that slid open and closed.

"A snake!" cried out an orderly and felt all weak in the legs. They felt suddenly like rubber bands so down he went onto the floor. Cory about laughed it was kind of funny. She could understand their words now. She came to find she also could READ their words.

"I wonder what floor Angeleeka is on?" she said.

"Excuse me, but what floor is an Angeleeka on?" Cory asked the attending station. The woman could not see anyone standing there after she glanced up from reading her book. "Excuse me?" she honked.

"What floor is Angeleeka on?" Cory asked again.

The woman wondered where was this voice coming from. She looked on her computer. "Angel what?" she asked.

"Angeleeka," said Cory. So the woman typed in....ANGELEEKA. Just as it sounded. "Oh, she is on floor 5," the woman said. She then got up out of her chair to look to see maybe if it was a very short woman talking to her but all she saw was this snake going toward the elevators.

"Yikes!" she outburst. She then dialed for Maintenance.

Cory slithered into the room Angeleeka was in. Raphael who was now in a more human type form again, saw her. The child was still unconscious and on a vent. He was assigned to work in Emergency along with Michael, and had come up to see how Angeleeka was doing.

"You shouldn't be in here," he told the snake.

Cory saw through his disguise. She knew he was one of those winged beings from the Almighty.

"You here to watch over her?" Cory asked.

"Yes I am small fry," said the Angel.

"How is she? Did Suzy's venom hurt her?" Cory asked. The Angel felt soft hear-ted. This creature of God was actually a very gentle snake. He bent down to her. "She is still very ill I'm afraid," Raphael told her.

"Could she die?" Cory asked.

"Well, I think she'll pull through," the Angel told her. He then put the snake into his pocket to take her back outside.

"The human folk will not understand you being here, love," he said.

Once outside Suzy met up with them. "I'm sorry I bit her. I got nervous. I always am around humans," Suzy confessed.

"Oh, your always nervous around anything really," Cory scolded.

"Am not!" Suzy spat.

"Are too!" spat back Cory.

"Hey! Stop that!" Raphael told them both.

"Ok, scoot! Off you two go and no more sneaking inside here," Raph made clear.

Angeleeka was much better by that next day. She was off the vent and stable. When she awoke and her eyes focused she lost her heart to Michael who was reading her chart. He was the best looking thing she had ever seen!

He wasn't real tall but he had gorgeous, shoulder length, very light blond hair, almost could call it white. He had the kind of eyes you could not tare yours off of.

Michael noticed the stare. "Well hi! Glad to see your finally awake," he retorted and came over to the bed. He had the most striking smile she ever saw.

He wore a white cowboy hat, it was tall. He wore a dark yellow jacket and he had on a white shirt and light blue jeans.

"I thought I imagined you. You did come and rescue me from those cobra snakes didn't you?" she finally said.

"Yes, you were bitten by one of them, but luckily the bite didn't penetrate too deeply, and get into your blood stream quickly or I'd of lost you before I could of gotten you to the hospital," he said.

He then pulled up a chair and sat in it backwards resting his arms now on the back of the chair. "Why were you messing around with a bunch of cobras in the first place my angel? Don't you know how DANGEROUS they are?" he barked.

Angeleeka wanted to tell him that one actually talked to her and wasn't the problem, it was her scardy-cat of a sister who had actually bitten her.

"They hadn't meant me harm. I was trying to get the other one freed from a thicket of thorns but I guess she just was too scared of me," Angeleeka told him.

"Well, how do you know that?" Michael asked her. He knew the truth but was curious of what this child was going to say next.

"I just know things, sometimes," she said and trailed off.

"Angeleeka, are you one of them Dr. Doodles that can talk to animals?" Michael now teased. Angeleeka laughed. He was so funny.

Then Raphael came inside. "Well, now that's much better!" he out spoke and then took her chart and began to read it. "Won't be long till your outta here," he said. She frowned. The food was so much better here than at that dumpy orphanage.

"I'm still at Death's door. Better keep me here another week, at least," she said and gave a cough. Michael looked at Raphael. "Who you trying to fool," he said.

"Well, we'll see cutie-pie," Raph said and squeezed her toe. He gestured for Michael to come out into the hall with him. He had found some abnormalities in her blood work.

"The girl has showed positive for AMS Disease," he told Michael. He was sorry to hear that.

Raphael then showed him the new papers confirming. "I know someone who also suffers from this same disease. Amistis Star I believe is her name. She is a nurse here," he told him.

"I'll have a conversation with her and tell her so that she can come and talk to the child about it. Poor kid, what she has in store, but if she will only put God first, He'll see her through," Raph said.

CHAPTER 4

Raphael went to the nurses' station where Amistis Star was busy writing orders in a chart that Doctor Duncan Fraser had just given her.

"Hey beautiful," she heard. She looked up to see the nice looking Doc Floyd peeping down at her.

"You free for lunch?" he asked.

"Sure. Where to?" she asked.

"The good old cafeteria sound alright?" he asked. She smirked. "The food is actually better here than most restaurants," she admitted.

Pedro Raphael Floyd was a very nice looking man, with light, strawberry blond hair and a goatee type mustache and beard. But she saw right off he had shaved.

He looked even more handsome without it but she decided not to tell him so as she did not know him all that well yet to make such a statement, but man, he sure couldn't do bad to stand to be without it that's for sure. He had such striking aqua-blue eyes.

When they sat for lunch they began talking about Angeleeka.

"She has AMS?" Amistis replied surprised.

"Yes, I just got the report back," Raph said handing her the file. She read it. She was sorry to see that her father, just like hers, had been of the same Dark Empire.

She then began to tell Floyd about Zartharyos and about how he had caused her AMS by the terrible mind altering drugs they had given to her when she was around Angel's age.

"Angel too was a child born on the main Dark Empire space station. She was delivered by her own father. I fear they had done tests on her too. She is very intelligent," Floyd said.

Amistis never thought she'd see the day when someone else had what she had. "I wouldn't wish this illness on anyone, especially another innocent child," she said. Raph took her hands. For a moment he was transformed and she saw white wings!

"You could be such a good help to her. Listen AAyael, where are you staying at?" he asked her. She snapped out of whatever daydream that had been. "I - I'm staying at the house, Ruty's I mean, near Amblen Falls," she replied.

"Do you have room to take in Angeleeka? Could you become her guardian? She lives at the orphanage, but now that she is ill.." Raph said. It would be nice.

Amistis remembered when she had taken in Heity and Neely, fostering them. But one of the girls had died and so the other was taken away from her.

"Yeah, I'd love to but I am ill and," she began.

"Oh, forgive me honey... I will become her guardian then, and we both will live there, with you, if that's alright," Raphael now said getting the okay from the Father.

Amistis cheered right up. "Yeah! Great!" she barked.

"I know of two other boarders who will need a place to stay and we will pay full rent," Raphael now said.

"Oh yeah? Who?" Amistis asked.

"Barry Michaels and Noel Gabriel. Michael, you have just met. He is a new doctor here, but Gabriel, you have yet to meet, but they are very honest and trustworthy. Very Godly men," Raphael said.

So it was all set. Raphael, Michael, and Gabriel would move in this weekend, along with Angeleeka.

When Raphael told her she cried. She couldn't believe she was not going back to that orphanage! She just hugged and hugged Raphael's neck.

"Oh, it's alright sweetie pie," he said.

"You truly are an Angel," she remarked.

'More than you know,' he thought.

Gabriel had meet Michael in his temporary human form, but only for a few minutes, and was too busy to really look upon him while tending to keeping the snakes tame, while Michael had gotten Angeleeka quickly away and rushed to the hospital that time, for this current assignment.

Michael was much smaller than Gabriel had expected him to be. Michael was dressed in very casual attire a teenager would wear, and a white cap on his head in the backward position. He was punching a white glove. He tossed a ball up and down, back and forth, when Gabriel finally arrived to the house.

He had just come from the Angelic Realm. Gabriel was bigger boned by far.

"Hey, big guy," Michael said. Gabriel tried not to frown but it happened anyway. Michael felt intimidated by him. They came to find in their present forms, they somewhat argued and didn't get along as well as Michael would of liked.

The summer was turning out to be wonderful for Angeleeka. The two snakes found out where she was living.

One day she was out feeding them some food and water when Amistis Star came outside. She had a box and inside it was a nice sized swimming pool that just folded up inside the box.

''OH!" she outburst seeing the snakes. Both hissed at her as she was about to throw the big box on them.

"No! AAyael, they are friendly!" Angeleeka yelled.

"Cory, Suzy, she is a friend! I told you, about all who live here with me. Her, and 3 guys," Angeleeka said and said.

Gabriel opened AAyael's ears so that she could hear.

"She means us no harm? She is about to crush us!" Suzy hissed. AAyael was sure it sounded like words. It was bad having two cobra snakes in her back yard!

Suzy went over to her just a hissing her warnings. Gabriel stepped in just as Suzy struck because she got so scared. She bit him in the leg.

"Oh no! Back off you two!" Michael said now coming to our rescue. He had just come home from work.

He used a chair then to keep him some safe distance from the snakes. "Go away! Shoo!" he roared.

Gabriel fell backward.

"He's been struck!" Amistis cried. Gabriel was vulnerable now too like Raphael and Michael for this assignment.

Cory and Suzy hissed and went away. Michael now rushed up to his comrade. Gabriel was still a bit weakened from having some of his inoculations. He had just gotten out of the hospital in the Angelic realm. They all 3 had had to be inoculated. Gabriel would have the last of them in about 3 months. It was unwise to have all of them so close together. It could make the angel too sick.

Michael had been first and had had such a severe reaction he had to spend the night in Intensive Care, his angelic body going through all those changes and the effects of the shots, but he would do worse if he caught the illnesses that he was inoculated against. It had to be done. Hbis last shots had just been given and him recovered before his new assignment here. Gabe was not done quite yet. In 3 or so months he would report back for the rest.

Raphael had had the least severity. Gabriel was ill too from the first set of shots and hadn't gotten all his strength back. He was in for an even rougher ride when given the rest but he was good to go, for now. That is until he got bit by the snake.

Raphael came outside now. "What happened?" he asked rushing over to Gabriel. Michael was on the phone calling an ambulance. "Those cobras were here and they struck him," he said.

