Peanut butter pup was a very special puppy. Why was he special? Well, Peanut, as everybody called him was special because of his tail. His tail, you ask? Yes, his tail. Can you guess why Peanut’s tail was so special?
Was it fluffy? No, it wasn’t fluffy. Was it skinny? No, it wasn’t skinny. Was it long? No, it wasn’t long. Was it short? No, it wasn’t short.
Well, why was Peanut’s tail so special? Peanut’s tail was so special because it was
“TALL”!
When Peanut butter pup was born his tail didn’t hang down like all the others puppies did. His tail stood up and as he grew up, his tail grew up, straight up!
Pretty soon Peanut’s tail was as tall as his mother.
Then it kept growing until it was as tall as the pen he and his brothers and sisters were kept in.
Do you think his tail stopped growing? Well it didn’t stop growing! It grew and grew even after Peanut butter pup grew up.
Can you guess how tall Peanut’s tail grew? Did it grow as tall as a fence? Yes, it grew as tall as a fence. Did it grow as tall as a house? Yes, it grew as tall as a house. Did it grow as tall as a tree? Yes, it grew as tall as a tree.
As a matter of fact, Peanut butter pup’s tail grew so much, that it nearly reached the moon!
As you can imagine, this made life hard peanut. He couldn’t go into the house because his tail wouldn’t fit though the door. He couldn’t go for walks because his tail would get caught in the trees and telephone wires, and every time he would wag his very tall tail he would move the stars around in the sky! That part was kind of fun!
How do you think this made Peanut butter pup feel? Did it make him feel happy? No, it didn’t make him feel happy. Did it make him feel mad? No, it didn’t make him mad.
Did it make him sad? Yes, it made Peanut butter pup very sad, not to be able to go into the house and not to be able to take a walk and it really made him sad not to be able to wag his tail.
Being a sad, sad dog is not a good thing, not a good thing at all. So Peanut butter pup went to see his doggy doctor to see what could be done to make him a happy dog again.
The doctor took one look at Peanut’s sad little face and said, “I can fix that!” with a little nip and a little tuck, the doctor fixed Peanut’s tail so that it could fit in the house and that he could tale long walks and not get his tail caught in the trees or telephone wires, and best of all he could wag his tail without moving the stars around in the sky! He would kind of miss that part.
How do you think Peanut butter pup wagged his tail? Did he wag his tail slow? No, he didn’t wad his tail slow. But, he could if he wanted too. Did he wag his tail too and fro? Yes, he did, and a little up and down too. Did he wag his tail fast? Yes, yes he wagged his tail very, very fast indeed, because he was a very, very happy Peanut butter pup!