"They wouldn't strike. Only if provoked," Raph argued.

"Well, they struck him!" Michael horned, then someone came on the phone.

"Yes, I need an ambulance," he told them and gave the address. Amistis took Gabriel's pulse and it was fast. Michael had begun to get some of the poison sucked out of his leg. It tasted horrible!

"What did you do to provoke the snakes, Angel?" Raphael asked. He got Gabriel on an IV. They were Jeni type Beings. That's what the people here were called who had genie type powers and could zap stuff up. No way did anyone realize who they really were.

"He's going into shock," Raph said.

"They got scared when Amistis came outside with a big box," Angeleeka said, about to tears.

Raph looked over at the box on the lawn. It held a swimming pool inside. "I told you to keep those snakes away from the house!" Raph blew.

Gabriel was unconscious now. "He's not doing good Michael," Raphael said.

"Oh man, big guy, hang on," Michael coaxed.

Soon they had him loaded up in the ambulance. Michael rode in the back and Raph drove in his car with Amistis and Angeleeka. She was to tears.

"Look honey, I'm not blaming you, but Cory and Suzy just cannot come up to the house that close from now on. They get just too spooked," Raph said.

When they parked and went into the emergency room, the staff noticed Michael. Soon they had Gabriel in a room. They already had to insert a breathing tube down his throat. A nurse, Moiya, was squeezing an ambu bag connected to the tube down Gabriel's throat as Michael was barking orders to get the poison counteracted.

They were able to reverse the effects but Gabriel was unconscious all night and remained on the vent until morning. Angeleka never felt so bad in all her life.

That was it! The last she'd ever speak to Cory and Suzy again! Suzy had nearly killed her and now Gabriel too. That was the last straw.

CHAPTER 5

Gabriel was sitting up in bed when Amistis came into the room.

"Hi," he spoke. He noticed she looked pale. "You feeling alright?" He knew she had a terrible disease.

"I'm going home. I just wanted to check on how your doing before I go," she said.

"I'm fine. You have someone to give you a ride?" he asked.

"Yes, Michael said he'd take me home, then come back," she said.

"Hey, how you feeling?" Michael asked Amistis after she got into his truck. Her chest was hurting. He could tell it was hard to breathe. He felt her forehead. "Okay kiddo, we're going back into the hospital, into ER. I need to check you," he said.

"Michael, I just need to go home and to bed," she protested.

"Nothing doing. You may need to be hospitalized," he said. That was the last thing Amistis wanted.

Michael didn't like the looks of things so he had her admitted. He was so cute! She had the awfullest crush on him. He seemed so, so angelic.

Michael called to the house after giving Amistis some medication. She was sleeping. Raphael answered.

"Oh Raph, yeah it's me, Michael," he said.

"You still at the hospital? Is Amistis with you?" he asked.

"She's bad. I had to admit her. She is having a flare up of her AMS. I just wanted to tell you I will not be coming home tonight. I'm going to stay here and keep an eye on her. In case she goes south. This crap is so unpredictable," Michael said. He looked over at Amistis. He had her on nasal oxygen.

"Yeah, alright, I'll come up later tonight to check in on her," Raph replied.

"How's Angeleeka doing?" Michael then asked.

"Oh, she'll be fine. She's stayed here alone before alright," Raph said.

"Yeah well, with Gabriel still in the hospital I do not think it wise to leave her there alone," Michael said.

"Well, alright. Should I bring her too with me? I guess I could try to find a baby sitter. I know, I'll call Grant Castiel, Amistis' husband. Does he know she's been admitted? He's not supposed to be on call tonight at the hospital, he could watch the kid," Raphael said remembering that Amistis had recently married, but did she know who Grant Castiel really was? That he too was an Angel of the Lord. He bet she did not. Then Raph figured Grant might not be available because of an assignment he might be on.

Castiel and Amistis had met on Vegros at the big Sea Side Hotel. They hit it off and he married her to keep her safe from Zartharyos and because he was a M.D Doctor like them.

He would, being married to her, stay with her, especially while she slept, in case she had an episode with the AMS. He would be right there to revive her if needed.

It was more a marriage of convenience but Raph knew the two were attached, Grant being in the same vulnerable state as he, Michael, and Gabriel were.

He had fallen in love with her. Hey, it could happen, him having that temporary shell so to speak.

He was another Angelic comrade on assignment here, so recently he and Amistis had relocated to Amblen Falls where she grew up actually.

Raphael felt bad. Grant would want to be with his wife tonight, not watching some kid!

But Raph called him anyway. He needed to be told. Grant understood the situation all too well with Amistis. He was more than happy to help with Angeleeka. If it came to that. He told Raphael he was on a smaller assignment but he could get away for the night to help out.

"Yeah. But only if Amistis gets real bad," Michael said. He then hung up.

It got too hard for Amistis to breathe in the night. The inflammation to her lungs was bad. Michael had to induce paralysis and intubate her. He had her transferred to ICU. He squeezed on the ambu bag as they wheeled her to an Intensive Care Unit. He then hooked up a vent.

He called Raphael. "I'll be right there," he said. He called Grant next and told him he needed a favor. Grant came right over.

"Honey, this is Castiel, a real good friend of mine, actually he is Amistis' husband," Raphael said.

"Hi Angeleeeka," Grant said trailing it off too long. She laughed. "It's just Angeleeka," she said and giggled more.

Cory and Suzy were peeping in through a window. They hoped everything was alright. They noticed another winged being was there.

Suzy knew she was in trouble and had struck that kind Being in the leg, that had caused the one called Amistis, to be able to understand them like Angeleeka could.

Grant just looked at the two snakes now.

"We are friends of Angeleeka," Cory told him. He squinted and squinted. Had he heard right?

Angeleeka then told him the whole story and let the snakes in the house.

"I don't know, Angel, if you should do that or not," he protested. The snakes seemed harmless.

"Listen, can we de-fang them, so if they get scared and strike, no venom comes out?" she asked the Angel.

Cory and Suzy just looked at one another. "If that is possible, please do so," Cory said.

"I really do not know," Grant replied. "I do not think their means of protection should be taken away," Grant said further.

But they had a nice evening. Angeleeka taught the snakes how to play a game called Monopoly...

Raphael took Amistis' hand. He hated seeing her on the vent. She was burning up with a fever. It was a close call all night but Michael knew herbs to give to her to help the inflammation.

Michael got Amistis through the worst of it. Raph called the house to inform Grant that he believed Amistis was over the worst.

Gabriel came into her hospital room. "How's she doing? Raphael told me she was in here," he said. Amistis was still on the vent.

"She's doing better," Michael said. Gabriel then looked Michael over. "You look tired. How about taking a break and coming to get some breakfast with me," he said.

"I'd like to wait till I get her off the vent first," Michael said. Gabriel knew how stubborn he could be.

"Michael, you need to take a break," he said.

"Later," Michael spoke. So Gabriel gave up and went back to his room. He got released later that morning.

When he came back to check on Amistis and to see if Michael was still there, Amistis was off the vent and awake.

"Hey sweet heart, how you feeling?" Gabriel asked touching her head. She smiled. "Better. Weak, but the pain is gone," she said.

"Come on, you can take me home and get some sleep yourself," Gabriel now said to Michael.

"Not till Raphael gets here," Michael said. Gabriel was trying not to get mad.

But Raphael soon came a whistling from down the hall. He soon came into the room and so Michael and Gabriel could go to the house.

On the way there Michael said, "Amistis is very ill. I do not think that she has much longer."

Gabriel looked concerned. He had to agree. "Well, that is entirely up to the Lord," he said.

"I just hope Angel won't have it as tough as that poor woman has," Gabriel said further breaking the silence.

"Amistis has been through more and has a greater severity of this disease. Maybe we'll get lucky and Angeleeka will be alright," Michael replied.

CHAPTER 6

There were these two crooks by the name of Eflack and Noland, or Nold as he was often called.

They were actual cousins to Peegee and Leegee, who were brothers. Dead now, and they also were related to Shescabob and Harley. They heard about the demise of Peegee and Leegee, Shescabob and Harley, on the account of this woman, AAyaelees, Amistis Star.

"That woman is as good as dead," Eflack said as they drove and drove to arrive at Amblen Falls.

Amistis got word that some alien friends of hers were coming for a visit to Arca. Ahha and Petra. They were brothers. They lived on a planet called Quorlec 7.

She happily told Angeleeka about them and that they were bringing their pet reindeer, Staggisus and that he could talk.

"Like Cory and Suzy?" Angel replied. Amistis still hadn't believed that one. That two cobra snakes had actually talked to her, or Angeleeka to them either.

"Come outside and I will show you," Angeleeka now said and took her hand. Grant smiled. He sipped his hot cocoa. "It's all true honey. I heard them myself. God did this. I'm not sure why, but it came from Him," he told her. He had to get to work. He put down the cup and hurried out the door. But not before Amistis wrapped her arms around him in a bear hug. She squeezed too hard.

"Space, Amistis," he said. She knew he meant she needed to give him some. He could be so funny at times but she knew he loved her. She planted a wet one next onto his lips, in which he protested about that too. It was much too slobbery and he didn't like that either and he told her about it.

Just so you know, there is no sex between Angels and humans. Grant, well, it wasn't that he couldn't. Especially in this temp of a shell; but it would be poison to her with her disease and all. And anyway, it was a marriage of companionship ONLY.

Amistis knew or suspected at least, that he was in fact, an Angel of the Lord. She saw his wings. He told her that he was from a different dimension where his people had wings in order to get around and for fighting techniques. And he also told her that their marriage had to be sex-free because of her disease, that his little fellers would be poisonous to her and she seemed to accept that just fine.

Besides, she was a very Godly woman and had handed her entire life over to the Lord when she had been but a child. The sex, she could of cared less about.

You could have a loveless marriage where the sex was wild, but the love factor was what made marriages work in the first place. Love was the glue that made the whole thing stick. No love, no stronghold, and the marriage would all come crashing apart. She knew she had what only others could dare dream about.

"Cory, Suzy, it's okay. You can come out," Angel then called breaking Amistis' thoughts on her angelic husband. Four snake eyes then peered from behind a bush.

Just then Moiya came over, so the snakes high tailed it back into the bush. She needed a place to stay. She had got evicted because her last roommate upped and left without one word and no way on her nurses salary, could she afford that place by herself.

So, Amistis told her she had a room left in the basement Moiya was more than welcome to rent.

Michael came outside next. He was wearing his white cowboy hat. He had on a white T-shirt and blue jeans. Man, but he sure looked gorgeous!

Moiya was afraid she was falling in love with him. He didn't seem to be involved with anyone. He was a real strong Christian. So was she. Amistis had led her to the Lord.

Gabriel and Raphael too, for that matter, were Christians. They were not bad looking either but Michael was just in every since of the word, beautiful.

"Angel, what did we say about them snakes being so close to the house," he spoke firm.

"We mean yyou no hharm," Cory then called out. Amistis put her hand up to her mouth in shock, as well as Moiya. Cory then slithered out a ways. Then Suzy came out. "SSorry I bit that winged one," she said.

Amistis wondered what had the snake meant by that? Or had she just misinterpreted the words?

Gabriel stepped outside. "It's alright, Amistis," he said after she looked at him worried.

"I know they got scared and didn't mean to strike me. Come here little one," Gabriel now spoke reaching out his hand to Suzy. She hesitated, then came right up to him. It was the darnest thing Amistis ever saw!

Gabriel stroked Suzy on the back. "I-I ggot ssscared. I-I tthought ssshe waass going tto hhurt mmmme," she said.

"No, no one will ever hurt you here. Be not afraid," Gabriel said. Amistis could of sworn then that the snake looked like she was smiling. She liked being stroked by Gabriel.

Michael pointed his two fingers at the snake and she followed his every move. Angeleeka, Moiya, and even Amistis laughed.

The snakes made friends that day with Amistis, Moiya, and Gabriel. They already knew who Michael, Grant, and Raphael were.

As the days passed into weeks, Suzy became less and less afraid of the people. She knew everyone at Ruty's house now. And the two snakes pretty much made the basement their home. Moiya didn't mind. Amistis had a window cracked open for them to come and go as they pleased. She told them that not many people came here, but whoever did, they were not a threat. So Suzy lost her scardy-cat attitude for good.

They made great companions for Amistis, Moiya, and Angeleeka, when the 4 Angels were away and they had to be alone at night.

"Soon my friends from another world will be arriving here, along with their pet reindeer who I know Cory and Suzy will love to play with," Amistis said one day. Cory and Suzy were sipping a cup of hot cocoa in the kitchen. Amistis made enough for everyone.

Grant smiled and took his cup. "She makes the best hot chocolate," he commented. Soon he'd be off to the hospital for another busy day in the ER.

Raph was reading the paper when Suzy handed his cup to him by the strength of her tail.

"Thank you Suzy," he said, took it and sipped it. It needed to cool a bit. But Grant had been right. It sure was good.

Cory brought Michael his. He noticed Moiya just a smiling over at him. She so much wanted to ask him out. But she was too shy yet. They were great friends. She'd leave it at that for now.

"I have to get to the hospital too," Michael now said and got up.

"Have yyour ttoast," said Suzy. The toast popped up and she caught it with her tail. She then took a butter knife with her mouth and buttered it and put on jam. She tossed it to him and he caught it as he was heading for the door.

"Have a great day Michael," Amistis called as she sipped her cocoa and crunched her toast. Out the door he went. How Moiya longed to kiss his lips.

"Bye girls," Gabriel said meaning the female cobra ones as well, and then kissed Amistis on the forehead. He did the same for Angel, Moiya, Cory, and Suzy. They just giggled like school chicks too, and then he left.

"Have a great dday," Cory called after...

Eflack and Nold would arrive in town in another couple of days...

Amistis was planning a camping trip for after when Ahha, Petra, and his pet Staggisus would arrive.

"Do you think Cory and Suzy are able to talk to us by the same ability that Staggisus can?" Amistis was wondering. Raphael was working in some patient's chart at the house. "Humm. Maybe," he spoke.

"Boy is Staggisus gonna freak over them," Amistis said. They were due tomorrow.

Amistis had told the two snakes to stay in the basement until she went to get them. She had to prepare her guests first about the talking snakes.

Amistis noticed Michael was smiling at her as she sipped on her hot chocolate. Cory and Suzy were on the counter top drinking hot cocoa too. They held the mugs with their tails and brought them up to their mouths. They loved the stuff!

Michael noticed Cory and Suzy were dressed in dolly dresses. Well, without sleeves. He knew Amistis had sewn them. They actually looked beautiful in them. He chuckled. "All they need is a wig," he commented. Moiya's heart went thump thump! Michael was so gorgeous!

Michael and Grant had the day off. They knew the guests were to arrive today and they planned on it being a smooth transition.

Ahha and Petra came right on time. Amistis hugged the little guys. The Angels noticed they were only about 3 apples tall.

Staggisus then came a racing around the house. Cory and Suzy were being pursued by him. They knew he was no threat and a guest of Amistis, but still, they were getting a bit fed up.

"Stop that!" Amistis yelled now. Michael went to catch the little deer and Stag bunted him on the rear end. Gabriel got to laughing about that.

Michael was not amused!

"Staggisus, stop that!" Petra scolded.

"The snakes are our friends. They can talk like your rein deer can," Amistis began to tell them.

"I'm not makin friends with no snakes! I hate snakies!" Staggisus said. Suzy hissed and hissed at him. Raphael tried to grab the deer next which got his hand bit.

"Staggisus, how dare you!" Amistis told him.

Petra grabbed his deer by the horns now and pulled him to one of the downstairs bedrooms for him to cool off in. The door was shut and they all could hear the deer smashing and smashing against the door.

"What is the matter with him?" Amistis asked. Staggisus could act up but this, she had never seen that behavior before.

"Oh, it's teenage rebellion. I am so fed up with it!" Petra said almost in a holler. He was about to pull his hair out from his head.

Amistis then had Ahha and Petra meet the snakes. Staggisus had torn Cory's dress.

"I am so sorry," Petra said and said. But then by that evening Staggisus was all calmed down and made friends with the snakes. So much so in fact it was like they had always been best friends.

But sometimes Stag would insult them. "You are so UGLY," he'd say.

"Well, you lllllook like the rear eeend of a caninnnne!" Suzy told him back.

The camping trip was all planned for day after tomorrow.

CHAPTER 7

It was hard for Cory, Suzy, and Staggisus, the last night before going camping. Cory and Suzy were so very excited.

Amistis had planned to have them wear wigs while riding in the van, along with a dress so they'd look less like snakes and more like little girls.

Akos and Bergonby were going to go, as well as Moiya, so she told them that Cory and Suzy were from the same planet as Ahha and Petra were, so that everyone would accept the snakes.

And it worked too. They accepted them fine just like they had Staggisus many years ago.

Cory, Suzy, and Staggisus were just a jumping up and down on the seat as music played, while the van drove up into the mountains.

It was starting to get on Grant's nerves big time too. Amistis could see it coming.

"Knock it off!" he finally blew. Staggisus stuck his tongue out at him then, making that noise. Cory and Suzy soon joined in too. Grant's lips were pulled tight. He about had it.

Raphael was squinting himself fed up too, and so he turned and looked at the two snakes. He did not have to say one word either. They then told Stag they had to be more quiet.

But Staggisus still kept it up which in the end, Petra warned him if he did not stop, they'd have to stick him in the trunk, so he shut right up.

Moiya rode in Michael's truck along with Gabriel. Angeleeka wanted to ride with him too but there just was not enough room. Not in the back either because all the camping stuff was tied down under a tarp. So she rode in the van Akos rented for the weekend.

That's how long they'd be. They'd left Friday as soon as he got off work. That would give them just enough time to get up into the mountains and pitch the tents.

But by the time they all got there it was getting dark and when they found the right place by a creek, Michael offered the lights of his truck, as well as Akos, the van headlights, so that they could see to finish putting up the tents.

Michael started a campfire and they all roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. Cory and Suzy sure smacked them up.

Amistis had told Petra and Ahha to go along with it about Cory and Suzy being from their world so the rest of the guests wouldn't get scared. Petra being a Christian didn't much care about lying.

"Maybe they are from another world," he added as she talked with them later on alone.

"Maybe. I don't rightly know where they are from. Do you have talking snakes on Quorlec 7?" Amistis asked.

"Not that I have heard of but they could be from some other planet that does. If it gets asked straight out I will not lie. I will tell them the truth, that they are not exactly from Quorlec 7," Petra said. Amistis hoped it wouldn't get brought up.

Little did anyone know but Noland and Eflack were now arriving in Amblen Falls.

They went to Academy Hospital to inquire about Amistis Star. That they were lawyers and she had inherited a huge mansion on Vegros, and they needed to find her.

Nurse Becky was on duty at the time. She then told them that Amistis and the gang were on a camping trip but would be back by Monday. They then left to find a motel room and to make plans in how to kidnap Amistis.

Moiya's tent fell down in the night. "Huh?" she jerked awake. A wind came up and it wasn't fastened to a tree like the others, so down it went. Staggisus got to laughing as her tent flew away. Amistis told her she could come stay inside her's. AAyael's was shared along with her husband Grant. The two snakes, Staggisus, and Angeleeka.

4 sets of eyes looked at Moiya as she came into the tent. One set was Cory's, and the other, Suzy's.

Staggisus had made too much fuss so he had to stay outside. Grant just would not stand for it having that little deer staying inside.

Amistis zipped up the tent so he couldn't get back inside. He was picking a fight with Suzy again. It began to rain and thunderstorm now, and he got scared so he began to dig his way under the tent to get in. Amistis heard it.

She heard a taring sound too now. "What's that?" she said, then two antlers were seen and then a head, and then all of Staggisus came in. He had torn a hole in the tent's bottom!

Water came in as well! Grant tried to tape up the hole. They were both so mad at that deer!

Moiya had brought some safety pens so they penned the fabric together, folding it. It stopped the rain coming in at least.

Staggisus was just being mean and nasty, so Amistis grabbed his horns and shoved him out the door after unzipping it.

So now he sat outside just a bawling. He went and found shelter in the crevice under a shrub.

He went a tattle telling that next morning.

Petra gave Amistis a dirty look after she got up and came to have breakfast. Michael wasn't feeling so good. His chest hurt. He felt breathless. Maybe it was the high altitude.

Cory and Suzy sure were having the time of their lives. They went zipping through a meadow. Amistis smiled. She envied their basic freedom.

She went over to Michael. She loved everything about him. And Moiya, how she longed to get really close to him.

Gabriel wasn't a bad looker either and she felt quite compelled to win his affections besides Michael's. But Michael, her heart went after more.

She decided to test it out to see if he had the same desire to know her. But then Amistis beat her to the punch. She took his hand and smiled. "Want to go for a walk?" she asked. He smiled. "With you beautiful, always," was his reply. Moiya's heart flopped to the ground and jealously sprang forth. She followed scowling.

But as they walked she sensed something was the matter. He didn't seem himself and he got out of breath. "What's wrong Michael?" she asked. Amistis too was concerned now. He was her best friend, besides Grant that is.

"I think it's just this high altitude. I'm not used to it, is all," he said.

"You never been in a high altitude before?" Moiya asked him. He really hadn't since the change his angelic body had gone through. He then went over to Amistis. Moiya frowned.

"How about you, you feeling alright?" he asked her. Moiya wished she were ill and had that attention Amistis got.

He felt Amistis' forehead for fever. "I'm fine," she said and smiled. Grant soon caught up with them. "There you are," he said. They gave a peck on each other's lips now. Moiya wanted to get a peck from Michael. How she wanted to kiss him and had planned to play it by ear but he looked genuinely flushed and pale. Even Grant now noticed that something was wrong with his comrade.

They headed back down to the camp site.

Michael kept feeling worse. He was about passed out by the time he, Grant, Moiya, and Amistis came back down. Moiya left him to rest on a rock while Amistis and Grant stayed to watch him while she went the rest of the way back down.

"Raph, Gabriel, something is terribly the matter with Michael!" Moiya blared running into the camp now. Raphael was fishing with a pole. He withdrew the line out from the water. She saw he had used a long stick and tied line to it with a hook that held a worm.

"What's happened?" now asked Gabriel pulling in his line too a bit farther down the stream.

They rushed up the incline with her to where Michael was.

"Hey, buddy," Gabriel said approaching him. He was just a sweating. Raphael walked over to where Grant was, who was taking Michael's pulse again. Gabriel felt on Michael's neck. His pulse was just a racing.

Grant had whispered something to Raphael. Raph then felt on Michael's neck next. He felt a few skips. "We need to get him down off this mountain, now," he told Gabriel and Grant.

Amistis too helped get Michael down the rest of the way. But Staggisus had been playing I-Spy and he had popped all 4 tires of Akos' van with his horns.

"That is just swell," Akos honked.

"We can use my truck. Not to worry," Michael said and slapped Akos on the back and smiled.

"Not all can go however. Some of you can remain here and camp. No use this spoiling everyone's fun," Gabriel said. He tried to smile too now.

"What do you suppose is the matter?" AAyael asked Grant who put his ear to Michael's chest to try to listen.

"I believe it's his heart. What is wrong I do not know till tests and a chest x-ray are done. Could be a virus or Rheumatic Fever," Grant explained.

"I've had Rheumatic Fever. When I was a teenager. I had to have a heart transplant," Amistis revealed. Michael was shocked. So was Grant for that matter. This, his wife had not revealed to him.

"Dear Lord in Heaven! Oh Amistis, you sure have had a rough life, and so young!" Michael blared.

Michael was specialized in heart surgeries himself. That's what he studied to become once he came here. Fresh out of Angelic Med school too. He knew it was his heart. But then they all saw the tires to his truck were flat as well.

"Staggisus!" Amistis said fed up. She went and just yelled at the deer now. Made him cry. He went a hopping off into the woods. At that point she didn't care if he ever came back.

"We'll go find him," said Suzy. She and Cory dashed off then.

Gabriel and Raphael had Michael lay down in their tent.

"Well, I do not believe he is in heart failure. He does need to stay down and rest and not overdue. His color has returned and he no longer is panting," Raph told them.

Amistis sat by Michael. She gave him a grape soda. Moiya stood a ways away watching them, biting her lip. She wished she had thought to do that.

Raphael and Gabriel were going to figure out how to get them all back down the mountain. They could hike down but place Michael on a home- made gurney made from two tree branches and a sheet tied to them to lay him on.

They got busy constructing it. They both were very helpful and Amistis was glad that there were several doctors here in case Michael's condition should worsen further but it didn't. He was able to fish and walk around the camp but do no more than that.

Gabriel was constructing the stretcher and now he had Michael lay on it.

"I can walk just like the rest of you," Michael told him.

"Get on the stretcher," Gabriel said. Michael didn't like his bossy tone.

"What about Staggisus? I am not leaving him here, out in the wild," Petra protested.

"Stay behind. Cory and Suzy know these woods. They said they'd find him. Come with us or remain here. Akos, Raphael, or Gabriel will come back, up the mountain for you later," Amistis told him. Petra didn't like her attitude.

"Let's go Petra. Your pet has spoiled it for us again. I told you to leave him on Quorlec 7, and rent a room for him at the kennel," Ahha began saying and they got into a big argument then.

Gabriel got to sweating lugging Michael on the cot. It was hot too now and the middle of the afternoon. But Raph took his turn next. Grant too took turns. They all went a huffing and a puffing, and a sweating when it was their turn.

We then all rested and Amistis handed Raph and Gabe a cold soda pop. They sure were thankful for it. She handed one next to her poor hot and thirsty husband. He popped it open thanking her and began to gulp it down. He belched LOUDLY not having any control. He was embarrassed and apologized. Everyone laughed.

Michael thanked Amistis when she handed him one next. They just looked at Grant then. He gave out a huge belch again. Michael, Amistis, Moiya, Raphael, and Angeleeka burst out in laughter over it. Off they went soon after.

Amistis felt sorry for Grant. He was so hot and sweaty. He looked miserable lugging Michael along when it came his turn again. Raphael's hands were shot. He had terrible rope burns from when it had been his turn to pull Michael along. It was hard on that gravel road.

So then Grant took a turn again. Gabriel had tripped and fell twisting his ankle when he had had his turn, so he just could not pull Mike any more.

"Akos, go take a turn so Grant can rest," Amistis said. But he couldn't pull it.

"I'm fine Amistis," Grant said and took the ropes and began to pull Michael along.

"This is stupid guys! I said I can walk! Besides, I am feeling even better coming off that high altitude now," Michael said getting up off the cot.

"Get back on!" Gabriel blared. Grant was just too tired. He was small like Michael so Gabe volunteered to take an extra turn. Raph's hands were bleeding.

"Maybe we can get a ride into town," Michael said ignoring Gabriel and he went and put his thumb out. Cars came but they were mostly men so none stopped.

"Amistis, come over here," Michael then said having an idea. "Roll your pants up, and tie your shirt like this, and then swing those hips. You'll soon get a ride no problem," he said re-fixing her cute blouse, but Grant protested big time. Moiya was crestfallen Michael hadn't asked her.

Grant and Michael got to bickering.

"For heaven's sake!" Gabriel honked. Amistis smirked. So she did as Michael advised and soon a young man stopped for her. "Where do you need to get to?" he asked her.

"My friend here is not used to the high climate. I need to get him to Amblen Falls, to the hospital so he can be checked," she said.

"Well, hop in you two, and I'll take the other woman too," the guy said. Moiya smiled as he smiled at her. She got in the front with Amistis, and Michael got in the back. Grant, near exhaustion, tried for the door of the backseat now.

"Oh, no, sorry. I can only take these three," the guy told him. Grant only squinted at him.

Gabriel by now was a bit cranky too. His sprained ankle was really starting to bother him, but the young man was firm on it that he would only take the women and that one blond man.

"Just swing those hips you two... scrawny, and big guy. You'll get a ride, if a cutie single woman happens along, that is," Michael said and he and Amistis got to laughing so hard on that. Gabriel huffed and Grant was fit to be tied. He was NOT amused.

Gabriel walked and walked and walked. So did Akos, Raphael, and Grant. But then later on that same evening, an older woman, who had her sister in the car with her, stopped for Akos, Raph, Grant, and Gabriel.

The driver smoked which really irritated Gabriel and Akos, and the older sister in the back seat with Grant and Raphael kept touching and tickling on them both. Grant kept telling her to knock it off. That it was inappropriate behavior, and that he was married.

Boy was Grant and Raphael never more glad to get out of that car!

Why, she even squeezed the cheeks of Raph's rear-end when he got out. His face turned beat red.

Grant only squinted at the ungodly acting woman. She winked and gave him her phone number but he not only wanted to throw it away when they left, but he and Raphael burned it with one of his matches. Gabriel himself was trying to keep a straight face.

Bergonby, Ahha, and Petra rode in the car with a young college student who was nice enough to stop for them a while back. Bergonby had him drop them off at Academy Hospital.

CHAPTER 8

Cory, Suzy, and Staggisus had a blast making it back to Ruty's house. Stag could fly and the snakes were fast as well. They got back in no time at all.

They were in the back yard when everyone came home late that night around 2 am. All but Michael, who had been admitted into the hospital. His heart was slightly enlarged and he needed some tests.

"Hi sweetie," Moiya said and came into Michael's hospital room.

"Hey," he replied equally happy to see her. She gave him a soft kiss on the lips. It was long overdue. He didn't seem to mind. In fact he thought the kiss quite nice. It wasn't inappropriate.

But he did wonder then if she had another relationship in mind besides being best friends. He knew Angels like him never married or even had any kind of relationship anywhere near it... well, Grant had married Amistis, but it was very necessary on the account of the rarity of her disease, and that she had nobody to watch over her when such critical moments made a difference between life and death.

It was in fact, circumstances beyond her control so Grant had volunteered. He did it out of love and love was the greatest of things, but normally an Angel would not marry a Human. They were happy just being sisters and brothers. Humanity could learn a thing or two from them, let me tell you. If he had been a human he would of pursued that sweet thing in a heartbeat.

Moiya loved Michael. She could not stop thinking about him.

Tests showed that Michael had a valve that needed replaced. It got damaged from the bad reaction he got when he was inoculated. Sometimes it happened.

Gabriel himself had some flare ups on occasion where he had fever and joint pain. Michael told Amistis it was probably Rheumatic Fever syndrome.

Not the real Rheumatic Fever, but something very similar that his kind could get when being inoculated.

He said Gabe had another set of shots to go through in a few months and that it could make the syndrome worse, but it had to be done despite the risks. That's all he said. He was not going to spill the beans and tell her they were Angels. That was not allowed.

So surgery was scheduled. But Michael chickened out and checked out of the hospital. Gabriel was fit to be tied.

"I'll have it done in a month or so. I feel fine. Maybe it will clear up on its own, I being an Angel, I can regenerate better than a human," he told him back at the house.

The Spirit told Gabriel what he had to do. They had to help Michael and he had to have the surgery. So when Michael went to bed that night, Gabriel told Amistis, Moiya, and Angeleeka what he had to do. It was for his own good.

He took ether and placed it over Michael's nose and mouth as he slept and it knocked him unconscious. He then picked up his comrade and carried him to his car.

Gabriel had sent a toe truck to get Michael's truck and Akos' van. They had arrived just today. With new tires on them.

Michael was placed in the backseat of Gabriel's car. Amistis and Moiya climbed in the back too to sit next to him. Angeleeka sat up front as Gabriel drove to the hospital. "Akos, Grant, and Raphael are ready for him. I called them," he explained.

Soon Michael was prepared for the surgery. Macnies would be the main surgeon. Gabriel and Grant would go to observe. Amistis wanted to come into the room too but Macnies said no. She huffed off.

She went up to the observatory.

"Forgive me Michael, this needed to get done and in your weakened state it just was too much for you to decide," Gabriel told his unconscious conrad.

Michael was now on the life support needed for the surgery and the surgeon then began the procedure.

All went well and there was no complications. Michael's heart started right back up as soon as he was taken off bypass. The spiral tubing that went to the operating room ventilator was unhooked from the air way down Michael's throat and re-hooked to an ambu bag. Raphael squeezed on it as he was taken to ICU.

Michael remained zonked clear through the night not aware what had happened. Gabriel felt a little bit guilty but the Spirit had OK-ed for him to take over.

Michael became vaguely aware that he had some kind of surgery. "Hi," Amistis said. He stretched and tried to wake up. He was off the vent and in a normal hospital room now. The only discomfort he noticed was real bad heartburn.

"Oh no! I remembered a weird dream I had!" he outburst, and then tried to sit up. He saw he was in the hospital. Gabriel came in and smiled at him.

"Big guy, you didn't!" Michael barked.

"Mikie, it was necessary. Gabriel had to make a tough call so he did," Amistis tried to explain. Michael pulled his hand away from her. "What did you do Gabriel? Knock me out with ether?" Michael blared now. Amistis didn't blame him.

"I'm sorry Michael. But your fine now. The surgery is over and a complete success," Gabriel told him.

Michael was fit to be tied. He didn't speak to anybody from that day on. Not any of them. He especially was cold toward Gabriel. The nerve!

"Go home Amistis," Michael told her bluntly that next day when she came to try to cheer him up. Her lips quivered as she left.

Gabriel came to pick Michael up and bring him back to the house. He said not a one word. Gabriel didn't blame him.

The only persons Michael talked to back at the house were Ahha, Petra, Staggisus, Cory, and Suzy.

He did not say one word to Angeleeka, Moiya, Amistis, Grant, Raphael, or Gabriel because they all helped in the plot, as he saw it.

Amistis wasn't feeling good. She went and sobbed on her bed. Grant squinted at him and tightened his lips. "Michael, your being a real B, you know that! Amistis had no say so in it, anymore than Moiya, Angeleeka, or even I did for that matter. Yeah, the girls came for moral support, that was all," he told him flat. He sighed. "Amistis was there too after the surgery," Grant said.

"Ok, I'll go have a talk with her, then the rest of the girls, but yoUR not off the hook, Bucko!" Michael barked.

“Fine!” Grant yelled right back at him.

But when he and Grant went upstairs they couldn't get Amistis to wake up. "Gabriel, call for an ambulance!" his voice then harped down the stairs.

Amistis was very ill. Michael wasn't sure she'd make it though the night. Grant sat, took her hand and just sobbed.

He, Michael, and Gabriel stayed with her. Michael took her other hand. "Please Father, don't take this sweet child, not yet," he said about to tears. Gabriel patted his back. "I know. I love her too," he said.

Amistis had arrested but they were able to restart her heart. "The herb just is not working this time," Michael told Grant. Michael then went to do more research on her terrible disease. He sure hoped Angeleeka wasn't in for such a tough ride having been diagnosed with the same thing.

Michael did his homework. He researched for days. Amistis was in a coma.

"Son, give her this," High'Aba'Ja said approaching His Angel. They embraced.

"It's not her time yet, but soon Michael, I will be calling her," He told him. The Father was in special Angelic Form. He then went to have a word with Grant. He basically told him the same thing he had Michael. "Soon Grant, she will be home and no longer in pain."

Grant knew his time was soon to come where he'd be reassigned. He wanted to go home too, to be with Amistis. It had been such a long time since he'd been home. But the Father told him that He had other assignments for him still. Soon they'd be together in Heaven, forever.

When Michael put Amistis on the IV, she began to get better. A lot better. It was not a cure. Michael knew that one day she would die from this disease. Maybe even within the next year. He hoped she had many years ahead of her.

Amistis was still on pain medication but she was off the vent. She was still in intensive care.

"I love you Michael. I want to marry you," Moiya came right out and said getting it out in the open. She just couldn't stand it any longer.

He took her hand. "Honey, you know I love you too. If I were a human, I would of," he said. She glared at him. What had he meant by that? Michael knew he had made a slip of the tongue and it was too late to fix now. So he had to compromise.

"What do you mean, are you not human?" Moiya barked. She was trying not to let it hurt her heart what he said. It was very plainly a rejection.

The Spirit gave him the words to say next. "I am not a human. I am a Jeni. We do not marry unless it is preordained while we are still but children." he told her kindly. She had heard of his kind. Came from a planet called Zies. Still, it did not lesson her pain.

CHAPTER 9

Eflack and Noland took the wrong girl. They had directions to Ruty's house but they took Angeleeka by mistake.

"Have you seen Angeleeka?" Raphael asked when Michael and Gabriel got home from work that night. They looked all over for her but they could not find her. Gabriel feared she might have been taken by the Dark Empire.

He and Michael went to pay Amistis a visit at the hospital. To tell her that Angeleeka was missing. She too knew about what the Dark Empire was capable of. "I can contact my father, Zartharyos, and have him keep watch and try to find her," she said.

"Oh no, I don't want you to do that!" Grant blared. Amistis took his hand. "Honey, he could help. I won't be in any danger. We have an understanding now... Grant, you know that," she told him. He still was dead set against it.

"I agree with Grant honey, but, if it is the only way to find her. Gabriel and I will aide you in whatever you'll need. Definitely be backup," Michael said.

So Amistis put out the word that she needed to speak to her father.

Zarthar would arrive on Hiracia's Moon. He took a shuttle from his humongous Olympia Star Station.

He stopped in his tracks when his eyes caught sight of one of those winged beings! Michael was flexing his wings. Amistis was not in sight and he needed to stretch them a bit from being hidden.

But Zarthar saw. Zarthar had had dealings in the past with winged beings. He suspected Amistis' own husband was one of them. He was strong in Life Source, as scrawny looking as he was.

Michael sensed danger and immediately the wings disappeared. Zarthar fired his lazer pistol. He barely missed Michael. Michael flung away from him.

Amistis too now came outside from the shuttle she, Michael, Grant, Gabriel, and Raphael had come here in; and she saw Zarthar trying to fire upon Michael! That steamed her blood!

"ZarthAR!" she hollered. He turned his head hearing her voice. He was encased inside his armored prison. He could remove his helmet but he had to live inside the suit.

He was on artificial breathing. He had a robotic arm and leg. Most of his brain on the left side was replaced with robotics. His face bone replaced by silicone. Ghastly black knight of death is what Michael thought.

"It's a trap! Amistis, get back inside the shuttle!" Raphael yelled. Zarthar fired and hit Michael knocking him out. He then fired on Raphael next.

"No!" Amistis roared. Gabriel fired upon Zarthar now with his own laser weapon. Zarthar had his men take Raphael and Michael on board his shuttle. This was not turning out like Amistis had hoped. What went wrong?

Grant grabbed her arm and pulled her into the shuttle. "We'll come back!" he promised her.

"Better prepared next time. With reinforcements," Gabriel told them.

Cory and Suzy found this old shack way up in the mountains. They came back to tell the people living at Ruty's house but no one was home. Staggisus was though. "I heard Amistis say she was contacting her father, Zartharos, to get help 'cause they suspect Angeleeka was taken by the dark star," Stag said.

"You mean the Dark Empire," Cory corrected.

"What can we do now, Cory? Maybe go get the aide of our brother, Daniel, to help rescue Angeleeeeeeeka," Suzy hissed.

"He won't want to help the human. He would rather strike her and kill her," Cory said back.

"Than itszz up to uszzz," Suzy said. So, she, her sister, plus Staggisus went off to rescue the girl.

"I'm not Amistis Star!" Angeleeka told the dumb knuckle heads for the 5th time again.

Grant needed the aide of a Travelor to get on board the Dark Knight's huge space station undetected. Times like this he wished he had all his angelic powers but he gave that up to be vulnerable, to be among the humans and his wife, to serve them that way. It was the highest honor that any Angel could have.

Aam Reggai was such a Travelor. He would take him on board the Olympia after Grant contacted him and told him the situation.

"I need to come too," Amistis said.

"Nothing doing, darling. I'm taking you back to the house," Grant replied, kind but firm. So he had Aam take her back to Ruty's house in his space ship.

Eflack and Nold saw two cobra snakes come into the hut. They ran off scared. Cory knew they were no threat to them. Angeleeka then hugged their long snake necks. "Are you safe?" Cory asked her.

"I'm fine," she said and smiled. Angeleeka followed them back to the house.

Grant came out through the door after the ship landed inside the house. The ship traveled inner dimensionally so it could do that. The ship was WAY bigger on the inside than on the out. Aam disguised the door to look like a closet door.

Angeleeka came from the kitchen with a soda pop in her hands when she noticed Grant step out from a closet. Funny, she had never noticed a closet door there before. Grant was shocked to see her. He planned to find her and get her rescued next after retrieving Michael and Raphael back.

"Oh, honey, am I ever glad to see you!" he outburst and hugged the stuffing out of her.

"Where'd you come from?" she asked as Amistis stepped out next from the closet and then a man she had never seen before. "How big is that closet?" she asked.

"It's not really a closet but a threshold into his space ship," Grant explained to her. She popped her head inside. She saw a HUGE control center. "Huh?" she barked.

"I'll explain some other time but I have to go rescue Michael and Raphael now," Grant said.

"Where from?" Angeleeka asked but Grant had gone back inside the ship along with Reggai, and soon the door disappeared altogether.

Amistis then told her the situation. "Where are the thugs that took you?" she asked her.

"The snakes scared them off so I could get away but there is an old abandoned shack I'm sure they will be returning to," Angel said. So Amistis got on the horn to tell the authorities about it.

"Ok honey, thanks for telling me. I'll get right on it," Rhaffa, the main sheriff to these mountains then said.

Zarthar had both Michael and Raphael strung up in chains, suspended from a ceiling. Raphael knew Michael still was recovering from his heart surgery and didn't have his full strength back yet.

"Leave him alone! I'll tell you whatever you need," he said not wanting that horrible man who was dead inside, to harm Michael any further. He was using a shocking whip on Michael every time he asked a question and didn't like the answer that Michael gave. It was cruel and uncalled for.

"Oh, you'll tell me what I want to know," Zarthar boomed from behind his mask.

Reggai's ship appeared but as a corridor that wasn't really there. Out they stepped dressed in the same attire as Zarthar's men wore.

"You two, come over here," Zarthar said to the two men who now came into the main torture chamber. Zarthar had no idea who they really were. Gabriel was appalled to see what Zar was doing to his angelic comrades. Just appalled!

"Take these to their holding cells while I get prepared more tortures, and this time tomorrow I will use drugs," he boomed. So Grant went to unlatch Michael from his chains as Gabriel did Raph.

"It's me buddy," Grant said. Michael opened his eyes. "Castiel? " he questioned.

"I'm getting you out of here my friend. Play along, for now," Grant told him. Gabriel told Raphael the same thing mainly.

Zarthar chuckled as the two men dragged the two winged beings down a corridor. Zarthar didn't realize that it wasn't REALLY THERE. He went a marching down another direction. They had left right from under his nose.

Once back to the house, Grant put Michael to bed. He then came out and closed the door to the bedroom Michael was staying in. Amistis stood there. "How is he?" she asked. Gabriel wanted to know the same thing. Grant had a stethoscope hung around his neck. "He's going to be okay. But he needs lots of bed rest," he told them.

Amistis hugged him then. "Thank you!" she said about to tears.

"Don't blame yourself honey. Your father is a terrible menace and God will deal with him soon enough," he told her. He knew how much this hurt her.

CHAPTER 10

Amistis was scheduled to work in Emergency. But she awoke feeling feverish and her head hurt. She made it in to work though. Michael drove her. He was on duty too today. Tonight actually. He was going back home and to run some errands.

Raphael wasn't on duty till this evening so Moiya and Duncan were at the hospital when Amistis got there. Duncan looked at his watch. "Your late," he almost snapped. Amistis just didn't feel good.

Raphael came on duty later on after 3 PM. Amistis was to tears. Duncan had been barking out orders to her all day and he was frankly, fed up with her slow service to his patients.

"What's the matter darlin?" Raphael asked approaching her. He felt right off she was warm with fever. Moiya came over.

"You look pale sweetheart. Come, sit down over here and let me take a look at you," Raphael said.

So she sat on a bed. "Oh, Duncan has been impossible to work with today!" she horned.

"I'll go sign you out. Your just not well AAyael, and you should not be working," Raphael said and stuck a thermometer into her mouth.

"But I love my job," she said between gritted teeth. Raphael went marching over to Duncan. "Duncan, why didn't you just send her home? You know she's not well," he began.

"She needs to be excused from her job is what needs to be done," he honked.

"Now see here," Raph replied not liking his tone.

"I don't want her back in my ER," Duncan then said.

"YOUR ER? Since when have you OWNED this emergency room?" Raphael barked right back at him. Amistis smirked over at Moiya. She loved his deep south accent. He was a General Custer to a tee. He even had had the same goatee type beard and mustache.

His hair was a gorgeous shoulder length, light strawberry blond. His beard and mustache had matched that beautiful color, that was, before he shaved them off a while back. But he was even more striking now that he didn't have them to hide away his strong jaw bone structure. His eyes were more like an aqua blue. Biggest, nicest smile she'd ever seen on a guy. He was almost angelic in appearance she'd have to say.

"Come on honey, I'm taking you home," Raphael then said interrupting her daydream she was having about him.

From then on Raphael only had her working part-time when he went on duty or Michael. Moiya too was getting awfully tired of working the same days with Duncan Fraser.

Summer was over and now the season turned to fall and the weather turned colder. Amistis smirked at how her little friends Jackmist Frost, and Ardimus Winters would react to the two talking snakes. They knew about Staggisus so it should not over shock them too much. She snickered and snickered.

Because the weather was colder, Amistis found the two snakes had trouble staying awake.

"Turn the heat up, Misty. It's the cold. It slows them down and they will hibernate if you don't keep the house warm enough. Keep them inside. Do not let them go outside at all, all winter," Raphael told her.

Angeleeka met Jackmist and Ardimus. She got such a crush on Jack. The little elf guy was just so cute! But she came down real sick. Had terrible pain on her left side and she was running a fever. Raphael told her if she wasn't better by morning he was taking her to the hospital.

She got much worse in the night so he bundled her up in a blanket and drove her to the hospital. Amistis went with them. Michael, Grant, and Gabriel were already at the hospital working.

Raphael ran some blood tests. Her left kidney was failing. No recourse to take but to give her his. Their blood and tissue type were a match.

Angeleeka was so touched that he would do this fore her.

"Think nothing of it darling. My kidney will grow back, but you cannot regenerate like I can," he explained to her.

"Your an Angel," Amistis told him and hugged him.

"More than you know," he said. He winked at Angeleeka.

Angeleeka and Raphael did fine through their surgeries. Raph was a bit sore but Angeleeka took real well to her new kidney and got better fast. A week later he was able to drive her home.

Eflack and Nold had other plans. To do away with Amistis Star and her friends. Eflack was into satanic worship. Demons promised him riches, if he killed the traitors of their master, Satan.

Eflack prepared a special solution to rid Raphael. The demons told him he had to die in his current state.

Moiya was going to do it. Tell Michael how she felt about him.

"I'm in love with him," she told Raphael when after he came home from work. She felt she could tell him. He was easy to talk to. It took him totally by surprise. Sometimes he forgot she and especially Amistis, were human beings. Amistis was the angels' Angel.

"Uuh.. Ah oh," he said. She just looked at him.

What was he to tell her? He decided to play it cool but have a talk with Michael next chance he saw him, but Raphael got busy and forgot.

Michael came home. It was around Christmas- time and he was to go with Amistis and Moiya, up into the mountains to chop down a tree. Raphael, Grant, and Gabriel couldn't go. They had to work but Michael had today off.

Up in the mountains as they looked for the tree, Moiya kissed him, just like that. "I love you, Michael," she said.

He thought her kiss was nice but a bit too wet. "Well, I love you too, mush-head," he said.

"No, I mean, I really love you, I want to spend my whole life with you. I just don't care if you are a Jeni and haveruules of who to marry. I want to get married and have babies," she said. Her heart was just a thumping. He stopped in his tracks. Amistis just looked at him, then at Moiya.

“I told you, I can't marry you,” Micheal told her firmly. Why hadn't she dropped this foolish crush on him?

"In love. I'm in love. I want us to see each other," she got out. He swallowed. What was he to do now? He couldn't tell her all of it. That he was an Angel, and angels did not have that kind of a relationship.

He did not want to lead her on. He sighed. "Honey, I don't feel the same," he finally said. He knew he had to. He could not pretend. Her face fell and he felt like a first class heel.

"Moiya, I adore you. Sweetheart. You are one of my best friends," he said.

Michael was trying to take Moiya's hand but she pulled away. "No," she barely spoke. She could not be best buddies with him!

"That's fine. I understand. I'm cold. Going back to the truck," she said and began to leave. She sobbed and sobbed. He got the tree cut down, then he and Amistis dragged it back to the truck. He had given Moiya the keys to start the engine and turn the heater on. He saw she was just a crying. He felt horrible. He loved her with all his angelic heart could hold. "Oh Father, why does it have to be so hard?" he prayed.

When they got home she ran up the stairs. Raphael heard her crying. "What happened?" he barked. Michael then told him.

"Oh man! I totally forgot. I knew her feelings for you were deep. She told me last week and I was going to give you the heads up on it," he said.

"Why didn't you tell me! I could of prepared myself better! I already knew she had some crush on me, and I told her before some lame excuse; that my people get promised for marriage at a real young age," Michael roared at him now.

"I got busy. I forgot. I'm sorry," Raph replied.

Raphael knocked on the door. "If it's Michael, GO AWAY!" Moiya growled.

"Honey, it's Raphael," she heard. She sat up and wiped her eyes. When he asked if he could come in, she said yes.

"He said he didn't feel the same way," she then sobbed to him. He held her as she cried. "Honey, he loves you very much. So do I," he said and wiped a big tear from her eye. She looked into his blue eyes. Man, was he handsome, she noticed.

Michael did not look so good in the light of her eyes any longer. Raphael was much better looking.

She was about to say something to see if he'd like to go out with her, when he said, "Truth is Moiya, Michael, Gabriel, and I belong to a certain Christian sect, and we cannot marry. We devoted our whole lives to Christ instead," he said feeling moved, compelled even, by the Spirit, to speak this.

"Yes, we are like the Jeni," he spoke sensing that was her next question. "And we are allowed to not accept our traditions to serve God. But only that," he explained to her.

"Grant too, but he married Amistis anyway because she is so ill, to help take care of her, she should not be alone. They fell in love but they both have taken the oath of chastity, even though they got married," Raphael could feel his mouth just a flapping and the words flowing forth. Well, it was more the truth than not. Moiya looked up at him.

"I loved him. Fine. I don't think I will ever marry either," she said.

"How bout we go out for a pizza and go do some bowling. Nothing against friends doing fun stuff together," he then invited.

"Why didn't Michael say that then? Instead he said, 'I don't feel the same,' " Moiya blurted out now. Raphael took her hand. "Well, the truth is, he does care for you very much. So do I. I'd marry you in a second if I wasn't involved with serving our Lord," Raphael told her. She was so deeply touched.

"I guess the words just came out all wrong. Don't hold it against him. He didn't mean it as you took it, Moiya," Raphael said.

"You truly are a gift from God," she told him. They then went to tell Michael about the outing and to invite him too. But Moiya hoped he'd say no. But he said he'd love to.

"Raphael is my best friend," she told him matter of factly as they went to get into his truck. Angeleeka was there. Amistis too squeezed in. Gabriel went too, but he drove the van which Grant, Ardimus, Jackmist, Staggisus, Ahha, Petra also went. Cory and Suzy wanted to go but it was too cold out.

Amistis sat next to Raphael and Moiya kept wanting to be the only one who got any attention from him, she wanted Amistis to go sit with her hubby and leave Raphael to her.

At the pizza parlor Ahha, Petra, Staggisus, Jackmist, and Ardimus all sat at a booth for aliens that were small, their size.

Staggisus smacked down his cheese pizza. "CheeeeZZZeeey," he said. Angeleeka laughed.

"Boy, was that good. Man, am I ever full," Raphael said. Michael gave out a belch. Gabriel just looked at him.

"After Christmas, Ahha and I will be returning to Quorlec 7 and I have a favor to ask of you, AAyael," Petra said.

"Staggisus, we are leaving with you until the end of summer comes. There is a bad epidemic of a reindeer flu virus going around and I don't want him exposed," Petra said.

"Huh?" Staggisus spoke.

"Sure, he can stay," Amistis replied.

"He'd better be good," Grant then said under his breath. Raphael heard.

"You can discipline him as you see fit," Petra also put in.

"Huh?" Stag honked.

"I suggest giving him a time out in a closet. That's what I do back home," Petra revealed his secret to him and Amistis. Raphael blurted out then in a little laugh. It was kind of funny. He cleared his throat.

"And, if Amistis too misbehaves, we'll put her in a closet along with him," Michael then said in a tease. Amistis squinted at him. Raphael gave her a wink.

For Christmas Moiya got a glass horse from Michael. It was beautiful. She was very touched but she still hadn't warmed back up to him too good. Raphael got her a snow dome. Inside the snow globe was a nice big house with lights on it and a Christmas tree outside with lights on it. He also got that, well, a different scenery for Amistis, but it was a Christmas looking snow globe too.

Michael got AAyael a glass dolphin. Grant got Moiya a fancy little table lamp. For his wife he got her a nice white fancy pair of gloves. They had little diamonds in them.

"Here, watch this," Raph said to Amistis and wound up her snow globe. The whole globe inside lit up now. He then did Moiya's. "Oh wow!" she exclaimed.

"Yeah, they both run on battery energy. It takes a circular type battery. You can get it at any hardware store," he explained.

All in all it was a wonderful Christmas.

Staggisus cried like a baby when Ahha and Petra left. He moped around for weeks. But he finally seemed to snap out of it. The weather began to turn warmer and so Cory and Suzy could finally go back outside to play.

"I have an assignment," Michael told Raphael, Grant, and Gabriel.

"I'd better go tell my goodbye to Amistis and Moiya," he said.

"Oh, they both have grown so attached to you. They sure will miss you," Raphael said.

"I know. I have too, but we'll be together again. If not now, in eternity," he said. He then went and told them. Told them that he had been transferred off the planet. They seemed to take it well enough.

"If I can I will return this summer and we'll go camping," he told them and they hugged.

Amistis really missed Michael and could not wait to see him again. But Moiya had to get him out of her mind so she moved out and got her own place and forgot she ever met him. It was just how she did things.

Spring had come and Amistis heard from Michael. He asked how she was doing and that he'd be back by the summer if all went well. He had one last assignment before coming back.

Gabriel had put off and put off his next set of inoculations and was scheduled soon to leave to be given them.

It had been a gamble that year to go so long without them but thankfully he hadn't caught anything bad.

With summer soon to arrive he was not in danger of getting seriously sick until the fall so he had plenty of time to get his last shots and recover from them.

But Michael's human type body was killed while he was on the assignment. He would not be coming back. He was now back in Heaven with the Father. Gabriel postponed his shots to help Amistis, Angeleeka, and Moiya out after they would be told about Michael.

Amistis came home from work. It was the first day of summer and she was so happy. She'd see Michael soon.

Raphael was sitting on the couch and he'd been crying. Gabriel sat there too with him. Grant stood near by and the look she saw on his face, you'd think a puppy had died.

Grant, Raphael, and Gabriel all quieted up and Raph dried his eyes. He didn't want her seeing him in such a state.

"What's up? Raph?" she asked. He didn't know what to say.

"Come here Amistis. I have top tell you something, honey," Grant then broke the silence. He took her hand.

She knew something was wrong. She sat. Angeleeka came into the house now too. She'd just gotten off work at the ice cream shoppe.

"Honey, come sit down. I have some bad news," Raphael finally said.

When Grant told them that Michael was dead, Angeleeka went running up the stairs crying but Amistis was in denial. "No he's not," she said simply and got up from the couch. Cory and Suzy began to cry. So did Staggisus. He had loved Michael too.

Amistis sobbed and sobbed on her bed.

"It's okay honey, I miss him too," Grant said holding her as she cried. He wasn't sure if she would recover alright. He was concerned about her disease.

Amistis did not do good in the night. Grant was afraid with the stress and all over Michael's death she might have a relapse. Raphael sure hoped Angeleeka didn't.

Grant had to give Amistis mouth to mouth in the night because she stopped breathing. He soon had to insert a breathing tube down her throat. Raphael and Gabriel helped him get her to the hospital.

Gabe drove while Grant continued to bag breathe for her as he stayed with her on the back seat along with Raphael. Once at the hospital he got her into Intensive care and onto a vent. "Come on sweetheart, don't give up, you just can't, AAyael. Not now, not like this," he said holding her hand. He then prayed, "Father, please don't take her yet."

Amistis got better. Raphael and Gabriel were angels in shining armour and she grew even more attached to them now.

"We should go. This is not good that the humans get so attached to us here," Gabriel told him later that day.

"I know but I don't want to leave her. Not yet. I haven't been reassigned yet. Maybe I'm to stay until the Lord calls her home. I don't think she has much longer," Raph told him and Grant.

"Alright. You can stay but I'm being reassigned next month after my last set of inoculations," Gabriel told him.

Raphael got special permission by the Father, to stay with Amistis Star.

Raphael had shaved his face. He looked so handsome Amistis and Moiya both thought. She was sure a flirting with him.

Amistis and Moiya especially, was glad to have Rapahel here to be a distraction to them, and Moiya could start to heal over Michael being dead. She knew in time she would come to love Raphael just as much as Michael. Would he be able to return that love was the question?

He had told her he did not date women. That it was part of the monastery he was a member to. But Moita began to love him. In time she felt she would love him more than she had Michael.

"I want that new Doctor at Academy Hospital, Pedro Raphael Floyyd, killed. He is too much a threat to the well-being of our secret society of the Angel Of Light worshipers," said a demon who was a spiritual guide of Eflack's. Since Michael was gone, now they wanted Raphael dealt with, then they take care of Gabriel too, if they had to. They'd use the stupid blind human race just as they always did, to do their dirty work.

Staggisus had told Raphael about where those two nasty men lived who took Angeleeka. But when Raphael went to investigate the cabin, the demons had already warned of Raph's coming.

Eflack followed Raphael one day after he got off work. It was late and dark out. Perfect scene to cause an accident. A fatal one...

CHAPTER 11

Amistis was working with Gabriel tonight. Along with Moiya who like her, had rearranged her schedule to not include the days that Duncan worked. A nurse then informed Gabriel about a car accident emergency coming in.

It was bad. Amistis and Moiya, plus Gabriel couldn't help but see who was rushed in. It was Raphael! He had sustained a head injury. They already had him on an airway.

"Oh no. Raphael, no!" Amistis cried and took his hand as the paramedic continued to bag breathe for him. Moiya just stood there stunned. No, not him too! She lost Michael. She just could not bear to lose Rapahel. She couldn't stand to see him hurt like this.

EFlack smiled as he peeked in at the room they were working on him in. He had caused a terrible hit and run. He had chased Raphael and tried playing road chicken with him which made Raph swerve and another truck had hit his car. It overturned.

Raphael, he hoped, got smashed up real bad. If not he was instructed by his spiritual guide, of a cocktail to give him intravenously to do the trick the rest of the way in causing his demise.

The demon knew that if Rachael's temporary body was killed, there would be no more physical Arch Angel in the world, just like with Michael now.

The demon smiled at the success in taking the life of Michael's temporary body by means of a mad scientist type personality.

Amistis and Moiya went into the intensive care unit they now had put Raphael into. For head trauma cases. He was on a vent. His head was all bandaged up. Strands of his beautiful hair hung down. He looked so vulnerable.

Amistis tried to hold her stance but Moiya broke down and began to cry. Real fear crept up that she was going to lose this one too. She felt she loved him more than any man she had ever known in her whole life. He was so kind and gentle.

"Oh Raphael," she said. She took his hand. Amistis sighed. Grant then quietly came in. He read the monitors now.

"Grant, how's he doing?" Amistis asked.

"Not good sweetheart. It could go either way. We'll just have to wait and see, and hope he starts to improve," came his reply.

It was touch and go. Gabriel knew his comrade might not make it. He also knew that this was no mere accident. This was on purpose and that their lives were in danger. Raphael especially right now, that he was weakened and so vulnerable.

He felt just awful seeing Moiya crying like that. He wished they hadn't been assigned to the girls. But he trusted the Father. He knew they had gotten so attached to the 3 of them. He sighed.

Raphael pulled through and seemed to be stabilizing now. Gabriel awoke Amistis and Moiya who both was asleep in the chairs.

They were so happy when he told them Raphael seemed to be healing and coming along much better now.

Moiya went over to his bed and took his hand. He still wasn't breathing good enough to be off the vent but at least it was a start. He was still unconscious.

"Come, let's go get some breakfast," Gabriel invited. Amistis now realized how hungry she was!

"He's going to make it," Gabriel told her with a smile.

When Raphael finally woke up, boy, did he have a headache! "Man, my head hurts," he said.

Angeleeka was able to come to see him now. He was still in Intensive Care but he was awake and not needing oxygen any longer so she was allowed in, being a minor and all.

"Well, hey little darlin', how you doin'?" he asked her. "I'm so glad your okay," she said.

CHAPTER 12

"You botched the job," said Eflack's spiritual guide. It was really a demon, and boy, was he not happy. So now he ordered Eflack to go give the cocktail injection to Raphael at the hospital. It had a substance in it, plus an overdose of Morphine.

The extra substance would magnify the morphine all the more and there was a certain poison that once introduced into the Angel's imperfect body, it would cause it to make an abnormal enzyme that would interfere with the Angel's ability to make red blood cells.

The demon was pretty sure Raphael would not survive the overdose because of it being magnified by the other drug, but just in case, he had the poison as a back up plan. All in all the Angel was a dead duck, not expected to survive this.

Amistis went to see how Raphael was doing after her shift got over. He was supposed to get out of intensive care and put into a regular room. She might or might not see him in the ICU ward. But what she saw she had not counted on.

They were working on Raphael. One had a mask over his nose and mouth squeezing an ambu bag attached while another doctor, it was a doctor Amistis had never seen before. He was barking orders to another to get some blood drawn.

Raphael then went into cardiac arrest. "What happened?" Amistis demanded.

"Get out! This is a restricted area!" spat that doctor. He had black curly hair. A little past shoulder length.

They had to intubate Raphael. They managed to get his heart started again but he was not waking up or breathing. Amistis went out into the hall. Moiya then came up to her. She had just got off duty too and Amistis forgot that she had invited her to come have supper with her and Raphael.

Amistis was going to see if she could bring him anything from the cafeteria. He should be able to eat solid foods.

Moiya glanced in the room and saw what was happening. "What's wrong? What happened?" she asked her very concerned now.

"I don't know? He was doing fine," Amistis said but she knew things could happen, as badly hurt as Raph had been, he might of threw a clot.

The doctor came out now. "I'm sorry about that." He then looked on the nurse's name tag. "Amistis Star. Is it Mrs. or Miss?" he addressed now.

"Actually I'm Mrs. Castel. Star is my maiden name. I'm married now to Doctor Grant Castel. Is Raphael going to make it?" she asked him.

"We're not too sure what happened. He is showing all the signs of an overdose. It may be that a nurse has made a mistake with administering his medications. We have him on morphine for pain. It might be that he was given too much. We're in the process of stabilizing him but we can't really until we find out just exactly what he's been given," the doctor explained.

Moiya went into the room. They had poor Raphael back on the vent. They had him on a special IV drip to help keep his heart beating. He was throwing PBCs. That meant a very unstable heart beat. It had skipping.

What had happened was this. Rapahel was taking a nap when something snuck in and stuck him in the neck. He opened his eyes to see a blurry figure skedaddle out of the room in a hurry.

Raphael began to feel the effects real quick. He hadn't time to act. He only had time to press the call button before he lost consciousness.

"You wicked son of perdition!" said a knightly voice from behind as Eflack rushed down the corridor. He somehow got lost. And the corridor got darker and darker.

Something began to pound in his head. He saw an Angel standing before him all in white. It was too bright to look into the beautiful face. All Eflack saw in back of him was this void.

It stank and he felt such fear the likes he had never before. Eflack had been abused as a child but instead of embracing all that was right, he did all that wasn't. He began his life of crime very young.

After he had run away from home. He met up with Noland in a Juvenile Home. They had both gotten an apartment together after being let out into society.

They had met Peegee and Leegee, Shescabob, and Harley. They had all schemed and planned together in a weird brotherhood bond of darkness.

These 4 lived on Vegros for a time and their weird rituals of darkness got them access to riches, but then Peegee and Leegee encountered this little no one busybody named AAyaelees Amistis Star on the way to colonizing Arca, a planet in this solar system. Word got out that they died.

Shescabob and Harley were sent next by their spiritual guides, to try to put a stop to Amistis and her friends but that didn't end well either.

So now, years later yet again, the last of this secret sect was sent to Arca, to try to rid themselves of this on growing force that went against their dark master.

"Your reign of terror ends now human!" Michael, the Arch Angel said. See, Eflack had just had a massive aneurism to his brain. He had collapsed onto the floor.

The doctors and nurses rushed over to him but he was already gone and nothing they could do. Their eyes did not see his soul depart and the terrors he saw as he went to Hell.

They found in his hand a syringe though. One of the doctors was the one treating Raphael. He had it analyzed and saw that Raphael was given a morphine overdose along with other ingredients he could not identify, so it was sent to the lab.

Michael stood before the bed of his fallen comrade. He was no longer in that vulnerable state any longer and his continence made the room as bright as the sky. No one saw. Raph was deeply unconscious and did not see him either.

"Your going to be okay, buddy. Your going to have to go through some hard times, but your going to make it," Michael told him. He was just sick for what was done to him. For what Raphael would have to go through now.

When Amistis Star saw Raphael, they were still trying to keep him alive. It didn’t look good. They had inserted a tube in down through his nose into his stomach. It was a suction type tube. Another tube had been inserted in down through his mouth to his stomach. They pumped charcoal now into his stomach and it went purging through his liver and they used the suction tube to bring the stuff back out with.

Gabriel hated seeing his comrade in this shape. Raphael looked so pale now. They managed to get him over the worst of the overdose but it left Raphael in a coma.

But life went on for Angeleeka, Amistis, and Moiya. They worked at the hospital. Angeleeka, a candy stripper until she was old enough to become a nurse. Raphael was moved to a care facility for coma patients.

A year went by and Grant was reassigned. He told Amistis that he had to go. That he would not be back again.

He told her that he broke some code marrying her, but that charges would not be brought up against him because what he did, marrying her, against the honor of the Code, he still had done it out of love. The Father had ordered it but what he told her was that she would be fine. To trust God.

Then Grant got mysteriously ill and he died. But he hadn't really, just had to appear that way before Amistis, to dissolve their marriage. He was able to be revived.

A few years later Amistis Star was taken by aliens. They were called the Oryziens. But no one knew this. Not even her Angelic husband was told, for his assignment was too important for him to be notified.

The Father had told him her time drew very near.

By the time she was found, she was dying. They had done experiments on her. To test her disease and nothing could help the effect it had on her.

When Raphael awoke from his coma he didn't know who he was. Gabriel was there, all smiles so happy to see him.

"Do I know you?" Raph asked him. Gabriel hugged his friend and sobbed.

"Hey, it's alright," Raphael replied. Even though his temporary mind could not remember, he felt deep within his core that he knew this person and felt a deep connection and love for him.

They were not sure how this type of poison would affect Raphael. It was concocted by demons. So they knew the end result was not good.

Raphael began to recollect things. He began to remember about Amistis Star. The human he had been assigned to. He was going to pay her a visit as soon as he got back from his next assignment, on Vegros. But then he felt a stirring in his core. Something was terribly wrong.

He was allowed to go to the bedside of Amistis Star as she was dying. She didn't have long. "Why Father, why have You kept this from me?" Raphael said in tears as he saw the shape she was in.

They had fixed up a real pretty dainty see-through tent outside for her. When Amistis' time of her death began to occur, of course she saw her husband who was really an Angel and knew who he really was, a special companion sent to help her during her last years.

She was made aware of three other special people. She could see Raphael approaching.

"Raphael," she outburst. The people standing around her could not see him. They thought she was hallucinating.

Raphael took her hand. "Hi Princess," he said. He knew she didn't have long.

"Where have you been?" she asked him. She had tried to find where they had taken him to, but never could. He took her hand. Grant took her other one then and kissed it. "How I love you," he said. She then saw Michael shining before her. She saw Nanian too, who had been a Guarding Angel watching her all her life.

"We're Angels sweetheart," Raph told her. He knew the Father had opened up her eyes and filled her mind with His Wisdom. It was time.

"Your," she began to say referring to Michael.

"I'm Michael, Amistis, Commander and Chief of God's army," he told her.

"Gabriel and Raphael?" she questioned.

"Who is she talking to?" Moiya asked then. Obviously Raphael was not here. He must of died. It was so sad. He had been poisoned. The men responsible, one was dead and the other apprehended and was in prison.

"Time to go home, AAyael," Michael said. "Gabriel is my second and Raphael is the 3rd in command of the Lord's vast army of Angels," Michael told Amistis. Raphael was crying. He wanted to go home with this beautiful, sweet child but knew he had other assignments first. Amistis then died.

No one was ever quite the same after her passing. Raphael felt alone and no real comfort with her out of the world so to speak. He was still vulnerable.

He was able to approach Angeleeka. She was a full grown woman now. He came to her at the funeral.

"So Amistis did see you," she spoke.

"Yes sweetheart," he said.

"Who are you? Are you an Angel, as she claimed? Rapahel?" she asked next.

"Honey, I am a servant of the Most High. He is my Lord and my God," he told her.

"Than He is from this day forth, mine as well," she told him. They hugged. Angeleeka gave her life to Christ that same hour. She continues to serve the Lord too. She and Raphael go from planet to planet.

Raphael puts up revival tents and preaches to the masses. Recently, Gabriel joined them. He had just finished with his second set of inoculations. It was a happy reunion.

This is the story of a girl who lives at an orphanage and the two sisters who she befriends. They are unusual to say the least and you'll just have to pull your own conclusions based on the cast of characters because I'm not going to spoil it for you.
